This is absolutely the most pathetic excuse for a mall that I have ever seen. I came to the mall at 10/11 am and they already had food under heat lamps waiting to be bought. ICK!! If I could give this place 0 stars I would, but giving a negative review will do just fine. So, I am a sucker for crane games and whenever I have an opportunity to play I will drop a good amount of cash. I picked a crane game in the food court and the machines wouldn't take my dollar, so I walked over and noticed one coin machine that said tokens for carousel and move over to what I thought was a normal change machine with no sign that says tokens for carousel, The only signage it said was that the machine takes $1 bills. So I proceed and put in my dollar, nothing comes out and then the attendant says "it's $2" and like a normal person thinking hmm, maybe it's a certain amount I have to put it before it changes to quarters and so I put in another dollar and it spits out a damn golden token for the carousel!!! And then the attendant says "sorry, no refunds" WTF?! And then he says there's a regular change machine behind the candy cart... smdh, as though I'm suppose to be okay with the fact that he obviously doesn't care about what happened, the right thing he could've done was stop me at at the beginning or even at $1 and say it was for the carousel! And then he proceeds to tell me to ask a random person if they can change the token back into $2. I was so frustrated and obviously looked like a damn joke that I ended up giving the random person the token! Don't come to this mall and play the arcades unless you want your money to be unfairly taken from you. Good job Tracy Mall, makes sense why your mall is looking more and more like a glorified flea market. read more

The movie theater is great here! However, I would not go to 'The Prepaid Store', the workers are shady. I give them zero starts.

DO NOT GO TO THE teriyaki chicken place next to the movie theaters I believe it's called sensie, I ate their chicken today and just got out the hospital for food poisoning! I do not recommend it their at all . Now I have to miss work for 3 days and I feel horrible. When we first moved here in 2002, this mall seemed to be growing. Fast forward to the present, and this mall has lost some stores, and is just disappointing. Sure Macy's has arrived, but it's not that great. Also, there's a Sports Authority, Children's Place, and Kangazoom. But, it needs more. Luckily, there's a Target, Cinemark theater, and a Sears, plus other surrounding stores. I'm a Tracy resident, and I barely shop here. I'd rather go to the Paragon outlets or Vintage Faire mall. It seems that Tracy is afraid to attract other stores like Gap, Banana Republic, or Nordstrom Rack. Maybe, the rent is too high, or maybe the socio-economic status report doesn't see fit to bring stores like that. read more

For the past two years December through January. a special store comes. They sell hot items for kids like huge life size Kingdom Heart Keys, Yoshi, Angry Bird backpacks, small stuffed toys like Mario, Sonic, Naruto characters, Cookie Monster, etc. I think of them as knock offs because the colors aren't always right but to find Zelda items or affordable items like these is wonderful if you've got kids on your list who like video game characters. They also carry wallets, figures, pictures, swords, ornate dragon knives, lucky cats, lighters+. This is the only reason we come to this mall. This year we found two more stores we really liked. One is this man who has reptiles, huge snakes, small snakes, monitors, etc. It's beautiful! And the other was a kiosk guy who buys and sells all game consoles and games. Got to give an honorable mention to Hot Topic for selling some very hard to find items like Zelda balls, you don't know what figure you're going to get. They are worth a bunch and they sell them for nearly six dollars a piece. The kids play section is empty with a sign saying coming soon. The carousel in the eating area is always dark. The games at Tilt are rigged, yes, let your child pay five dollars to operate a claw machine that doesn't have a tight metal piece in it's whole construction. Or let them spend five more bucks on the 'giftcards' like $500, $100 etc. for Target, GameStop +. Impossible games for impossible prizes. Eating area has the Auntie Annie's pretzels where someone shouts out fresh pretzels every so often scaring people, along with Sbarro, Subway, chinese, Hot Dog on a Stick, DQ combo and something else. I like the movie theater here and there is a Hometown Buffet right outside along with other food places outside the mall. Frankly we come for the hard to find video game toys. The store this year was called DragonDen but they change it. Note to buyer, always look very carefully at what you are buying. And get a receipt. The kiosk game guy, he said he pays in cash too. I'm not sure about him yet but my children bought things from him they couldn't get elsewhere at great prices. I'd rather go to Modesto to do real shopping or eat. See's Candy, GameStop, Michaels, PetCo all nearby outside the mall. read more

