Another dying mall. There are barely any shops left in the mall. A few off brand spots and a handful of shops still in the mall. Another mall barely hanging on by the life support of an AMC theater. It's still fun to walk around though! The food court has a handful of off brand food spots, but very few name brand spots. I don't recommend this mall for shopping, but for a walk out of the Florida sun, it's decent. read more

I go once in a while to the food court because they have this Spot called New Taste Island Restaurant - the Griot is very good - with spicy sauce - green plantain - delicious rice & beans Haitian style yummy and very fresh salad . The employees are always pleasant . The value is right ! I went there with my aunt and cousins and there was roaches in the food area like not roaches that just die the roaches like German roaches that reproduce a ton and almost bought a backpack that could've had roaches in it and they never have fixed the a/c read more

I love this Mall, I also love to see all the small business Tenants and their Great Stores. This mall is a great place for a nice movie at amc theater & grab a bite to eat at the food court, Or shop at the JCpennys & Dillard's. Definitely come by here from time to time. The mall is so slow, they don't have any good stores (which most of them are closed.) the food service also sucks too.

Like so many malls in the Central Florida area, this one has taken the slow decline to sadness. They use to be a solid mall with plenty of stores and food court options. I'd say over three quarters of the stores are closed down and the rest probably aren't too far behind with the lack of foot traffic coming through. What stores are open are nice and you can find some good deals - especially in the sale area, as it is not as picked over as higher trafficked mall stores. The anchor stores are on par with the area and have a ton of merch and different items to look at. Overall: C- Meh, I've experienced better and this mall has seen better days. read more

Not for the actual mall but this is for a business at the mall: Blu Cafe. Went here just for drinks. Great decor *hint: Blu in the title*. Great place for a pre-game, first date or random need to hit the bar. Drinks were DEFINITELY worth the price. I had the Sneaky Link drink... and it made me sent a text for just that. Lol. It's a new bar/restaurant so it was empty when we showed up. The staff was very nice and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The food menu seemed to have everything you could want. From wings to lamb... next time I go, I'll try to the food menu and let you know. read more

This mall seems to be on the slow track to extinction. Sad really, but newer places open and as the world becomes more reliant on internet shopping, this mall has definitely fell into a hard decline. This is not the only mall this has happened to, but it is sad to see these once vibrant centers of commerce fall from their lofty heights and into a sad shell of what they were. On a personal note (and maybe showing my age), I prefer to do my shopping in malls and in stores rather than online. How can you judge by a single picture on your computer screen? Plus, I miss the social aspect of shopping during Christmas with friends, when we were just emerging into adulthood. We would shop, grab lunch, maybe a drink and enjoy life. This mall is dying, you know it's over when the McDonald's leaves. However, If you like the DMV then it's great. Like so many malls across the country, this one has taken the slow decline to sadness. It's a bit creepy walking around as it's quiet and many popular stores have since left. My husband refuses to let me go here alone due to the history of crime and shootings in recent years. We saw some "sus" (as the youngins like to say) aka suspicious characters on our recent visit so just be vigilant! The positive is the DMV, with an appointment, you can get in and get out fast. Did I just use DMV and fast in the same sentence?! I personally wouldn't go out of my way to go here. I think most people in Ocoee, just go to the Winter Garden Village to shop anyways. If you are curious to see what a retail apocalypse looks like, then take a peak. I hope this area can be repurposed because it's hard to call this place a "mall" due to so many recent store closures. read more

Disappointing because it seems it's rather half empty than half full. I don't know, this mall's been faltering before 911 and after years and years of declension and a Great Recession here we are, worse off. For all the empty malls I've been in across America, this one's particularly sad because it's so nice. It's really such a beautiful space that it's a shame but with two anchor stores down, the anchor casual dining down, most of the parking lot satellite retail and casual dining down, what's left? A zombie movie in their future? We came here for JCPenney, don't ask, and Dillards specifically to avoid the crowds but I can't imagine how they're paying the light bill. The last time I saw a movie here was Bridget Jones's Diary but I'll say this. They have first run movies at 90s prices and you can't beat that. Half price. Almost worth the gas and tolls from downtown for a private screening. read more

