Great local bar and eatery nice friendly atmosphere seating inside and out , they even have bands that play on certain days! We had the Johnny Cash delicious sandwich with au jus for dipping which increased the flavor! The pony boy burger cooked to perfection with all the accompaniments it was quite flavorful and the perfect amount ordered some onion rings, which were nice and crispy just the way we like them. Kaylee was our server and she was outstanding and very busy running the bar and taking orders. She did a great job. Next time we're in Arvada will definitely come back. Try some more of your fantastic food. I don't think anything you eat there you can go wrong. read more

Went into this restaurant to get some food and a drink. Sat at the bar for 10 minutes while three of the servers stood behind the bar chatting and did not serve me. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and while I believe chatting with your coworkers is totally fine, ignoring your customers at the bar is frustrating. After waiting for 10 minutes, I was so disappointed I ended up just leaving. This is not the first time I've tried coming in to get some food and drink. I believe in giving restaurants second and third chances, but after this last and final experience I won't be back and will encourage others to go elsewhere. I also want to acknowledge they don't allow dogs on the patio for legal reasons (which I absolutely understand) however, there was a person who has their dog with them inside the patio area. Went to this spot on our first day to Denver and it got the job done I'd say. The place has an Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash themed vibe to it, which is pretty cool. The menu is quite small with some sandwiches and burgers. I got the "Wanda Jackson" which is a chicken sandwich. It was good size and it tasted solid. Seriously one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever eaten - fresh patty perfectly cooked medium with fresh and crisp toppings and accompanied by their famous tater tots. The hand battered fried mushrooms were delicious and the huge slice of fresh carrot cake was the perfect ending to a fun night. Decided to come back to check-out the revamped ROCK-A-BILLIES after, the recently aired (3/5/2023) episode of Bar Rescue that featured this restaurant NOW called ROCK-A-BILLIES Retro Bar. The menu has many options that are very suitable for higher quality bar food. The interior is well done. The rescue didn't include the restrooms tho. The vibe was very old Vegas with great music selection. No to loud. The owner was the first to sorta greet us, little cold with the welcome. I mentioned we had come to check-out the Bar Rescue. No further interaction for the rest of the visit. 2pm free customers in the establishment. Correction: Owner thanks is as we were leaving. The service was good. Friendly staff, and service was in a reasonable time for drinks, and food timing. Once we got the check it took a little while for the server to come back to pick up the to close out. Not a big deal tho. She apologized so that's a easy overlook. I had the Johnny Cash Philly Dip sandwich with great shoestring fries. I would order again. Other guest had the buffalo chicken salad. Thank you for coming to town Jon! Here is my latest Yelp review. The only reason I'm writing this review is because Jon Taffer is here to do a bar rescue to this place. I sure do hope it works!! I live directly across the street and only come here when I'm alone. I would never bring my wife, family, my buddies for happy hour, a date or anyone that has any kind of class. Let me list a few reasons for this. First off the staff. There is clearly no leadership team here. No owner or any sense that that any, one person is in charge. The food is definitely hit or miss. The staff know the regulars and regulars know the staff. I have ordered Bacardi and Coke here before and got sick from the cheap stuff they poured in the Bacardi bottle. The place has a great theme and a ton of potential, but I have the feeling that after Jon does his miracle work the place will go right back to the way it was. Kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. I have a ton of love for Jon, supporting locally owned and my neighborhood. I will be the first to go in and try the entire breadth of the place when completed, and will be the first to write about a business owner who takes advantage of Jon, his training and knowing what your guests want and deserve. read more

The place itself has nostalgic decor and good music playing. We went for an impromptu family dinner. Three of us ordered burgers and one had the grilled cheese. The burger patties were not seasoned, letting the toppings do the job. The top bun was grilled, but the bottom one was cold. Fries and tater tots were as expected. My daughter's grilled cheese had beard hairs in it. She lost her appetite after that discovery. I don't know that we will be back. read more

Set in an unassuming strip mall is a locals-centric, honky-tonk of a beer bar (and grill). I stopped by late the other weekend to catch one of my new favorite bands (Shelvis and the Roustabouts). They were packed in the corner while well-worn couples danced dangerously close to tables and chairs. Elsewhere in the bar, others conversed in near shouts to be heard over the rousing songs. A steady parade of smokers trekked to and from the patio. All in all, everyone seemed to be having a mighty good time. My beer was cold. The bartenders were slammed, but keeping up. Visited on a Saturday for their brunch menu. Was looking forward to several of the beers they had listed on their site but was notified that they didn't have any of the ones I wanted and that the site was never updated. Not a big deal. Service was great but the good was not. I ordered a Belgian waffle that said it came with strawberries and whipped cream and my husband got a chicken sandwich. My waffle was delivered without strawberries or whipped cream. They did offer to put whipped cream on it but I declined. No mention of the strawberries. My husband's food was, in his words, "okay." He had to add a ton of mustard to it to give it flavor. Three stars for service but I won't be returning. read more

Heard this place got a make over so thought I would stop by and give it another chance. They decor is now retro inside and looks really nice! The service and food quality is the same as my first experience. There was one waitress and one bartender for a fairly busy Sunday evening. The waitress didn't write our orders down so some of orders were not correct, like we had received someone else's order instead. The kids meals were perfect size and great. I don't recall being asked how I liked my burger cooked and it came out very rare. I didn't get the side salad I had requested and no pickle. My friend got a completely different burger than she had ordered. I'll be looking for another local joint to grab and pint and a burger at for next time. read more

