Service was not good. Definitely not enough staff working. Long wait for drinks and someone to take our order. First time eating here and honestly don't know if I would go back. Clean restaurant, and the service was great. Food was just average. Started with the Caesar wedge salad, had to ask for more dressing, and the bacon was wimpy. Ordered the bacon skewers and the crab cakes to start. No bueno on the skewers, but the crab cakes were delicious. They could've used a little more sauce on the bottom, and coleslaw to pair, but they were definitely the star of the night. Ended with the braised short ribs. Not too bad, except way too much balsamic glaze. Definitely recommend getting it on the side, and dressing it yourself. They bring out complimentary bread and butter as well to start, and everything in the basket was great. A little pricey, but would definitely return to try the other menu items. read more

I want to start by saying, this Resturant is tucked in this old and lost casino that is lack luster to say the least. This place is fantastic, the service and food is par with top spots in Columbus Ohio. I'm not sure if it is because my expectations are low based on the hotel/Casino or if it is really that good. This was my 4th or 5th time over the last 3 years and it is just THST GOOD. The waitress was on top of her game and knew her stuff. Had a surprise reservation here Saturday 06/10 for my 30th birthday, it was just my fiance and I, we started off ordering the special martini blackberry lemonade with titos vodka, it was a very tiny serving, was not chilled and you could taste no alcohol, but that was being made by a bartender from a separate bar area and not the restaurant so I can't fault them for that. We started off with the crispy calamari as an appetizer, nice large portion, drizzled with balsamic glaze, and it was delicious. My boyfriend got the 10 oz prime rib and mushroom risotto, I got the 8 oz sirloin with asparagus and crab bernaise on top, steak could have been a little more seasoned, and it was a little over cooked but other than that my boyfriends prime rib was HUGE and to die for. The executive chef came out to our table and spoke with us, very nice guy and seems to love what he does, the waitress Becky was so nice and accommodating, we would eat here again if we were ever down this way! read more

Pretty good restaurant but a little over priced. Excellent wait staff and tasty appetizers and entrees. The entrees are small tho. Didn't give 5 stars because the interior needs a huge upgrade. I stopped by here this past weekend as part of a party of 17 people for a bachelors party. We had made our reservations well in advance and when we arrived a semi private room was set up for us which was nice. Other than this small side room I didn't get to see too much of the restaurant though which was fine by me. Almost immediately after all of our party was seated the waitresses came out to take our drink orders. They didn't have drink menus and when asked what they had the answer was a curt "full bar". With that information, the guy next to me tried to order a mojito but was told he couldn't. Eventually about 20 minutes after being seated the drinks finally came out (almost everyone in our large party ordered drinks so this was fine) and the waitresses were ready to take our order. However there was the simple problem that none of us had menus yet. Finally after that issue was solved I ended up ordering a Caesar salad to start with a ribeye cooked medium for my entree with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Due to the large size of our party the food came out at irregular intervals. As a matter of a fact I am pretty sure the other side of the table had their salads for a full 5 minutes before our side got anything. In any case the Caesar salad was absolutely huge and seemed to consist of a full head of Romaine cut in half. So in that respect it was almost like eating a wedge salad where we had to cut the lettuce itself. Normally this isn't a problem but the "bowls" the lettuce was served in proved to be pretty unstable and many people were having issues with the bowls tipping, myself included. Once I finally got my salad cut it ended up being pretty good as there was ample amounts of cheese and the dressing had a nice flavor as well. After we had all finished our salads the entrees came out pretty quickly. My bone in ribeye was actually a pretty nice cut of meat. The problem with it was that I would call the temperature on the meat that I had a pittsburgh rare which is not too close to the medium I ordered. Also while the meat itself had a good flavor, I am not so sure that the steak was seasoned except for near the bone. So while the steak looked impressive it actually ended up being disappointing, especially for the price. Finally the garlic mashed potatoes were pretty good. They were creamy and had a slight garlic flavor to them which I enjoyed. The bottom line for me is that i probably wouldn't head back here again in the future on my own accord. For being a fancy steakhouse, my steak just wasn't that good and other simple items like the plates just seemed to be off. However, I do realize that we were a large party and that makes things difficult and so maybe my experience would have been better otherwise. read more

My wife and I had dinner here on Saturday and it was AMAZING. My wife had the twin lobster tails which were huge, and I had the greatest steak of my life which was the 20 ounce bone in rib-eye. The garlic and chive mashed potatoes were epic, and my wife loved the crab cakes too. Our waiter was Jon, and he was a delight. He was very warm, cordial, helpful and humorous. We were in the middle of our meal and we were already planning our next trip back, and what would we get the next time we come. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind paying a little more for an amazing meal, and when they say make reservations, you better make reservations because the seating is limited, but not by any sense of the word cramped. I just want to go back for dinner tonight, and every night. read more

