Brought my RAV4 LE in for servicing for 40K check and was told not only did it need all new front brakes but they also said that the transmission pan was leaking and needed gaskets replaced. I brought it in for a second opinion with someone very familiar to me and this was NOT the case. Although the front brakes will need to be repaired at some point they are not at the level of needing rotors and a brake flush. And transmission fluid was absolutely NOT leaking from the pan. Really bad Toyota!! Will not be retunring. You wanted $2k from me. read more

My experience buying a Sienna platinum from Westbrook Toyota was a breeze. Best car buying experience ever. Joyce is the gold standard for a car salesperson. She was knowledgeable, efficient, honest and kind. We have been dealing with several dealers these past few weeks who were deceptive or greedy still implementing the COVID dealer markups...not at Westbrook. Jose and Christopher were also great to deal with as well. No sitting around waiting endlessly...no I have to talk to my manager...the process was always moving. I wanted a car, they had it and together we made it happen. I drove 2 hours to their dealership and it was WORTH EVERY MILE!! It was a totally pleasant and professional experience. Stacey was our Sales Consultant. Even though our 1st appointment was on a beautiful Saturday summer afternoon with Stacy - - we were late (I-95 . . . enough said), but she was great. She went over the cars available - - we were looking for a certified used car, probably a RAV4 since my wife had owned one for the past 10 years or so. COVID and the supply chain issues have not been easy on the dealerships, but the cars they had were of quality. After going to check the stock again, she came out and asked if my wife would be interested in a Ruby RAV4 just off of lease - - "Red." Stacey said. Oh brother, I thought because my wife is tired of white or green cars; we had even had a discussion a few days back that we'd like to have a redish-maroon car. As soon as I saw it, I said to myself - - SOLD!!! My wife drove it. When she got back from the test drive, my wife was forever "Poker Faced". In fact, Stacey kept asking her what her thoughts were. Finally, I told Stacey that we'd be back on Monday morning. We took the information she gave and left - - but I knew that my wife wanted that car. When we got home, we did some research. The Ruby RAV4 was leased and serviced from Lorensen Toyota. Great for us because my wife had bought two cars previously from them and our daughter had bought one years ago; moreover, my wife always brought her cars there to service and has always been pleased . . . so being a Lorensen Lease/Service car was a major plus. Sunday morning, we decided to swing out to Lorensen's Toyota (when they were closed and no one was around) to walk the lot to and compare cars - - but really . . . I wanted to let her look at the Ruby RAV4 one more time. Despite listing options 1, 2, 3 . . . deep inside I knew she wanted the one she test driven. Monday came and as we drove toward the dealership, my wife asked - - is it still there. Yep. Does it have a sold sign on it? Nope. We made the deal. Thanks Stacey!!! We did our financing through the dealership. Tony was the best ever - - the BEST EVER!!! I can recommend both Stacey and Tony 100%. Let me tell you the best part of dealing with both Tony and Stacey. We talked and learned about each other - - where we were from, food, and life in general. It wasn't just a deal between seller and buyer. It was so personal and caring. Like the "good old days". I purchased my car back in March from Dennis. While my experience with Dennis was good, the experience i had with the remaining staff and aftercare was extremely disappointing. I came in to purchase my car after work, and the process to do paperwork was extremely rushed. Not how i typically like to do my financing paperwork. It wasn't until the very end of paperwork did they sit there and tell me what my car payment and interest rate was. At that point, most of the paperwork had already been signed so i was stuck. They assured me from the beginning it wasn't going to be much over what i had previously been paying. Man was i wrong. I had brought my car to get inspected and ended up having to pay $100 to get my tires balanced within the first 10 days of purchasing. This is a service that should have been checked prior to selling the car, since they claim to do a "safety Inspection" before selling. Abut a month later, I made an appointment for my free oil change and i was still having an issue with shaking tires, so i made an appointment and brought my car in to the service department. Not sure how i would have reached 5,000 miles within a month, but they must not have done an oil change right before i purchased... gotta put two and too together.They did the routine oil change and i had asked for my computer to my Prius to be checked, and i told them i had a noise coming from my fan motor, so it was very loud. I also told them there was shaking in my seat while driving at high speeds. They told me they would look at everything. I sat in the waiting room for almost 2 hours with my 3 year old and the service lady came out and was like well your car is out of warranty, so ... and i cut her off to say i just bought my car 2 months ago and you have a 6 month, 6,000 mile warranty, so no I'm not out of warranty. She rudely stated that she wanted to finish. Said they checked the fan and took a leaf out of the motor, and did the oil change and had the computer checked. Then she said there as nothing wrong with the tires. I ended up going for a ride with Dennis and he stated he did feel the shaking. I had to wait another hour for them to rebalance tires, supposedly to road force. So now we are at 3 hours waiting. I ended up leaving the dealership, and the very next morning i had the same shaking problem with my tires. This time instead of at higher speeds, it was happening when going 30, 35, 45, etc. Holding on the interstate at a constant 60 mph my water bottle in the center console was shaking, my seat was shaking etc. Much worse of a problem than before. I ended up calling the dealership and speaking to Mike where he made me an appointment for a Saturday at 9:30am to come in and get a loner car so they could have my car and take a look at it. Saturday came around and i drove 40 miles to Westbrook to bring my car in, and they told me once again that my car was out of warranty. I again said no it is not, so we need to clarify the miscommunication. I went and talked to the sales manager and was told that i had to bring my car in during the week, which wasn't possible since i work 730 am to 530 pm and then pick my daughter up from daycare, service is closed by that time. i explained to the sales manager that i was told i could come in to get a loner so they could look at the tire issue. I was then told they don't have enough techs to do the work, for my scheduled 9:30 appointment. Then was told that i needed to go back 4 days later and they could look at the car then... so eat up 80 miles driving there for an appointment and then have to go back home, just to turn around 4 days later and put another 80 miles on my car. The simple fact that my car is still NOT out of warranty, since it has been only 3 months, and i still have not reached the 6,000 mile warranty expiration from purchase date, and the dealership refuses to take a look at the issue. I have NEVER in my life had such shitty experience of buying a car. Now comes to the real issue, that i have to now purchase $900 dollar brand new tires, get an alignment (which should have been done prior to sale) and hope this fixes the tire issue that the dealership fails to acknowledge. Recommended for anyone to NOT purchase from them, or go get service done by them. For your car to go in and have it come out worse, is not something I would want on my vehicle. Lets hope this doesn't have to get to a court issue for not abiding by a written warranty. read more

