Laid back, best burger I've had in years, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. Depending on the evening there's always something special happening, Musicians, Ladies Night, Handmade Jewelry to browse, Karaoke.

Went to this spot on our first day to Denver and it got the job done I'd say. The place has an Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash themed vibe to it, which is pretty cool. The menu is quite small with some sandwiches and burgers. I got the "Wanda Jackson" which is a chicken sandwich. It was good size and it tasted solid. My only con on the spot was the service was quite slow. Overall 4 stars.

Stage, love music on the weekends!

Decided to come back to check-out the revamped ROCK-A-BILLIES after, the recently aired (3/5/2023) episode of Bar Rescue that featured this restaurant NOW called ROCK-A-BILLIES Retro Bar. The menu has many options that are very suitable for higher quality bar food. The interior is well done. The rescue didn't include the restrooms tho. The vibe was very old Vegas with great music selection. No to loud. The owner was the first to sorta greet us, little cold with the welcome. I mentioned we had come to check-out the Bar Rescue. No further interaction for the rest of the visit. 2pm free customers in the establishment. Correction: Owner thanks is as we were leaving. The service was good. Friendly staff, and service was in a reasonable time for drinks, and food timing. Once we got the check it took a little while for the server to come back to pick up the to close out. Not a big deal tho. She apologized so that's a easy overlook. I had the Johnny Cash Philly Dip sandwich with great shoestring fries. I would order again. Other guest had the buffalo chicken salad. It was a letter portion sided salad. Decent amount of chicken and tasty.

Set in an unassuming strip mall is a locals-centric, honky-tonk of a beer bar (and grill). I stopped by late the other weekend to catch one of my new favorite bands (Shelvis and the Roustabouts). They were packed in the corner while well-worn couples danced dangerously close to tables and chairs. Elsewhere in the bar, others conversed in near shouts to be heard over the rousing songs. A steady parade of smokers trekked to and from the patio. All in all, everyone seemed to be having a mighty good time. My beer was cold. The bartenders were slammed, but keeping up. The energy was palpable. I believe I will be back for a burger and a band.

Tonight the service was good with Eric and Chelsea, but the food was a salt lick!! The deviled eggs were the exception. They were delicious! The scallops were near inedible they were so salty but the prep was good. The steak was chewy and salty. The burrata cheese pasta and fried chicken were just ok. The chicken dish was good and the pot roast left was underwhelming. The fig drink was a cavity waiting to happen and beyond acidic. As a Friday night at 7 the place was half full and it's heartbreaking. The potential to be as good as they used to be is there but changes need to be made. It's a great location, cozy place and the wait staff is great. I want to be your biggest fan, but you're making it hard serving inconsistent food.

With lots of folks thinking the same thing, we slipped in and grabbed a buzzer to keep us company for the 15 minute wait. Just a short 10 minutes later, we sat down at a four top and soon had four massive mason jars of water sliding across the table to us. I had been eying their Cucumber and Fire cocktail while waiting and it didn't disappoint. The refreshing cucumber balanced the jalapeño really well. Yum. The parents split a fabulous looking French Dip and rated it well (4 outta 5 stars). Their massive fans and we're looking for a bit more flavor in the horseradish dip for a perfect score. Not bad. Me? I ordered the Melted Monk sandwich with tomato bisque. I nixed the kettle chips. Absolute fan of the bisque. I could have had a gallon of it - really flavorful with great mouth feel. So good. I wasn't a fan of the Melted Monk sandwich, but also wasn't sure how the green apple slices would pair with the caramelized onions and raclette cheese, on cranberry walnut bread. Sounded interesting. Not bad, but wouldn't order it again. That aside, I'm still a fan. Teller's has always been a great choice and I'll return to some of my favorites next time. Never hurts to try something new! My guy raved about his Ahi Burger, and man, it was so much food. His tots were so good! I'm likely ordering this next time. Also - I almost forgot! The oysters were amazing - under fresh, if you can believe it. Teller's gets 6 deliveries a week of seafood. It totally shows. Yum.

We just made it a few minutes before the end of happy hour and was able to give the Pork Green Chili Cheese Fries and the Fried Pickles a try. Amazing prices for their happy hour too! We had burgers, the salmon risotto and the steak sandwich. Everything was so tasty. If I had to absolutely nitpick, the fried pickle is the chip style that I love but it was way over seasoned. When the Latina in the group tells you it's too salty, that's telling you something. I tried the pickle on the burger and it was already brined salty, then if you bread that and fry it and then season it... it was unbelievably salty.... Overall the salmon was well cooked, the burgers juicy and the steak sandwich super tender. The bar decor was super pretty and the service amazing.... I would definitely be back and highly recommend to check out their happy hour!

They are also dog-friendly which is a fun feature, but we went on a busy day and there were a bunch of dogs inside and outside, which I have to wonder if so many animals are indoors does this become a food safety issue? I will say our server was very nice, but the food was sub par to say the least. The items we ordered were severely under seasoned. They were quite bland and lacked any depth of flavor. The items on the menu had average prices to them, so there was no sticker shock on that end but, when did restaraunts start charging extra for sides of ranch?! It's not enough to cover your restaraunt costs with the $25 burger I just ordered? This restaraunt is located in a touristy town, so I'm sure they get all the traffic they need, but as a local I will not be back!

Every Saturday night there is either professional stand up comedy, an open mic or both! Howie's is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. No offense intended, but Howie's almost makes Rockabillies, look fancy :-) The drinks here are very reasonably priced. I appreciate that they always have a big, cold, frosted mug for my draft beer consumption. I also think it's cool that somebody built a claw game machine full of empty white claw cans where you can win a full white claw :-) (very meta) It has all the TVs you would expect at a small sports oriented establishment. I always run into locals and regulars sitting at the bar when I come here. They come for the companionship, the cheap drinks, and local denver sports teams. However, sometimes on a Saturday night, they may be in for a pleasant, or unpleasant, surprise ... The main draw for me here has to be the Saturday night comedy. They have an open mic night at Howie's most Saturday nights. I am fairly addicted to this particular open mic. I've seen people here who have barely ever done comedy. Some of them are amazing, and some of them really need the practice. I've seen up and comers. I've seen diamonds in the rough. I've seen comedy veterans trying out new material. I've seen visiting comedians, who just popped in to do some time. Dylan Kantor (Cloudy Eyed Comedy) puts on a great show. Aside from this, they do on occasion have planned shows, where they bring in a curated panel of Joke-slingers. I think the last one I went to for West Arvada Comedy night had Jacob Rupp as headliner. It was a great (and free) show. Yep, you can catch comedy at other places, but West Arvada is very convenient for some people, the parking is ample and free, and there's no cover charge. All the funny AND affordable booze??? Count me in.