Wow, where to begin. This should not be called a Mall. It's a building with about 1/4 shops closed as of this review. Others are on the way to be closed as is obvious upon visit. This "mall" is considered a family favorite amongst family things to do in Tracy. Really??? Wow. I don't which is sadder, the fact that it was actually voted this, or that people actually believe this. City Council needs to add real family entertainment to this town-this just proves it. read more

We really enjoy this mall for the kids do have fun there, and the mexican restaurant at the food court is delicious. But my goodness their Mall Security is a little heavy handed. We sit in the play center and watch 13 year olds leap off the dog house in the play center, nothing is said, Teenagers making passionate love in the middle of the mall, nothign is said. Domestic disturbance in the food court, nothing is said. But one time we didn't know the Mall closed early on a holiday, we are innocently sitting there drinking our Orange Julius on a bench, and mall security acted like we were harden criminals looking for trouble! LOL I mean come on, lighten up. We didn't know the mall was closing! I'm a former 911 dispatcher and now a government secretary, not a trouble maker. Now I always check to see what time the mall closes before we go there... don't want to break any mall closing rules yanno? Maybe they could post a sign or signs when they intend to close early. Other than that, it is a really fun mall and we enjoy it alot. read more

I had high hopes for this mall a couple of years back when the city of Tracy spent a bunch of money to woo Macy's into opening in the former Gottschalks space. However, despite the improving economy, this mall is just getting worse and worse, and is no longer a viable option for my shopping needs. I went to Macy's a couple of weeks ago, and the clothing department was in such disarray and picked over that it looked like a clearance rack at Ross Dress for Less the day after Black Friday. Everything on the racks seemed like either a one-off or there world be 13 in size XL. Sears and JC Penney both look like they've got one foot in the grave as well -- they look old, dated, dingy and crummy. You can tell that the owners of both these stores have basically written these locations off, and the only reason they're still open is because the mall's owners are probably leasing the space for next to nothing. The rest of the stores in the mall, aside from Target, Sports Authority, and a handful of chain stores that have remained since the mall first opened, are basically no-name junk stores that sell low quality, low end merchandise. Sad to say, but I can definitely see this becoming a "zombie mall" in the next few years. Sears and JC Penney will likely go under, leaving two out of three department store tenants empty. At some point, it may make more sense to just demolish portions of the property and redevelop it into a smaller outdoor shopping center that actually fits the current times. Ironically, the area outside the mall is improving, with the recent addition of Red Robin, while the mall itself languishes. read more

Fay's Sports Memorabilia has asolutely the worst customer service! My hubby was gonna snap a picture in the store and the two workers yelled at him "No photos!" He quickly apologized and put his phone away. They then watched us making us feel like they thought we were gonna steal something, We couldn't wait to get out of there fast enough! As we were leaving , the short lady rudely said, "the sign says no photos!" I responded that we didn't see it (it's not displayed in a prominent place) and my hubby did apologize. She started arguing with me and raising her voice! I have never shopped in a store where it felt like I was being profiled. It was a sad experience for for my kids to witness. I checked their facebook page and they've posted photos of their merchandise...so much for their licensed apparel copyright argument, they're such hypocrites! If I could give this store a zero, I would. Don't shop here if you're a person who's not white, you'll probably be watched like a hawk! West Valley Mall management, I hope you follow through on my complaint and talk to them about their behavior and customer service as you stated you would. read more