I am here for an appointment with the optometrist (I'm going to see again - very exciting). I've arrived early so I decided to stroll through the mall. I'd heard it was deserted, but never expected this. Even the food court is down to only six places. There is no pizza place. Can it really be a food court without pizza? Very sad. Supposedly there is a development deal in the works for a multi use repurposing. I hope it pans out. One positive. With so few patrons, the place is very clean and pleasant. Not much to purchase, but a nice walk on a hot Central Florida day. read more

The Orange County Tax Collector moved from the same Plaza as Servandos on Highway 50 to the West Oaks Mall. It joined The Sunpass Service Center. The West Oaks Mall used to be an amazing place to shop. Several years ago it started on the road to a slow death and never survived. Places like Fowler's Grove redirected customers away from huge indoor shopping. Lots of the great stores moved out and the movie theater grew old. By the time that the theater was updated lots of people were comfortable making the drive to Epic or West Orange 5. The anchor stores are JC Penny and Dillard's Clearance Center. I recently visited the clearance center and found some amazing deals but only purchased an evening bag. Bath & Body Works, The Children's Place, Foot Locker and Underground by Journey are still located in the mall. There are several more no name type places and lots of empty store fronts. It is very quite and to me kind of eerie. read more

I remember the hay day when this mall was the shiny, new mall it once was in the late 90s. It was particularly hit hard during the recession and economic downturn and it's definitely a shell of its former self. There are few stores in the mall section and there are also plenty of department stores which are empty. The mall is frequented by teenagers and the whole crowd feels different. I still remember when I used to buy Pokémon cards here and the hustle and bustle of the mall was there. Too bad, this mall is pretty close to my house relatively speaking. read more

There are only 5 restaurants open in the food court plus an ice cream shop by the theater. One of them is a newly opened Chinese restaurant. The AMC movie theater and some small holiday tables/temporary kiosks selling a variety of items help somewhat. Penneys seemed to be doing a good business. I only come here for the movies. Their movie theater has been updated and they have the nice comfortable seats and the prices are great! JC Penney's is there.. not bad.. the rest? Forget it! It's creepy walking around the rest of the mall. Just stay by the Food Court and the movie theater. You get what you pay for here. The shops are few and the options for food are even less. The only two places keeping this mall open right now are Sunpass and the Department of Motor Vehicles, DMV. I went to the DMV last week and even after I was late for my appointment they helped me make a new one instead. It was for that same day! I was on break from work so I was nervous that I would have to miss my second appointment to return to work. But, after I rescheduled my appointment I was called in roughly 5 minutes later! The staff and security there are quite friendly and helpful. Everyone I asked was quite knowledgeable and answered my questions competently. I went to get a new drivers license and was out within 15 minutes after I was asked the basic questions required of me. The woman who assisted me was funny but still kept it very professional. Typically a DMV no matter where you go would be as difficult as pulling a tooth! I was happy to hear this location popped up right near my work. When I went inside as soon as you walk in there are electronic podiums where you can get your ticket or schedule an appointment if you plan to wander the mall a bit. They also have an option for text reminders to let you know how long until your seen and update you if that changes, which station you'll go to, and they'll notify you when they are ready to see you. I've only been there twice but the service there definitely left a great impression on me! read more

