I took my wife's favorite silk blouse into West Bank dry cleaning to remove some wine stains. When I went to pick it up all of those stains were gone but there was massive staining on the front and the back of the shirt caused by the dry cleaners equipment. The shop clerk told me they would send it back to get it taken care of. With no communication, I went in to check the status multiple times. Finally I was told that it would be a claim they would have to settle as they could not repair the item. It has been many many weeks of trying to get resolution or communication up through the general manager level without response. The person working there wouldn't let me pick up my clothes even after I explained to her that I have important presentation in the morning and really needed my clothes for that . Westbank Dry Cleaners, What the hell happened. We used to be friends. I remember a few years ago when I would bring my clothes in and you would greet me at the door with a "Hi Kurt, how are you today" I had great looking clothes, you had a great customer. Somewhere along the line we grew apart. I guess it's me, not you. I mean, I knew there were cheaper dry cleaners I was attracted to (it was only a price thing) but I thought we had an understanding. You even donated 3% of the profits to my kid's school. For years I have delt with the same two people working the desk. Lately there has been a string of kids working there and it's just not the same. Last time I was in I looked at my receipt before I put it in the little red school house donation box and saw that you were charging me $8.50 per shirt for a simple little short sleeve button down mens shirt. I can't beleive this has been going on and I didn't even notice. That automatic payment thing with my credit card on file, the convenient green bag you provide that hung in my closet. I'd have to say I go to this place out of convenience. Everything is great (which deserves 5 stars), except come of the stab me in the heart prices (which deserves 2 stars). I guess that averages 3.5, but I'm feeling generous, it being Friday and all. The people that work there are always cordial, asking me if I need help out to my car when I pick up my clothes. If you bring your items in before 8AM it is done the same day. The quality of the cleaning and what I get back is superb. They always offer me a bottle of water when I drop off or pick up. The place is clean, service is quick, overall a pleasant visit...just not the bill. I get too lazy when it comes to finding deals or driving across well known congested intersections before or after work to get to a cleaner that offers lower prices. Like Kevin mentioned, I'm not exactly sure what the going rate is for every piece of clothing..but I will say it varies a lot by piece and I don't recall a price list displayed anywhere in the store. I was a bit surprised my first go around. I did take a nice cocktail dress with coffee stains on it here and it came back perfect. However, the price it cost to clean my cocktail dress, was the same price to dry clean a casual summer dress I got on clearance. That's right almost half the price I spent on the dress. Oye. I say if your in a pinch and need quality cleaning, go here...but be selective on the items you bring. Bring the good stuff, the clothes you care about, or things that need special care. As for me..I'll probably continue to go here just because I like the people/service and am too lazy to go gallivanting across Mopac/ I-35 against rabid, disgruntled drivers during rush hour to save a few bucks. I don't know what happened to WBDC. I always check my clothes and if there is one spot I don't take them there. Just this week I missed a spot and sure enough, my husbands shirt came back (laundry) with the exact same spots it left with. I even pointed it out to them before, again. Seriously, who is in charge of quality control? They press a shirt with spots all over the front and give it to the customer and charge them. Who does that? I went there for 15 years but the last 5 I have made the drive over to TIP TOP CLEANERS at Lamar and 13th. They get the clothes clean, unlike Westbank for the same price. It is worth the drive. Also, it takes 2-3 days but at least you get what you pay for. WB is 5 minutes from my home, but I will make the drive to Lamar not to be insulted by paying for clothes that are not clean. Well, it appears Linda A. and I have had two different experiences with the same cleaners. I haven't been a customer of Westbank for several years now, and here's why: Several years ago I took a nice John Nordstrom Signature line dress shirt there for a typical dry cleaning with some other clothes. There were no stains on the shirt, it just needed to be laundered and pressed. Well, when I got the shirt back, there were several small brown stains on the shirt (it was a light blue dress shirt). I wasn't able to take the shirt back immediately, but did so within a few days. I pointed out the stains to the person working the counter and explained to them that these stains were not on the shirt when I originally brought it in. The clerk said okay and agreed to have the shirt re-laundered, and to have the stains removed at Westbank's expense (only fitting). At that point I thought all would be good and I'd have nothing to worry about. Well, apparently that was not to be the case. When I again received the shirt back, the stains were still there and they had not been removed. At this point I had to explain to an entirely different clerk the situation because apparently Westbank did not keep records of such events (how foolish). After explaining what had happened and my expectations of the shirt being cleaned and stains removed at no cost to me, I could still see a very blank look on the clerk's face (I guess I shouldn't expect too much from spoiled rich high school kids at a slacker job). At this point I began to become a bit frustrated. The clerk said they would send the shirt off yet again to remove the stains Being the patient and understanding person that I am, I agreed to let them do so. Guess what happens next. I get the shirt back, and low and behold, the stains are still there. At this point I'm out of patience. The shirt has now been sent back twice, only to have the stains that were cause by Westbank to still be there. At this point I requested to speak with the manager, whom of course, was not available. The clerk took my information and said they would have the manager call me. It took the manager a day or two to call me (been so long now I can't remember specifically). I explained the situation to them and proclaimed that I expected them to replace the shirt (or reimburse me the full value of it) since their cleaning process or someone doing the cleaning process had stained the shirt and ruined it. Then the person had the nerve to argue with me that perhaps the stains were there originally and I just didn't see them. Are you kidding me? What happened to the customer is always right? It's not like I didn't give them ample opportunity to right their wrong before I requested that they pay for the shirt. At that point the manager said they'd have to call me back because they needed to speak with the owner about replacing the shirt. I ended up playing phone tag with the manager and owner for several weeks -- the owner never being available when I called. It was at that point that I became so infuriated with the entire process as it had now dragged on past a month, that I quit playing phone tag, left the manager a message explaining how incredibly awful they had treated me and told them that I still expect them to replace my shirt and that they had lost a customer forever. Of course I never heard back from anyone, still haven't to this day. And so any opportunity that arises, I relate my experience to whomever is willing to listen. I say use Westbank at your own risk. In my experience, they're totally not worth it. read more

