Tried the pastel sunshine, the butterfly Vanilla and Royal Milk teas... they were all delicious! Had reduced sugar on all of them. Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance was very chill , could definitely come here to study or just hang with friends. Will definitely visit again !

hong kong milk tea + great study ambiance!

I love West Straws! I'm so glad that Lubbock has a small privately owned boba shop. Of course I enjoy some of the corporate ones, but it's nice to support local businesses, and West Straws makes it easy to do so. Their teas are so fresh and delicious, they have a HUGE menu including specialty drinks so if you like to try new ones, you'll have a lot to choose from, and everything I've had from them has been great. Their boba is ALWAYS fresh, which can't be said for some of the chain shops at times. They have a cute little indoor area, it's a bit narrow but they've always had plenty of tables when I went. I've studied there twice and the atmosphere was really good for that, but it's also nice for people coming to chat with friends. They have a couch / comfy seating area as well, so you have seating options. Writing this review is making me want to visit right now. Highly recommend!! The Hong Kong milk tea was delicious, as well as the royal milk tea and thai tea - I'm looking forward to my next visit so I can try something else, which I'm sure I'll love!

This is the first boba place I have encountered that offers both great boba drinks and the type of atmosphere where you'd want to meet up with a friend or date and stay awhile. Nothing in Austin or the other places I have encountered compare. They offer a great variety of boba drinks including several with earl grey which I confess is my weakness. On a recent visit I had a Lavender London Fog with Boba and my son had the Mai Tai (non alcoholic) with Boba. The boba was not the best i have had but it was pretty solid and I loved it in my London Fog. This was such a relaxing spot that we decided to stay and play a round of chess while we enjoyed our drinks. In addition to several tables with chess boards they also have several other good casual games including Blokus. The tables are cute and the chairs are comfortable and there is even a small couch if you are lucky enough to snag it. I'd definately return here the next time I find myself in Lubbock.

Amazing selection of flavors, super friendly staff, and a gorgeous little location. My personal favorite tea is anything with taro in it, but you can really mix and match anything! They have slushes, milk teas, regular teas, smoothies, and even macarons. This is my go to spot for boba. It's also conveniently pretty much a straight line drive from LCU if that's where you happen to be.

We made a quick stop over and ordered taro coco smoothie with sea salt cream for me and for my hubby wintermelon and additional crystal boba but sad to say I didn't get any boba ‍found out when we already left and on our way home tsk

I love West Straw. Their drinks are so delicious, and their people are even kinder! We have been going all them time since we were introduced. They are awesome!!

Worst Boba in town and the Macarons are store-bought. Do not recommend. The cashier was nice though.

I love that they have non-dairy options, both as an alternative to milk and to whey protein. I also love that they blend real fruit into their smoothies. Bonus points for not using styrofoam cups. And last I checked they will even pour into your own cup. Prices are a bit on the high side from my point of view. That said, I don't think they are any higher than other smoothie joints. The only reason we decided to walk in was because our son really loves the experience of looking at a menu and ordering, he's a curious, independent kid and likes exploring his world, just like any other child. When we walked in we could immediately feel our presence not wanted, which is whatever, who cares. It's the fact that they as a group followed us to the cashier spot with the cashier and silently stared as we tried looking at the menu. I assume they were just wanting to hear what our order was, but do the people who work here not understand social cues? I don't understand why they think that's normal behavior. It was completely unnecessary and just very uncomfortable. They should probably learn how to do their job (or any job) in a way that's not so off-putting because they come off as rude, unpleasant people. Usually I feel bad for being a customer who walks in because literally nobody wants that when they are working a shitty job. This time, I don't feel bad ruining their time because this group completely ruined my time too. The funny thing is I did nothing to them and was just wanting to get a smoothie with my family.

In my never-ending journey to find the best latte, there are only a few places I consider supremely…read morethe best of the best. Maybe it is college nostalgia or maybe it's just the foundation they built me on, but Monomyth in Lubbock, Texas, is easily some of the best coffee I have ever had. Located off Broadway in a tiny house, Monomyth opened its doors in 2019. It took me until the summer after my sophomore year in 2022 to try them. Rookie mistake. The interior is this beautiful light wood mixed with white walls, white metallic chairs, and touches of red throughout the building. It's simply cozy. It feels like a coffee shop in a house because truly that's all it is. Every beverage I've had at Monomyth, I've enjoyed. My standard weapon of choice is a hot lavender latte with oat milk, which is always served in a beautiful red ceramic cup. Sometimes I'll go for iced beverages. I tried an espresso tonic there for the first time and hated that espresso could have bubbles, but found myself ordering it time and time again throughout the summer. Their fall Firefall Latte is fantastic, and often, I find myself going back to their seasonal menus because they have it down to a science. I think espresso-based drinks have to be espresso-forward to the right degree. I've had many lattes that are too flavorful and sugary or too milky. Monomyth seems to nail the ratio every time, making their hot drinks balance perfectly from the flavor shots to the milk to the espresso rooted at the bottom of the cup. It's like 2000s Spurs basketball, where everyone on the floor is assisting. They also bring in pastries from the local Brûlée Bakery, which includes kolaches, homemade Pop-Tarts, cinnamon buns, muffins, almond croissants, and more. I find Monomyth one of the best places to work. Their atmosphere is excellent, their staff is super accommodating, and there is just this bubble of productivity going around the place even more so than your average coffee shop. Many textbooks were read at Monomyth, many essays were written at Monomyth, I scripted at Monomyth, I did remote work at Monomyth. If a task can be done on a computer, it should be done at Monomyth. When you go there often enough, you start meeting the regulars, and they all have great stories to share. You start to feel like part of the neighborhood. I can't recommend Monomyth enough. When I visit, I always have to bring a bag of their freshly roasted beans back to Hutto with me, and sometimes I make my girlfriend grab a bag when she comes to visit. My one piece of advice is to know that Friday mornings are always the busiest Monomyth will be. You may not even find a place to sit. Just be warned. Everyone I like in my life likes Monomyth. If you live in Lubbock, become a regular. If you're visiting, stop by. If you're neither, figure that out on your own time. RIYL: The best thing ever.
