First time visit at Cochino Taco and everything went well. I love the idea of three different salsas for a basket of chips. Service was extraordinaire and awesome. Fuzzy Tacos! Stopped in with friends while on a cross country trip. Restaurant was highly recommended by a local (my sister). Our waiter was great, he was funny and answered all of our questions. This is probably the 4th or 5th time I have been to your restaurant. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your restaurant and the staff and service. The part of it I don't love is coming at 1 pm on a Tuesday and getting a parking ticket at 3:30. When I went to leave the entire street was empty. Not a single car parked on the street besides mine and my friends and we get a parking ticket when no one else is looking for a spot...?! I don't get it. We won't be back if we can't hang out for more than two hrs to enjoy company without a ticket. I despise Arvada for this reason. I would get if it was busy, maybe Friday, through Sunday. read more

Loved this place! This was our first visit. I stopped by earlier for a to go order and was helped by a very kind and friendly bartender. I was craving posole but they had run out so she recommended the tortilla soup and I'm so glad she did. Cochino Taco seems super underrated! I'm here, at the expense of attracting too many people to this location, to share our great and yummy experience at Cochino Taco because they deserve it. First off, they have happy hour every day from 11am-6pm, what a great deal. We sat out on the patio and ordered half happy hour, half regular menu. We started with the queso and wow it was tasty without feeling too heavy. The drinks were strong, but well balanced. We also tried a lot of tacos and they were all great - crunchy tacos, carne asada, al pastor, funky chicken and chicken tinga. The chicken tinga may have been the weakest one, but it was still acceptable. The servers were so friendly and attentive and I didn't check out the inside in detail, but the patio was fun and there seemed to be a lot of space inside. I already have plans to be back! Excellent, affordable food with a friendly atmosphere! My family went to Cochino Taco in Arvada on Saturday afternoon. They have a small parking lot off of Ralston and a large, dog friendly patio and a full bar. They offer happy hour from 11am-6pm everyday, which is the best happy hour I've ever heard of! They have cheap snacks, tacos and drinks offered at that time, as well as, the regular menu items. We ordered the Doritos nachos with ground beef ($5.50), 2 soft chicken tacos for our daughter ($6), she loved that they came in their own taco truck holder! A draft beer ($4) and a frozen strawberry margarita ($7) off of the Happy Time menu. We also ordered an appetizer from the specials menu, poblano and Birria eggrolls ($12). And from the regular menu we ordered the poblano queso burger ($16) and the campechano taco (chorizo and carne asada, $4.75). We shared everything and it was all delicious! We loved the taco and the egg rolls the best! Our server was friendly and they brought the food out whenever it was ready which worked great for us because we were sharing everything. The restaurant is not large so, I could see how it could fill up easily and be busy. But, it was not crowded when we were there and the service was fast. Tried Cochino for the first time and really enjoyed everything from sitting at the bar, chatting with the bartender to the food we tried. Ordered off the happy hour menu- Queso added chorizo and the chicken tinga soft tacos. Queso was great, I bet it would even be good without the chorizo but it did add a nice flavor. I loved the spice added to the crispy thin chips! The chicken soft tacos were ok. The chicken had nice flavor but the corn tortilla was a little greasy. It was lightly fried but still soft. Obviously a great spot for happy hour because it's like everyday and then families - kids menu! Food is not traditional Mexican or even typical street tacos. Flavors could be a little bit better. However get the tacos shaggy style to make up for it. They had beans and cheese on another tortilla. Makes them more filling! The avocado tostado was not my favorite. I found it overly salty and the tostado kind of soggy. The family friendly environment makes up for it along with the happy hour and great drinks! They have a small parking lot up front but spots fill up fast so don't be surprise if you have to find street parking. Also follow the time limit. Outstanding tacos. We had initially planned on hitting up the 303 ramen but this had our name on it and proved a mighty opponent. We had a bar tender that was also a server and host. The food is good and the service is incredible. The food can be greasy but that is what makes it amazing. The ambience is amazing you can sit outside of it is a nice day. If it is cold out you can sit inside or in there little inside outside room. The service is great people and friendly and dogs are allowed outside. Came here for happy hour based on the recommendation of a coworker. Very cool vibes spot right on the edge of Old Town. The food and drink specials were a really good deal - most things were $6! I got the frozen pina pina and a frozen margarita with passionfruit, both tasty and higher quality then what you'd typically get at HH for $6. Our table shared a starter of queso with chorizo (tasty) and the elote corn. I'm a fan of elote but this one didn't hit home for me - it almost tasted a little mustardy? This new location of Cochino Taco really hit the spot. My friend and I had been at a dog park not too far away and were starving. Thankfully they have a nice outdoor patio that allows dogs and they were quick to get us our food! They have a great happy hour everyday so we shared the queso and I order the beef tacos shaggy style (aka soft shelled taco wrapped in a flour tortilla with beans and cheese). The tacos weren't anything that you couldn't get anywhere else but they did hit the spot! The queso was definitely above average queso... nice and cheesy with a little bit of heat thanks to the sauce addition at the top. So far, I'm loving this place! Didn't get any photos as yet. I was just too hungry... And thirsty! For their opening month, they are only open Tuesday through Saturday, but Happy Hour lasts ALL DAY! At least, that's what the bartender told us. Here's what my man and I tried: Drinks: The beer selection is pretty limited. I had the Happy Hour Frozen Paloma and the Sunny Girl Seltzer with Raspberry. The Palomas are STRONG. Be careful, because you could easily drink far too many of these... SO YUMMY! The Seltzer was very good as well. I liked that they add the flavor to the unflavored seltzer. It's a cool spin on a recently overdone drink. They didn't have the Passion Fruit flavoring as yet, so I'll have to try that one at a later date. Food: Happy Hour Doritos Nachos - Smaller portion I'm guessing, but it was definitely enough for an app. Traded out the Beef for the Seitan and it was pretty darn good, and also fairly spicy. Also had the Cotija Cheese Skirt taco and the 3 Sisters Veggie Burrito to go. Loved the taco, but then I'm partial to griddled cheese. The burrito had really good taste, I'm just not a big fan of squash and there was quite a bit in there. I'd probably ask for less squash and more beans if I get it again. Their veggie green chili was BOMB though, so I'm going to be getting that on pretty much everything on the menu that I can in the future. The parking is extremely limited, so be ready to park at the Elks Lodge paid parking lot not too far down the street. First visit to this location, but I have been to the one on Broadway a few times. Unfortunately, there were some glaring differences in the quality and taste of the food. The good: The queso was spot on and comes served in a cast iron dish to keep it warm and is topped with pico, hot sauce and cilantro. The green chile tots were crunchy and smothered in flavorful chile. HH drinks were cheap and the frozen strawberry marg my wife had was good. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Not so good: The ratatouille tacos were very skimpy on the filling and came out cold. I know that these are happy hour tacos, but slightly more filling wouldn't hurt. The chips that came with the queso were over seasoned while the beef tacos were completely under seasoned (I scraped some of the chip seasoning onto the beef to flavor it). I'm being critical because their other location has been consistently good and I would expect the same from this location. I know this can be a great place if they dial in their food. The location is great and their patio space will be perfect in the summer time. For now, I will stick to the Broadway location. read more