I'm so disappointed in this company. I used them as I was under the impression they specialized in high end garment dry cleaning. The web site touts a 7 point inspection, hand finishing and unprecedented quality. Well I just spent $188 on dry cleaning and several items looked worse than before the dry cleaning! My winter wool coat came back with pilling over the entire coat and appears faded now. The buttons are barely hanging on by a thread. It looks like it came from goodwill now. A beautiful dress is now stained with dye all over the area that was once a crisp white. The actual fabric itself appears worn and thin now. I don't know what they did but it is by far the worst dry cleaning I've ever received. Apparently they don't have any semblance of quality control either. The fact that someone actually thought my dye stained dress was acceptable to return to the customer is offensive. After reaching out to the manager at the plant, I was not offered a refund or replacement, but even a sincere apology. I DO NOT recommend taking anything here that you value. You will pay more than competitors, get poor results, and poor customer service. read more

Don't you hate the smell of clothes that have been dry cleaned? Those chemicals, how the buttons on your favorite shirt disappear? I've got the the place for you - these guys are the best. The shop itself smells like clean laundry, not chemicals. Your laundry will be precisely pressed, buttons intact, with the little cleaner's tag nicely run through a buttonhole, or on the hanger...no staples through your nice clean shirts. Dry cleaning is nicely hung up, ample tissue padding for delicate sweaters and such, and skirts are pinned to the hanger, no nasty staples. I hate staples. Sign up as a "VIP" member, give 'em a credit card #, you'll get a nice laundry bag and they'll have all your laundry prefs in their computer. Zip in, drop off the bag, pick up a day later, voila. No signing accounts, or repeatedly telling someone what you want done. The best part? Ecologically responsible cleaning process, they recycle hangers, and periodically have good coupons to share. ID yourself as a first-time customer, get $5 bucks off your order. This location is catty-corner from a Starbucks and next to a Randalls, so sip, shop, clean...what more could a busy person want? I am withholding a star because I think that the prices are a bit too high. However, the service is usually spot on. I always try to drop off and pick up during the times that Lucy is working. She listens to my requests and calls me if there is an issue. I trust her with my clothes because she is respectful, friendly, fast and honest. She has returned items from my husband's suit a couple of times. If westbank management happens to read my review...I sure hope you value Lucy. This was my first trip to Westbank and I've got to say, it was great being greeted with a kind smile from your attendant, Adam. He was very helpful when I was concerned about a nice dress with appliqués I didn't want to get damaged in the process. I was happy when I picked it up a few days later, everything intact, and was greeted by Adam again. He remembered out conversation and made sure I left satisfied. The only reason that I keep coming back is because it's convenient for me and because of Michael in the Westlake Hills location. He's friendly, attentive and always personable. Like everyone else, I too am wondering "what happened?" Today I picked up my clothes and knew that the bill would be high but I was still unprepared to pay $15 to clean a simple shift dress. When I gawked at my bill, I asked why it was so expensive - what happened? I was told that dry cleaning "goes up every year." What the...? I'm sorry but there's got to be a better way. I turned in a suit and 2 white shirts, and when I went to pick up, they didn't have one of my shirts. For the next week and a half, they have led me on to believe the other shirt just got separated at the plant and they had it. I finally spoke to the manager at the plant, and it is gone, lost, not located at this point. Now they want me to put in a claim for the shirt and get a depreciated value for the shirt. Customer service was awful- I got attitude from the cashier multiple times, and she kept saying she sent an email to the manager. That's the best answer I got until I reached out to the manager and she said they can't locate it. Then they suggested I wait A MONTH to put the claim in because shirts usually just reappear. Never going here again- the entire office I work at across the street will never be spending money here either. Hands down the worst dry cleaning experience of my life. read more

