Shocked. The outside looks more like an elementary school than an airport. We have a 6:20 flight and walked in at 4:20. Nobody was here. Security gates where closed but plenty of area to wander around and sit awaiting for them to open. TSA was a little slow to get through, but with few people in line and a little wait for the flight, it didn't really matter. There is some vending machines on the other side of security, a coffee area but that's it. Simple, small, clean is what you get. Almost feels more like a little private airport with the exception of TSA.

I work remote IT security and own a motorhome, and volunteered to bring her down while I worked. Thankfully I can work from anywhere. T-mobile signal is great from this location (I have T-mobile internet in my motorhome, Starlink when I need to break it out, but I didn't have to in this case). The stay was $40 a night. Met the owner, he was nice, the process was simple, the location was beautiful, had all the electrical, water, sewage, everything was great. It was the closest location to the convention center we found. We were initially going to stay at the state park, which is apparently only $25 a night, but frankly it was 13 miles away and the check in process is confusing on the state park site, so we just stayed at Over The Hill. After coordinating with a local sheriff's deputy/friend/pastor of our church, we were able to make reservations for the days needed in order to attend my mother's funeral. There is plenty of space in the cottages, including stacked-washer/dryer, kitchenette, small fridge, etc. The PX is close by for small essential items, toiletries, beer, water, etc. We were the only guests in the barracks & cottages for a couple of days, so safety was never an issue. I was given very simple directions to the cottage that I had reserved. I arrived and found everything in working order. Very nice accommodations and very comfortable. I came into town to drop off my daughter to the local university (UofA at Fort Smith) and decided to stay at Ft. Chaffee because it is fairly close to the campus. I had my daughter, wife and mother with me. The 2bedroom cottage works perfectly for us for this 2 night stay. Highly recommend to anyone passing through.
