I like to rate restaurants based on three elements: food, service, and atmosphere. West Woods has a good menu and we enjoyed our entrees (steak as well as fish). The team working the tables are friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a nice ambiance. While our warm food could have been warmer when it arrived, the food was flavorful and the portions are good. I would recommend the restaurant for social gatherings given the location and experience. read more

Once again, the management is making decisions that are impacting what used to be a great place to go. Key staff are being pushed out with fewer hours and poorer shifts. Younger, inexperienced staff are being shown preference. Local regulars are frustrated with the evolution. Reads like the unprofessional, inexperienced individuals are being given the full reign to ruin a place to the ground without city oversite. Very sad to watch. read more

I'm actually quite surprised by the lack of good reviews! We were visiting family who said they enjoy this place often. They were busy because it was one of the first amazing weather days of spring, so the bar was a bit slow but that is hardly a complaint. Our table ordered off the Mexican menu. The salsa app was great - red is the best! The shrimp fajitas were awesome - shrimp seasoning was the best I had with the squeeze of lime being an excellent finish! Kids chicken tenders were "amazing" per my daughter. Others had the burrito. The drinks are great too! The hosts and hostesses were kids and incredibly polite. The wait staff was great too! Great golf, but the restaurant is terrible. Our waiter/bartender, Tyler, was unwelcoming, rude and rushed us around. Upon arrival, we requested the game to be put on and you would have thought we asked him for his first born the way he was put out by the request. It was pretty disappointing. He would ask us a question and literally walk away from our table before we could answer and practically threw our to-go boxes at us. Not sure what is going on, our food was fine, but not noteworthy. This is my second time here (came once last fall for happy hour), and tonight had dinner here, and it was seriously the BEST Mexican I have had yet in Colorado!! We sat outside and the views of the golf course and mountains are beautiful, with the sunset and warm breeze blowing, it was a great atmosphere. We all ordered drinks which were great! We got the chips and guacamole, which was a very generous portion of each and the BEST I have had anywhere in a long time (even in California!) I got the chimichanga and it was delicious!! A bit small, but flavor was amazing as well as the pinto beans and rice on the side. We will definitely be back often, and will bring friends and family here!! New clubhouse is nice but the food has really gone downhill! Got the table side guac... at "market price" ($12.99 in case you are wondering), it was terrible. May as well have just rated some chunks of avocado. Entrees were more of the same. So so wings- 8 per order, chicken tortilla soup with tons of oil in it and a very bland wedge salad. The only thing that was good was the chicken tenders. Pretty hard to screw those up. We used to love coming here and sitting on the patio and having a drinks and dinner while the sunsets. Redonkulous prices and really bad food have derailed that plan for the future. Hope they fix it soon! read more

After the long awaited Reno to the clubhouse, we were excited to go have a meal. Before it closed, we would walk over at least 2 times a month and get dinner and lunch. The new club house space is a great improvement, but unfortunately the menu was not part of it. There are a few menu changes, but the level of food is the same. The substantially increased prices can't be justified for mediocre food. Missed opportunity to finally get a good place for dining on a very underserved part of town. The problem with the menu is that is mostly Mexican food and there are four real Mexican restaurants within in 2.5 miles. In this part of Arvada we are restaurant poor meaning not many nice sit down places. I had hope when they did the remodel they would have remodeled the menu. Is it so hard to come up with new items on the menu. I also don't understand the "market price" of the guac. always $12.00 when avocado are in season the market price can't justify $12.00 and it is not that great either. Come on City of Arvada you built a great building but did nothing about the menu please give it a second look and make changes!! read more

Let me start by saying my review is not about the golf course or it's management. They are great and more than competent. Which I cannot say about the restaurant..... Absolute dumpster fire. I challenge anyone to find a restaurant in the entire metro area that is worse run. The bartenders are great, but they should fire everyone else from top to bottom and start over. If you're lucky enough to get seated (even though there are 10+ tables open), you'll be greeted with substandard service and expensive prices for what you get. I don't place all blame on the servers, they are only as good as the kitchen. However, my real problem is with the management and the host station. Let's talk about the host station first... They are the rudest people I have encountered in my time on Earth. They can't spell customer service so it would make sense that they can't provide it. I'm not sure where they found these troglodytes, but I would instantly upgrade this joint to 3 stars if they just staffed the host station with people who understand the service business. On to the management... It's completely mind-blowing that they can't pull it together. They can have an untapped corner on the market in this part of town if the gave any effort into running a business. There are no restaurants around and they could easily have a line out the door every night. But the reality is tables sit empty every night due to their incompetence. How much effort does it take to read online reviews and take action on obvious issues? This is the community spot but it is quickly being abandonded for BW3. Can you imagine people purposely driving past your restaurant to go to BW3? They should be embarrassed. They have an opportunity to cater to the community and to be the go-to place. But that will take a seemingly monumental shift in who they employ and how they do business. I will continue to play golf here and stop in for a post round beer and appetizer at the bar, but will no longer give the restaurant "another chance". Save your money and your sanity and go elsewhere. read more

