My favorite Sunday brunch spot in Lodi! I've been coming here for years and every visit is always filled with delicious food and great service. AYCE Brunch is available on Sundays and includes: Omelet bar, potatoes, hash browns, bacon, house made sausage, eggs benedict, waffles, french toast, pastries, fruit, bread pudding, coffee and juice. They also have chilaquiles and a nacho bar. Our favorites are: chilaquiles, tortilla chips, sausage, and bread pudding. If you'd like to come here from lunch or dinner, everything is just as good. The Dancing Fox Winery & Brewery was the final stop for our Executive Team Building adventure. We stopped in on the way back from our event. We were greeted and seated promptly after arriving. The restaurant is decorated in vintage paintings and furniture, a large brick oven for pizzas and a cute outdoor patio with additional seating. Our server was very attentive, ensured our drinks were topped off and we were satisfied with our orders. We ordered a pizza, wings & mozzarella sticks as starters. I ordered the Tri Tip Green Chili Melt which was really good, others in the group ordered, wings, fish & chips, chicken caprese sandwich & the French Dip. If we are just judging everything by the food and ambience, five stars. There I got that out of the way. Food is fantastic. We got the foccicia bread basket as an appetizer and it was really good, herb, olive oil, soft bread like a sponge. The chicken pot pie was excellent, full of flavor, great crust and good filling. I got the French dip, it was probably one of the best I had in a while. The au jus was the best part, thick, flavorful along with a strong creamy horseradish. Service............. Not so much. For a big place that was maybe 40% occupied, it was soooooooooooooooooo slow. One server from what I see, 2 bussers, and 5 others standing around chatting. Took a good 30 mins to get seated (there was tables available), though we got to go to their tasting room, and got a bottle of wine; another 20 mins to get the server's attention after getting seated and probably another 40 for the food to come. Stopped in to the Dancing Fox hoping to combine a tasting with a meal. They couldn't accommodate due to a members event so we just had lunch with wine. The menu is somewhat typical bar food options, nothing particular gourmet. The focaccia bread that they use for sandwiches is definitely a standout out though - be sure to try this. The Chardonnay Reserve was served too cold, so it lacked personality as I'd hoped. This place seems to serve alot of locals which is nice to see. read more

Visiting Lodi this restaurant was highly recommended so we gave it a shot. We came in early dinner on a weekend, it wasn't busy maybe 3-4 tables occupied. The restaurant looks cool, looks very old, very dim, smelled like old wood. We got pizza to share, some beer, and desserts. The pizza was meh, not very good, crust was tough, we didn't get to finish it. I was really excited about the desserts. I got the fox delight and my bf got the bread pudding. The fox delight is pretty much like a frozen snicker bar with whipped cream. I can tell this entire dessert was just taken out of the freezer because my whipped cream was frozen. It was so difficult to cut, was too frozen. I really wanted to like it but I could barely cut it to take a bite. I was just tempted to grab with with my hands and eat it because I didn't want to waste it. The bread pudding was way too sweet, even my bf who loves sweets could not finish it. The other thing we noticed, was the amount of flies on our food. I didn't notice them at first, it being so dark. I was wondering why my bf kept waving on the food. This is my second time dining at the place and this time it was a lunch date with my kiddos. We arrived and were seated outside right away. It was very cute out there, we loved it! My kids can get a bit excited so it was perfect for us. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the Caesar salad wrap and my daughter did the same, I got some chicken and fries for my littlest one. The wrap was amazing! My daughter didn't leave a crumb on her plate. I was really excited to try The Dancing Fox. This was our first visit, and we arrived right as they opened, so the wait wasn't an issue. Unfortunately, the first impression walking in wasn't great. The servers appeared unwelcoming and exhausted, and there wasn't much of a greeting or warmth. After we sat down, that seemed to be the overall tone. Our server was very dry--maybe it had been a long night, but the energy felt low from start to finish. The food came out on the greasy side and lacked seasoning. The standout dish was the calamari--the pieces were large, meaty, and satisfying. The fish and chips looked great in photos, but it didn't taste fresh and had an oddly papery texture. I also tried a cherry cider wine, which leaned very sweet--almost like a port, and not quite my preference. One of the most disappointing aspects was the lack of wine flight options. When I asked about tastings, I was told I'd need to sit at the bar next time, which felt a bit dismissive. Overall, it wasn't my best restaurant experience in Lodi. Thiss place is huge, and has outdoor seating options. It was a beautiful first Sat in Oct, we opt to sit outside. Service was quick and attentive. We ordered 2 beers in opposite spectrums. A light pear cider and a dark Stout, Barrel aged Yeti. Both were great. For food, we had a tritip sandwich and a Cranberry Walnut Salad. Both were tasty with house made bread. After our meal, we walked to the back for complimentary wine tasting. We asked for reds, and were poured generously with so many bottles. We ended up buying the new blend and the port. read more