The service here was great, but the food was disappointing. I ordered a bone in ribeye medium rare with au poivre sauce on top. The steak comes out medium to medium well with a side of what looks like pan drippings from the prime rib. Au poivre is supposed to be a creamy pepper sauce. The lobster mac and cheese was pretty boring and lacked imagination. Don't have high expectations to go along with the high prices, in fact opt for a different restaurant. read more

Had dinner Friday night on 5/11/18. Good was excellent. Had the Bacon and Cornbread appetizer, French onion soup, ginger carrot soup, striped sea bass and the Tuna Asian salad, and rum cake for dessert. We all enjoyed are meal and thought the quality was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly, but seemed at a loss when we asked particular questions about the food. Visited my wife and I favorite spot to eat over the weekend , keep note that I always spend atleast $100 dollars and leave a firm tip every visit. Food was splendid as usual. My issue was with a waitress iv yet to encounter until our delightful visit this weekend. Middle aged looking with dark hair the name tag said Jade. Our service was absolutely disgraceful, her breathe smelled horrid , she wreaked of marijuana and after she snapped at my wife for a simple question about the wine Id had enough. After I asked her what the manger would think if I complained about her odor she replied "Ill be ok I can fake a drug test" I still left a decent tip mind you but I will not be visiting The Pointe again until they fix this issue. read more

Some of the best steak I have ever had has been from the Pointe. It is kind of prices so I don't go very often. My wife and I save the Pointe for special occasions. Never have we been disappointed with our meals. I recommend giving it a shot. read more

Solid Four Star. We each had the 8 oz Filet and they were cooked perfectly. We each had different temperatures, as well. The sides are large enough to share and go back for seconds. (The mushroom risotto was very nice) A bottle of nice wine for $28 is a great price. The service was attentive. The one thing keeping this from a 5 star experience was the waitress didn't tell us the special, which ended up being the Filet with lobster tail. We would have gotten that. I also take some blame for not asking. I WILL go back. Great dinner for a good price. read more

Always a good experience at The Pointe. There is a good amount of choices on the menu. Service is always great. We had John who was delightful. Usually have a waitress who has been working there for years. I forget her name, but she is equally as pleasant. Steaks were delicious. Love the filet or sirloin served Oscar style. First time dinner at the Pointe, which was recommended. Our 46th anniversary and was looking for something special and a little more upscale than the local steakhouses. We showed on time, were seated immediately, and Jade took over, making our evening the best in years. Her recommendations from wine, to dinner, to sides, were all terrific. She then surprised us with an anniversary dessert. The chicken was well prepared and the risotto was divine. The calamari appetizer was great-not too heavily breaded. Went here for my birthday dinner on Saturday. Very good time at the casino before and after dinner so that helps add to the experience all around. We had a party of 6 and we did bring 3 bottles of wine to enjoy with our dinner. Service was spotty for the pricey menu, but I don't have to many specific complaints. Started dinner with some apps for the table (Calimari, Shrimp Cocktail, Tomato Flatbread, Short Rib Raviolis) which all were good. Sauce with the short rib rav was a hit, Shrimp were large and cooked nicely. Next course was a salad course - I had the Wedge Caesar salad and my sister and boyfriend shared the Pear & Walnut salad. Salads are definitely large enough to share. The Caesar salad is like a combo of a classic wedge and Caesar salad - different but pretty good nonetheless and they do have anchovies in house. Entree course was next with variety of different dishes ordered - Lisa had the twin lobster tails, Russ had the New York Strip, my mother had the Chop Salad, I had the 20 oz bone in Ribeye done Oscar Style ($18) with a lobster tail ($8) and my sister and her boyfriend shared the double cut porkchop. The only complaint I heard from the table was the the porkchop was slightly over cooked. Other than that, everyone was happy, the steaks were cooked perfectly, and the lobster tails sweet and tender. Sides for the table included Lobster Mac n Cheese, Mushroom Risotto, Creamed Corn, Mashed Potatoes, and Asparagus with the first 3 listed as being the hits. After dinner they brought out an awesome chocolate dessert for my birthday and they brought enough for the whole table so that was nice. I would definitely return and recommend to friends. read more

Extremely disappointing. My girlfriend and I came down to wheeling for a nice adult night out. Made reservations at the pointe and that turned out to be a huge mistake. It took over an hour to get our food from the time we ordered until it hit the table (which the manager said was normal). We ordered a 32 oz ribeye, medium, but it came out med well to well down and cold. We also ordered lobster Mac and cheese, which was also cold, Salt with a side of asparagus, and a loaded baked potato that we didn't have the courage to try. My recommendation is go to the food court or buffet, you will get a lot better meal for a lot cheaper price. read more

As most you don't expect much from a local casino dining room but I was pleasantly surprised with the Pointe's menu selection and the preparation of the food. If you know what you like and enjoy trying new things don't let your server talk you out of trying any combination of protein with the various sauces they offer. I had the fish with a mushroom demi-glace and it was fantastic. I will say that this was a working dinner and not on my dime, I may not have given four stars if I had to foot the bill as the portions were small for the prices they charged.