This is a nice to OK mall. Nice open space at the food court. Good security. Good place to hang out. My complaint is that if the mall management is going to offer and advertise free wi-fi, it should at least be a wi-fi that works. Right now it is "just there" but not functional. 2 stars for target, Macy's, Sears, and JC Penny's even though they are small. However it's becoming frustrating to have a high turn around for other stores inside the mall. i like going shopping.. i find what i need and isn't crowded even on the weekends....but i have to say if they want more buisness then they need to install parking lot cameras. so that they catch the people responsible for breaking into cars..people need to feel safe knowing that personal property is being damaged while doing shopping.. read more

Anytime I am in tracy I bring my daughter to this mall. She loves the carousel, and they have a cute little playground for kids, which is nice. They also just got a new place called kangazoom which is great for the little kids. The mall is not that big, and there are not that many stores. They do have a good food selection though and I enjoy going there. read more

This mall has a few good stores, but is not living up to its potential. There is Aeropostale, American Eagle, Charlotte Russe, Bath & Body Works, and Victoria's Secret that are worth shopping at, but one whole side of the mall is almost empty, and they keep putting lame stores in that only last a couple of months. We don't need another furniture store or cheap fashion knock-off store, what we need are better stores like Macy's and Forever 21 to attract more shoppers and keep the mall alive. Target as an anchor store isn't cutting it. read more

This 4th of July my wife and I went into the mall, she was looking for earrings. She started to walk into a small jewelry store that was crowded. I said I will wait for you outside the store. Moments later I looked down the mall and saw a security guard headed right at me. His eyes were trained on me. This security guard came up to me and asked "what are you doing here?" I said to him I am waiting for my wife and he walked off. I am a 66 year old dressed very normal. No reason for this security guard to approach me at all. As for the mall, it has just about had it, so many stores are closed and what stores are left just do not carry much merchandise of interest. Now there is a Sport authority going in, just a few miles down I5 is another Sports Authority right in the same mall is a Big 5. Another few miles away is Bass Pro. I can not see this store making it under these conditions. read more

This review is strictly just for the JCPenney located in the mall. I particularly really enjoy coming to the West Valley Mall, our family frequents it almost once a week. However, today we went to JCPenney for their discounts as advertised and had to wait in a very slow line. No biggie. Maybe 15 minutes after we left we noticed they charged us incorrectly on both items we bought so we went back to address the issue. We stood in line while the cashier spent over 10 minutes trying to convince 1 customer to sign up for their credit card. We soon became impatient and went to the cashier on the other side of the store and waited another 10 minutes in line. When we finally got to the cashier we told her what had happened and she would not even try to help us. She said she couldn't help us because she'd have to walk over there to check the signs. Luckily I had taken pictures before we got in line and showed them to her but that still wasn't enough to make us worth her time. She continued to tell us to go back to the other cashier because she had a line. By this time our patients had been worn, let alone the patients of our infant and toddler who were now acting up so we had to leave. In short the service here was horrible. They purposely cheated us out of our money, their staff did not have either proper training in the knowledge of their items, efficiency, or customer service. Definitely not family friendly. I will not be coming back to JCPenney, at least not this one. read more

ive been goin here ever since i was a kid. i used to hate watching my mom shop for clothes and i only wanted toys like barbies and stuff. i always wondered why my mom took so long. and now that im older i have figured it out. because the stores arent that great. (well most of them) theres only a couple of good stores. i also like the carousel because little kids can enjoy something that are in usually in faraway amusment parks. and the movie theatre. we go there when we dont want to drive all the way to dublin so we just go in tracy. that is why i give it a 3 star. star 1: some of the good stores but i still think they shouldnt have closed old navy, whats the point? star 2: because of the carousel. star 3: because of the movie theatre. other than that nothing else. oh! i forgot barns & obles. i would give the whole thing 3 and a half stars but i cant do the half. suckish. so if somebody gave me a million dollars and told me i could only spend it in the west valley mall here in tracy or the stoneridge mall in dublin, i would have to go with the stoneridge mall. read more