I had 6 items dry cleaned. $75!!!! I brought me items in on monday morning and was not told prices etc. I had planned on spending about 1/3 of what they charged me. I cannot believe how expensive they are. The exact same clothes at Reid's or Rick's cost me about $25. Again, VERY suprised at how expensive they were. I usually don't mind paying a little more for a good product, but damn! I haven't even taken them out of the drycleaning bag, but I cannot expect it to be worth it unless the put $100 bills in the pockets. STAY AWAY unless you like to get robbed!!!!! read more

Over priced and lazy. Dropped of two items. Here's what happened. Item 1 required special care. I asked them to consult their expert and call me with a plan prior to cleaning it. I received no phone call. They went ahead and the item was not cleaned bit insisted they would not release my item unless I paid them. Totally not what we agreed upon at the beginning of the process. Item 2 they lost and no one called me to report the status. Had to call several times. Good news was they found it over a week later. Bad news, this first experience with this cleaner will be my last and as someone new to this market I want to ensure other consumers rethink using this company. There is a newer lady there I just do not care for, First westbank is more of an upscale environment, which I pay GOOD money for so I expect BETTER quality. tattoos on neck - if I wanted that I would go to another "neck of the woods" Second, I was young once, but way too many times she has had "glassy eyes" - most certainly NOT appropriate in the work place environment. yes, you CAN smell it on her. Cleaning is outrageously expensive. But for the convenience factor and the fact that I dont dry clean too much - I stuck with the place. Not anymore. They 'melted' off several of the buttons from my 2 daughters matching sweaters - and told me straight up "these were missing when you brought them in." I said - no - these sweater were bought for Easter and only worn once - why would they be randomly missing from BOTH sweaters??" Ok you are right she says - we'll find replacement buttons to match. Well the buttons they came up with were heinous and unacceptable and did not even fit the size loop fastener. I know they are only buttons but I paid alot for these matching sweaters with matching dresses and I want it right! They came up with a slightly better alternative but its still awful. Second complaint -2 of the shirts I paid for to have drycleaned - came back still smelling bad. She said - "well you are going to have to wash it yourself." I said - they say dry clean only - cant you get them clean? "she said thats all we can do - If the shirt comes back with a smell theres nothing else we can do. I love Westbank Cleaners! I have used them for over 10 years and have NEVER had a lost item or a problem with over 500 items that I have brought in. If a stain does not come out they always send it through again and get it out without damaging the item. They have told me in advance if they can do it without damaging the item which I appreciate.That is a pretty good record. They are always friendly and professional. Dropped off 6 items to give them a try for dry cleaning (2 men dress shirts, 1 short dress, 1 woman's shirt and 2 men's pants). The bill was $80. I was not informed about prices when I dropped off the items but the worst part was the job they did was extremely low quality. I have paid high prices in the past but have been given a high quality job (e.g., Four Seasons Residence Dry Cleaning). The shirt collars were wrinkled as well as the shirts and dresses. I also found stains on items that did not have stains prior to drop off. They offered to press the items again but I do not want my clothes ruined even more. I am not in the habit of writing Yelp reviews but really felt compelled in this case. Go somewhere else!! High price and low quality make for a bad business and experience. read more

I really can't say enough good things about Westbank Dry Cleaning. My wedding dress got gross dark beer spilled on it at our reception. The stain was NOT a small one. I waited too long to clean it simply because I wasn't sure where to take it. Westbank probably doesn't clean wedding dresses super often, but THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB. I was SO nervous that the stain wouldn't come out, that the fabric would get ruined. They cleaned my dress 3 different ways just to ensure that the stains were out and that the dress was returned to me as good as new. They kept me informed and got my approval before they tried each method. Lucy, in particular, was spectacular! I, in my anxious-ridden state, called several times to see how the dress was. She was always patient, kind, and reassuring. Adam also was friendly and greeted me right away when I came in. My dress looks perfect. And to top it off, I was accidentally quoted a super low price to clean the dress. Westbank went above and beyond to get my dress clean (that stain did NOT come out on attempt #1). I absolutely should've paid more for all the trouble they went to. BUT, I was told that since the price had been quoted lower, that that's what I would pay. So gracious and generous! It's such a rarity to work with businesses who care about the individual as well as the product. I'd recommend this cleaner to anyone and I'll take all my cleaning there in the future. If it's an item you care about, don't take it anywhere else. And ask for Lucy, because she's awesome. read more
