Toxic positivity concealing general and frequent ineptitude...My initial impression included a LOT of red flags, for me at least. Generally just the assembly line nature of this place and the cold eyed teeth baring robot smiles followed by snide comments about clients when you turn away. If you catch them they simply lie to you like you're crazy. What? No!! We would NEVER do something like that!! You must be mistaken! Sure, I must be an idiot, thank you for pointing that out. Just lie and deny, Im sure this is how West handles problems. He seems like the poster boy for plausible deniability. Where the Doctor goes the staff will follow and the greater the numbers the bigger the lie. Sigh... If you value your health, think women are more than decorative objects who mindlessly follow, dislike being touched without permission, and you're not a vapid nit wit or a grade schooler I recommend Dr Botsford or really consider looking outside Medford if West is the best they have to offer as the social media clique culture would indicate. Dr. West is the doctor! I moved from Bakersfield, Ca looking to finish and correct some issue from a previous doctor that didn't seem to really care about me as a patient. West and his awesome staff took me on as a patient and worked with me to make the needed corrections. I couldn't be more thankful and happy with the progress and finished results. I just had my yearly check up and was looking forward to visiting! Nothing is ever a problem. I always feel heard and that speaking about my concerns is never a problem! From beginning to end, I have had the upmost amazing experience. I didn't feel like just another "client" The entire staff makes you feel welcome an at home. Very personable vibes. They have water an fresh chocolate chip cookies on deck. They also have rewards like $5 coffee gift cards they hand out thru out your visits. Ohhh and as much as I disliked having braces, it was worth everything, I cried with joy when I saw my smile. I left a review a few months ago on google, as well as an email and no one has contacted me. I completed care with West Orthodontics and had a very positive experience my entire care up until the last appointment. For my last appointment to get my braces off, I expected to be met with the same contagious smiles and excitement that I had every other visit. Instead I was met by Tasha (who never introduced herself), took me back and began my appointment. I told her up front that I was super nervous about this appointment and she didn't even acknowledge my comment. She began taking off the brackets without warning me, never explaining what she was doing before she did it, and not until it sounded like my tooth shattered did she tell me that the clear brackets often shatter and sound like your teeth are breaking. I was VERY uncomfortable and in pain, and it wasn't until I literally pulled away that she checked in on me or asked how I was doing. I literally almost passed out from the pain and anxiety, my ears started ringing and things started going dark. With every other appointment the assistants told me what they were doing, what it was gonna feel like, checked in on me and kept me informed. I got NONE of these things. When Dr. West came over to check on my teeth, he was amazing. He asked how I was doing, I said this was terrible and he encouraged me and let me know what he was going to be doing. He ended up finishing the polishing of the glue off my teeth. It wasn't until then that I realized how rough and heavy handed the assistant had been. When I showed any discomfort he checked in on me, let me know how close to being done we were and told me I was doing great. It's the little things that make an uncomfortable service bearable. When he was finished, Tasha without warning put a white probe into my mouth and never explained once what she was doing. Only after she removed it from my mouth could I ask what it was for. I was then rushed around to finish X-rays, take pics and felt rushed into grabbing a water bottle and "you can fill it up with candy if you want..." This was suppose to be exciting and joyful. I was absolutely traumatized and felt uncared for. That appointment was suppose to be exciting and joyful, and instead I rushed to my car so I could cry and shake it off. I called the manager, Holly. She listened to my concerns. Reminded me that the rest of my care was a good experience and told me she INSISTED on giving me a Starbucks gift card when I came to pick up my retainers. When I opened the gift card, it was a $5 gift card to Target... Honestly, I don't know what I expected when I called to voice my concerns. I was truly hoping that no one would have the experience I had. But when she insisted that she had to make it right somehow... a $5 gift card felt insulting after literally telling her my experience in tears. I hope that for the future, West Orthodontics makes sure that anyone who has hands on another human, is also educated on trauma informed care. I felt so unsafe during my last appointment, it tainted the view of my entire experience. But I do have to highlight, one more time, the other amazing assistants and Dr West. You all made there rest of my care fun and positive. read more

After having an emergency problem with a permanent retainer coming loose I called West Orthodontics and was presently surprised when I was able to schedule an appointment the same day. Simply amazing. Dr. West is an amazing Orthodontist. My son is 11 and has dental fears due to a sensitive mouth. They were very helpful and walked him through each step of getting braces placed on. I had the distinct pleasure of needing adult braces in my 29th year on this planet. So my dentist recommended Dr. West and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! The staff was very helpful in guiding me to the right option for me and my wallet which was standard wire braces instead of Invisalign. I am always made to feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone I've had the pleasure of meeting has been so nice and accommodating. The office is brand new, the staff is wonderful, wait times, if any, are very minimal due to Dr. West's large staff and how efficiently they all work together. If your child or your unlucky adult self need some orthodontist work, I will recommend Dr. West and his wonderful staff until the day I get these braces off!...then until the day I die.