For all of those who live closer to Ocoee than they do Orlando, this Mall is probably very convenient and helpful if trekking to Orlando seems out of the question. It wasn't too thrilling, but not a bad place to shop either. The major department stores were there like Belk, Sears, Dillards and J.C. Penney's as well as some of the common mall stores we have all come to know. Foot Locker, American Eagle, Hallmark, Express, Waldenbooks, etc. They also house an AMC movie theater as most malls do nowadays. The food court was very standard and didn't hold any really unique or delicious eateries. Panda Express, McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, and Subway are basically what you can expect. They do have a Ruby Tuesday's if you'd like to sit down and be served instead of carrying a tray. I did appreciate markers spread throughout the mall's thoroughfare that signify distance. Thus, if it was a rainy day and you were in the mood to walk, you could head to West Oaks and know how far you've gone. A nice way for people to build on a healthy lifestyle while window shopping and prime people watching. read more

Sketchy is the only word that comes to mind. It's my closest tax collector location, so I stop in for that, but I don't even grab a snack here. The decline started well before COVID, but it is 100% ghost mall. Avoid unless you just have to go to the tax collector, then get out. read more

Ghost town. The last time I came to this mall was probably 10 years ago. What a difference. The majority of stores are empty while the ones left are independent retail stores which all have very targeted shoppers. Very few notable names left. You won't spend much time here, so I wouldn't worry about getting hungry, which is good because the food court barely has anything left. There IS an AMC movie theatre but unfortunately that has been plagued with trouble over the last few years. Not somewhere to bring your kids anytime other than matinee. My recommendation for anyone coming to this mall is: dont. Just take the extra bit of time to jump on the turnpike and hit millennia or Florida mall. read more

In 1996, putting a mall in Ocoee seemed like a good idea. 20 years later, all that's gone down the toilet. What's there now is the deadest mall west of Leesburg; the West Oaks Mall. Back in the late '90s, this place was popping, filled to the brim and a popular hangout, These days, it's so much different. By any definition, this mall isn't "dead", but it sure is "dying". It's on it's last legs, and the cheap AMC theater is it's life support. With all the crime and events that've happened in the area, cooped with the Great Recession, a few riots and an overall decline, most businesses have left and all that's left is minor businesses and two anchors. All of the fast food places have left and Great Value-type no name restaurants have taken their place, if at all. You could come up with more ideas of what you could do with all that space than you could name actual stored located in the mall. If anybody goes to the mall, they're either here for the anchors or just to walk around. I used to shop here and it used to be much more populated than the empty monolith it is now. Many attempts are being made to revitalize this mall, god only knows if they'll help at all. read more

I have found clothes and shoes at great prices! At this mall I have also found an artist at the Ink Spot Tattoo who was able to cover up a scar with a beautiful rose! West Oaks Mall in Ocoee, Florida J C Penney is the one good store has lot of people around in West Oaks mall. It is pretty easy to park in the parking lot and we can get a Wheel chair in no time, due to the great service by Melena Wheeler. She was quick, understanding , ability to get the Wheelchair for my motherinlaw in No time. Thats Outstanding. This kind of exemplary service makes easier for the handicapped people. She also was able to bring Melissa Melcruz who is a great Yelp fan as well. She has connections with Elite Yelp contributors as well. Melissa knows the YELP in-charge in Orlando, Florida. This is a great Space. Unfortunately, that's pretty much all that's left here. Empty Space. Certainly it's no big secret that the indoor shopping malls are not aging well. I find it odd that Millenia and Florida Mall are still going strong yet the West Oaks mall is so so empty. They have a movie theater and a food court so you can still go for those reasons. Certainly plenty of parking since there are not many other things to go to the mall for. There IS a beautiful carrousel in the food court that little ones really enjoy though. read more

When I first moved to the Orlando area many years ago, this was the closest mall to my house. It was packed with people... busy all the time... and really was great. But over the years and with more upscale malls available, this has become the "Mall of the Damed!" I went to the mall while waiting for some car work to be done. It was the only thing within walking distance that was of interest. I had not been here in years and decided to check it out. It was empty. I saw about 20 stores or so that were open but the rest of the stores were close and empty. I don't know how the one remaining stay open. The few stores that were open were hungry for customers and we were 'attacked' at the few we went into. The only thing still going for the mall is the AMC theater. If it were not for that, this mall would be done. I have been in the mall/retail business for over 30 years and can tell you that this mall needs a major remodel or needs to be replaced. I would not bother since there is truly nothing there worth going for. read more