I appreciate when a business tries to extend into different venues, such as when a bar tries to serve breakfast food. sometimes its good, sometimes its not. For my dinning experience here I would have to stick with the latter. When we arrived there was only one server/bartender that was in charge of the whole room which made service particularly slow. When the food finally arrived the hashbrowns were fried potato cubes, the toast looked and tasted like it was made from stale old bread, the bacon was dry and overcooked and the bottom of the eggs had a grayish film on them. read more

Had a Groupon brunch today, left a bad review on the Groupon app and they didn't post it because it would make them and Rockabillies loose money. Everything that could go wrong, did! I walked in for brunch around 10:30am and the place wasn't busy at all. I was thinking I would be in and out in no time. I was wrong. Food came out about an hour later. It was cold, bland and everything was over cooked. Service was slow and the waitress kept apologizing for forgetting to give me service. I was never asked how the food was, probably because they already know that it isn't good. Not sure how this place stays in business. The decor is really tacky and tasteless, even for a retro diner. Stopped in here for a quick drink and a small bite to eat. The place is super divey with a nice bar. Super rock a Billie just like the name. You can tell they have the same regular customers every day as everyone knew each other. The bartenders were super nice and had great customer service. We had a vodka tonic which was delish and tried their mozzarella sticks and wings and for bar food is was really good. The portion size on the food was pretty big. And the prices were very affordable The place was clean and the bathrooms were kept clean for being a dive bar. This is a weird, yet not completely bad dining experience. There are some very old people in the restaurant to take advantage of the $10.95 prime rib special. Old RATT is playing in the background from a jukebox and the walls are covered with a disjointed rock icon picture collection. The bar itself is packed, even though the dining area is not. Service = 3 out of 5 stars - I'm pretty sure the cook was slinging the food and drinks in the dining area because the bar-tender was busy taking care of people at the bar. The cook could use a little training in the customer service department, but, honestly, was generally thoughtful and prompt. Food = 3 out of 5 stars - This is bar food, but it's not too shabby. For all the times I've visited this joint, it has always been a good visit. Food is usually good and I like the look of the place. I have brought my four-year-old daughter here a number of times during the early part of dinner and it has worked out fine that way. She enjoys playing on the pinball machines. The wait staff has been kind to her as well, even offering her some coins for the machines for her to play one time. Later in the evening I would not recommend children, in fact I do believe there is an age cut-off when it reaches a certain time there. I do miss the restaurant that was there just before Rockabillies (it was an Italian restaurant by the name of Cucina Roma Roma), but I am glad that I ventured to try out this place. Diverse crowd. Eclectic decor. I am optomistic that other things on the menu are better than what I ordered. From Johnny Cash on one entire wall by the haphazard arcade area, to the family of 5 in their bronco gear on barstools, to the country music blaring from the jukebox and the combination of suits and thong hangin' out of sweatpants clad crowd, this place had me very confused. I acknowledge that Sunday afternoon is probably not a representative time of the day or week to experience a place that is known for their live music, but this place is a little strange in daylight. My medium-rare steak with mashed potatoes and fresh veggies seemed to take an inordinately long time to arrive from the kitchen. The steak was good and had a nice spice. The "fresh" veggies were obviously the frozen kind that come out of the bag, complete with the krinkle-cut carrots. The mashed potatoes were the most confusing part. They were so lumpy that they brought back memories of that Thanksgiving Friends episode where everyone wanted the mashed potatoes the way their mom made them, Phoebes with carrots and peas in them, Rachel's lumpy and OCD Monica's creamed into submission. Plus, they had lots of cheese in them. So much so that I wondered if they weren't just squished scalloped potatoes. I dunno, but they were weird, not particularly tasty, but interesting.I recommend you stick with the burgers. I dunno, I may find myself back here for the crawfish boil or some other special event. This was not your typical breakfast venue, i had the far daddy breakfast. Which consisted of 4 pieces of ham, 4 sausage links, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and 2 scrambled eggs, also some fried potatoes which menu said hash browns. Definitely a great bargain for all of the tasty food i received. The biscuits were a little crispy which made them taste even better. All of the food was hot and fresh. I tried a burger with bacon and Swiss cheese and thought that the meat was over cooked and the patty was smaller in circumference compared with the bun. The patty itself was tall but small in circumference. It made eating the burger difficult. The menu includes cocktails, burgers, sandwiches and salads. It took a while to be greeted after we seated ourselves in their booth. The decor is themed in a 50s rockabilly/music way and the place was fun by two workers (who manned the bar as well as the dining area). There is both indoor and outdoor dining. Met a few friends here who swore by The Infamous Rock-A-Billies Burgers and fried pickles. They didn't disappoint. The burgers are huge, juicy and savory. This day called for the Outlaw Burger, with fresh scorching jalapeños and pepper jack cheese sitting comfortable between two soft buns and resting on top of ripe tomatoes and crispy lettuce. The 1/2 pound burger was cooked to flawlessness. The salty crunchy fries were irresistible; they disappeared faster than an unattended bucket of candy at Halloween. Exceptional service! read more