The food here is awful! All random levels of heat, no flavor; green chile is a super thick almost gravy consistency with not even a hint of pork to be found in the version stated as having it. Came here after a softball game with May daughter. I had a variety of tacos which included tinga (chicken), Al cabron (pork), Al pastor, pork and barbacoa (beef). Of the four the tinga was okay and so was the cabron, but both were a little light on flavor. The pastor and barbacoa however were very tasty. My daughter got the mas nachos burrito with carne asada. She enjoyed it but was surprised to find out it wasn't nachos with chips. Hence it is under the burrito section, the mas nachos burrito is not nachos. :) service was most excellent and the food came out fast. read more

Ya...no. Wasn't what we wanted it to be and that's a huge bummer. Been eyeballing this place since the previous joint went out. My wife called an audible last Friday and we finally made it in. Space looks amazing and menu has potential -- service was lacking and food was subpar. However, happy hour! Not bad... good options for drinks and snacks. Cochinos recently opened their Arvada location and we were very pleased with our first experience. My boyfriend and I joked when we saw "another taco place" opening in the neighborhood, but I'd say their service and amazing happy hour prices will ensure competition against the other Mexican places in the neighborhood. The bartender Kelly was so friendly and offered exceptional customer service,They have all day happy hours everyday! Really great drinks for only $5!! We tried the evil Cheetos pork rinds (forgot to get a pand it was so yummy! Also has the salsa which was a 3 salsa sampler.