One of the best veggies burgers! The patties are house-made with many fresh ingredients. The patty holds together well. Big portion. Highly recommend. I prefer the onion rings over the fries. I'd get that next time. I loved the one and only beer lager on their menu. It's a brewery so I'd expect more options for the lager but didn't find any. Also my partner who is a self proclaimed wine connoisseur, stated the wine was slightly watered down. I thought it was alright from my one sip. Seating is awesome tho! We stopped by after dinner for drinks and dessert. Parking was a breeze and even though there was less than an hour before closing, staff greeted us warmly and never rushed us out the door. I like that there is both locally made beer and wine here, since I prefer wine and my partner enjoys beer. We shared a very delicious dessert that tasted like an ice cream Twix. I really enjoyed my birthday lunch here and always have good experiences when I come: I had the veggie patty - what's awesome about it, is it is actually made with black bean and real ingredients. Had never been to Lodi, but saw this place on Yelp and was so excited to check it out. Every single aspect of this place was awesome. The building is gorgeous, service is spot on, and food/drink are unreal! Had the hummus appetizer which was GIANT and delicious. Hadn't eaten since 7am so the calories were needed, but it could've totally been for 4 people. I had the stuffed chicken as my main and it was so flavorful. I cant believe Ive never reviewed Dancing Fox before. Ive been here a handful of times over the past 3 years, and have been impressed each time. On each visit, the food is good, service was wonderful, and the prices match the experience. My most recent visit was my first time trying Dancing Fox for brunch. It's a flat rate and buffet style. The omelet bar was my favorite part. Oh and I had never sat on the patio before and I must say, the outside ambiance is just as nice as the inside. Dancing Fox is a staple of Lodi for a reason. I don't go to Lodi too often but when I do, I enjoy going to the Dancing Fox for lunch. Each visit, while still enjoyable, makes me less inclined to continue to rave about this place. What's still true, is the whimsical and cozy ambiance and variety of interesting salads, wraps, sandwiches and wood fired pizzas. However, I find the service to be a bit lacking. On my last visit, our food took nearly 45 minutes (2 sandwiches) and the place was only about 1/4 full. I realize they do move at a slower pace here but our server didn't even check in on us that whole time. It's still somewhere I'd encourage you try while in Lodi but arrive with plenty of time on your hands. Overall, 4 stars for the food and atmosphere but down a star on service. read more

We walked in on a Saturday around 12:30pm. It was empty so it was nice that we were offered some complimentary garlic cheese bread. $15 tasting fee for 5 wines. It is waived you dine at their restaurant or if you buy a bottle per tasting. No dogs allowed inside the wine bar. I'm not sure if they are allowed on the outside patio or rhe restaurant. Fruit forward but light flavor for white wines, merlot, Sangiovese, and Zinfandel. The dessert wine and Cabernet were the most bold. But nothing really wowed us. The lady who poured our wines was nice and knowledgeable. Casual ambiance and fast service since it wasn't busy. They also sell beer too but it's not their own brewed beers. We revisited this establishment after a lengthy absence - we live out of town. We were having a lunch with family and friends as well as I did a book signing. We ordered the Onion rings ($12) for an appetizer - they were crisp and tasty - not oily like many places. We shared a Triple Club sandwich ($18) paired with a bottle of the Cuvee/Fairy Gold sparkling ($27). Superb. Angelo took care of us and was very attentive to our needs.