We've been here twice since the remodel (and many times prior to that.) The remodel is beautiful - scenic, roomy and airy. However, that's where the positive changes stop. Service is still slow (although not as bad as before.) The food is just okay - many items appear to be dry. It feels like the restaurant is skimping on sauces, etc. I also have to mention an issue that I've noticed in my last two visits. The server comes around at some point to pick up glasses and take them back to re-fill. When they come back, it seems like they've given no attention to whose glass goes where. I actually asked the server if he paid attention to whether this was my iced tea or another member of the table and he admitted that he didn't pay attention. The 2nd time we went I just ordered water (carafes on table so I can pour my own). I noticed the server doing the same thing with drinks and there were many on the platter. I'm not saying it's not possible for them to know which glass goes where ... but it would be a neat trick with 10-12 glasses on the tray. Either re-pour refills from a pitcher or simply bring a new, fresh glass/drink. I will not be ordering drinks there until I see a change in this practice. Keep working at it, West Woods. Took the grandchildren for breakfast and had a great meal with large servings and fresh food. I love poached eggs and they were cooked to perfection! The bowl of fresh fruit was definitely fresh. The 4 & 2 year olds are big egg and pancake eaters and enjoyed both along with the sausage. Our server, Jack, was extremely attentive and spot on with our special requests. The new club house is very elegant, very neat and clean, spacious, and the view from our table was great! Can't wait for warmer weather to enjoy the golfers patio and outdoor seating areas. read more

We were pleasantly surprised that this country club was busy in the dead of winter. It makes sense though, as the food was fantastic, the wait staff was friendly and prompt, and the menu is reasonably priced. The tacos al pastor and cilantro chicken are worthy dishes, both generously proportioned. The margaritas weren't bad either! If you are looking for a relaxed outing without compromising quality, West Woods may be your place. Oh, and they're kid friendly. read more

Not a pleasant experience this a.m. went for breakfast with a friend wanting to enjoy nice weather outside. 8:30 and tables were locked up and told we would need to wait for that . Something about them not doing that until later .. and no umbrellas set up on tables until some others come and were asking for them ...really it is a golf course and they do offer breakfast. Lady at bar was not the most pleasant about it saying we were rude .. and the called us "darlin"!! The server we had was most pleasant however and meal was good ... certainly did not start out on a good note however! On another point ... the inside lighting is still terrible .. way to cafeteria look ..too bright .. not a good ambience feel in the evening ! Lots to try and like about the new place but not in the top of the list for something close like it used to be ! read more

This review echoes most of the other reviews. Poor food and poorer service. We have been to the restaurant three times in the past month, all at lunch or late afternoon. Mostly because we required a short turn around. Five smaller tables maximum sitting for food each time. We could count at least six servers and management so plenty of waitstaff to handle the diners. Seriously, I can't figure out if the cooks and the waitstaff are shooting a bucket of balls every time they disappear. They are gone for upwards of twenty minutes at a time with no drink refills or even a stop at the table. This happened on all three occasions with only 2-3 people sitting at my table. Food was low level hotel, vacation food at best. Which in our family means you wouldn't eat it unless you were out of other options. The food was poorly presented and bland, with the Mexican food all taking on a similar color and a similar light crust on the plate. Iced tea was some of the weakest ever presented. The good news was, since the servers were so laid back about getting to the tables we weren't able to drink bad iced tea. View and the dining room are very nice, but they can't make up for the poor food and service. Servers have a fair attitude but seem to be on autopilot in taking orders and serving tables. Even preparing the guacamole at table side at an up-charge is bland and without fanfare. Not worth the expense, your time or the laissez-faire attitude. read more