This mall is one of the saddest ones in the Orlando area. I hadn't been here for a good 5+ years and walking into the food court was depressing. It was practically empty except for a handful of diners spread out . Most of the tenants in the food court are no name brand food establishments. There is a AMC movie theater which probably brings some business to the mall but not enough for them to see a difference. Most of the tenants I remembered from years past are long gone. There are numerous empty storefronts and random stores selling everything from urban style clothing to club wear. There are numerous athletic shoes and even a Journeys! Dillard's and JCPenney are still anchor stores but who knows for how long. The carousel in the food court is a draw for the kiddos. I do think that this mall is stuck in the 90s. The decor reminded me of a mall I worked at in college! I had several friends tell me to be careful which made me wonder how bad the crime was. I never felt unsafe but I made sure I was aware of my surroundings. I think this mall is fine in the daylight. At night may be another story. I am giving 2 stars because of the anchor stores . But I wouldn't recommend going of out your way to visit. Trying to save you the disappointment and gas! read more

This is a decent sized one level mall. It appears clean and well maintained. I like the style of it very much. The problem is that most of the stores are vacant, and several of the ones that did appear to have functioning businesses were not even open in the middle of the day. The highlight of this mall appear to be the AMC theater in their food court area. I imagine this place was once really great. read more

Would ghetto mall be politically incorrect? Well, I've heard that assumption of this mall from several people so I guess it has that reputation. It is very close to the Pine Hills area so a lot of folks from that area hang out at the mall. I usually only went there in the morning on a weekday and the place was dead. When I've been there on weekends it isn't much better. I remember when it opened and it was such a big deal! A lot of the stores are closing and the mall is on the small side anyway. Cool stuff about the mall? It has a decent AMC theater attached and a carousel in the food court. That's about all it has going for it. On a side note... We invited a couple friends of ours who are cops to the theater one night. They didn't want to go because of the supposed crime! These are cops! Well, I've been to the theater at night and there is always security around and honestly I never felt unsafe, but still, maybe they know something I don't? read more

Nearly all the food options in the food court are closed and the ones that are open... well, I wouldn't eat at them. And for a shopping mall, there is very little to shop for. This place has become a ghost town in recent years and the crowd that does still come isn't really my cup of tea. The one redeeming quality of this mall is the movie theater, which in itself is not the best but they do have the best prices in town. $3.99 before 4pm and $5.99 after 4pm. Bland and a bit sad, like Festival Bay. This mall has a really dated feel to it, and I can't really see myself being a regular here. The carpet in most of the stores is probably as old as the stores and a lot of the places have an odd, unpleasant smell. The theater looked okay from the ticketing booth but I did not go in. It felt like every third store was closed; the tough economy seems to have taken its toll on this place. They have a "cajun" place in the food court (which is really just an asian place that serves bourbon chicken) and other standard mall food fare like Chik fil A, the diarrhea factory known as Panda Express, McDonald's, and a Charlie's. The Ruby Tuesdays has shut down. This mall is wheezing its dying breaths, and I would not be surprised to see the entire mall shut down or repurposed in the next few years. read more

This mall lives by its movie theater. It's is kind of cool because the theater price is pretty cheap and there is always close parking available. Otherwise is meehh. The food court is not good, and the stores seem to be empty most times. I will say this is a great spot for people that don't like shopping on crowded places. read more

It's high time somebody guts this place and turns it into something useful. I'm thinking long indoor gun range, or perhaps a dragstrip. Or maybe a giant lazer tag arena could be nice. Maybe just give all the great citizens of Ocoee sledge hammers and just let them go nuts. My point, is there comes a time in every abandonned buildings life when you just throw in the towel and stop refering to yourself as a shopping mall.
