BEST TOUR EVER!…read more First, we are not "tour" people. We like to travel on our own and rarely find a tour company that does what they say they will do. That said, we loved our tour with Teton Floats! We took the two day Yellowstone tour out of Jackson Wy. The company was fabulous to work with. Kilmeny Hall, one of the company owners and tour coordinator, handled everything from our reservations to lunch orders. She is a true professional gem and is so accommodating. She answered all of our questions, and made the whole booking process so easy. Our tour guide, John Putrino, was absolutely the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere! He is organized and efficient in everything we did for two days. He knows all there is to know about Yellowstone and surrounding areas. He has a great spotting scope which allowed us to see even those far away animals in the park. We were able to see many bison, bears, and even a wolf pack (eating a baby bison). We also saw elk, prong horns, and a moose! We were also able to see many birds, including Trumpeter Swans, Sandhill Cranes, various hawks, and ravens. John knows all the best places to look for and see animals, as well as terrific spots to have lunch. Lunch was provided both days and the sandwiches were delish (along with the chips, cookies and fruit). The tour includes waters, binoculars, and granola bars. The van is very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. We had bathroom breaks and rest stops whenever needed. The two day tour was amazing. Day one we saw all the geothermal features, including Old Faithful, and the Grand Prismatic Spring. John told us where to stand for the best views and led us around all the features with lots of interesting information. We spent the night in Pray Montana at the Chico Hot Springs Resort, which we would highly recommend. Great cabins and a nice restaurant with a more casual Saloon if you don't want a huge meal. Day two was focused on wildlife and waterfalls. We went to the Lamar Valley and other areas including Yellowstone Lake and the upper and lower Falls. We cannot say enough great things about Teton Floats two day Yellowstone Tour. John is the best and is so knowledgeable and thoughtful. A joy to spend two days with! We are definitely going to return and take this tour again! Don't miss it.

We saw over 12 eagles- spotted by Butch's eagle eyes! Docking at the end of the trip to discover their lovely slice of heaven with beautiful tipi tents to lounge in and glorious dinners with the back group of the Teton's behind the rambling river was truly magical! Simple words cannot recomend this enough! We sincerely thank you Butch and everyone in the wonderful Vintage tour team. Our guide Casey was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We saw lots of bald eagles, marmots, pelicans, cranes, beavers, and ducks. Then we went to the campsite where there was a magnificent spread of charcuterie and drinks waiting for us. Dutch cooked up an incredible dinner with local ingredients. I did a lot of research and talked to someone here who explained to me that the runoff from the mountains this early in the season raises the water level so there are only a few places you can try to fly fish during this time of year and possibly have success. This company has a license to fish in areas that not all companies have so I booked with this company and I'm so glad that I did. We stopped by the shop the day before our booking because we were in town. We took care of the fishing licenses (but you can do this online) and were ready to go. We had Tim and Will as our guides. Will texted me the night before we were scheduled and we talked about what time to meet at the shop. When we arrived both Will and Tim were there to greet us and we headed up to the river. There were not very many boats on the river. Again, it's early in the season and it's tough fishing this time of year. Tim and Will were extremely knowledgeable and great instructors. Our family is very familiar fishing but have never fished on fly before. This is completely different from spin rod fishing. It took an incredible amount of patience to instructor beginners like us but they really helped encourage us and build up our confidence. Between the three of our family members on the trip, we brought five fish to the boat! We did get several more on the line but just couldn't set the hooks fast enough. I didn't really notice any of the other boats getting any fish except for one. I'm so glad that I booked with such knowledgeable and patient guides. I am certain we would not have had success this early in the season if we had booked with a different company. I highly recommend this company and especially the amazing guides that we had. These are really great people doing what they love and sharing their knowledge with others.

When I called to check out I was told the half-day charge was $695. That's 90% of the whole day charge! Now, this isn't my first rodeo. I've been fishing in Jackson for years, but this is much more than I expected for a half-day trip. But, I sucked it up....then Bruce, the guy on the phone starts complaining that my tip is too low. Really!? Not cool or appropriate. Well, I pay and I call Scott a couple of weeks later. He makes me feel like its my fault.