The prices have increased with no increase in quality. The service is marginal at best. Tonight we stopped in and were told there would be a 30 minute wait. We were ready to give up, and swore we wouldn't be back until the waitress told us they were changing the menu. So.... we went back out of curiosity. They added some chicken sandwiches and specialty burgers; however, most of the dishes were the same. What blew me away, is now you cannot get a regular burger without paying an additional $1 for cheese!!! That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. This place is so overpriced already, are you kidding me? Never going back. Just sad as we don't have a lot of choices in Arvada, and it is such a great location. I have been going to the clubhouse for a couple years now and they have great staff, good happy hour, and likely the best breakfast in West Arvada. For dinner I like the steak salad or caprese sandwich the best. The outdoor fireplace is awesome in the summer, and the golf course is generally in very good shape. read more

This morning we attempted to take our family to the clubhouse for Father's Day breakfast. It was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. We arrived at 10am and understood there was a wait. We were seated at 10:45. Ordered drinks and food right away and were told the kitchen was behind. We waited patiently for an hour and 45 min before we left without our food being served. Our waiter (Matt, nice kid) tried to make it as comfortable as possible but your manager or hostess was unhelpful! I watched 3 tables leave. Our friends had a large group and said they were furious that their meals took 1 hour and 45 minutes and then were wrong. I have been in 5 times, each time hoping for a better experience because we have loved the clubhouse over the years. We have been customers for 20 years. We love seeing our neighbors and visiting with everyone but I am incredibly frustrated and furious with the service. Also the new prices are significantly higher and the food is not as good as it was before the Reno. As we were leaving one of your younger waiters said "we don't need you here anyway" which in turn was met with some angry words from my husband and my 75 year old mother-in-law! Your manager (maybe hostess) stepped in some how acting like waiting 2 hours was the norm, (when we left there were only 4 tables including us-an almost empty restaurant) She was rude and condescending to all of us but specifically my 75 year old mother-in-law. I am appalled with the treatment we received. Not even an apology. The kitchen is failing miserably which in turn puts the staff in a very bad situation to attempt to handle angry customers. The customer service is terrible. Everyone I have talked to has had a similar experience. It is a disaster! The city has spend a small fortune on this renovation and its beautiful! We would love to be able to enjoy it but at this rate it will fail! Today our Father's Day was ruined! My son came down from college just for the day to spend it with his grandfather and dad. After we left West Woods we found another restaurant to have lunch. We missed breakfast altogether. I had scheduled a tee time for the boys and we missed that as well. Today's experience at the clubhouse was a terrible experience. It also made a day to celebration nothing but a frustration! Call the Arvada Center to complain. (I sent an email and made 3 calls today no one has responded!) We would love to have our clubhouse back. But for now, spend your money elsewhere! read more

We really enjoy going to the West Woods Grill. Their cocktails are really inexpensive compared to other restaurants in the area. And we have always been very happy with the food. When they first opened the service was sketchy. But we have found the new employees to be very polite and friendly. I have had the salmon, and flatbread. My husband enjoys several of the Mexi dishes. We always have West Woods on our mental list when we think of going out for dinner or a happy hour. read more

The new remodel looks great, aside from the lights being so bright the last time I went in, that I felt I was in a cafeteria. The food on the other hand, has gone downhill. Prices sky rocketed, and the quality just Isn't there. My family and I used to come here about twice a week for dinner or lunch, but now we just pass. Paying as much as we did the last time we came in for the poor quality of food and service, we did not think it was worth it to come back. Would love to see changes in the quality of the food and service. Portions were much smaller, even the salsa was not tasty! I ordered the classic salpicone salad and half the listed ingredients were left off. We have been here a few times because it's about the only walkable restaurant near our house. The good news is that the drinks are typically good. The table side guacamole is also good. Bad news is that the service is slower than slow and the rest of the food here is not that great. Our foursome of golf always stops in for a beverage and the fries after a round. The fries are a 9 or 10 depending on the day, based on a 10 scale. They have a crisp outer coating and are heavenly. The glasses they provide with beer are also nice and cold. The combination bartender/waiter was very pleasant and had a good sense of humor. This was my last golf round of the year, but it's pretty good being able to play on November 28. I'd recommend Westwood for golf, beer and fries. That's all I've had there. read more