It was a strange visit. Had appointment today, during appointment in showroom while we were seated they started a car, backed it up within 3 ft of my expecting daughter and 3 year old granddaughter ( we were seated at a table closest to car) fumes in our faces, drove it outside, backed up a second car, same thing, very near us, fumes in our faces near us, then a third car backed it up, we were still talking at table with salesperson we had appointment with Fumes everywhere, really close to us, within 2 foot proximity! No one told use they were going to do this, no one alerted us to make a decision to relocate to another table to discuss purchase. So I mentioned this fact that we had a toddler and expecting mother with no consideration and this guy starts telling me someone wanted to test drive it and we were warned. We were absolutely 100% not told a thing. When I mentioned this to the car moving workers, a girl worker holding the door started laughing and looking at the others. Such utter disregard and disrespectful treatment. I'm above 60. I accompanied daughter so they could make a purchase. I would not ever suggest anyone go to this dealership. They truly need to have customer care training concerning every part of being a salesperson also concerning respect for safety, such a rude experience today. The sales department is just terrible. The quote I received for the new car was the MSRP + the 500 dealer fee. Literally it was the same price from the window sticker + 500. Westbrook Toyota is most definitely the most expensive Toyota dealership in the north east. I promise you, you can go anywhere else in New England and get a better price. read more

I have bought 2 cars from Westbrook Toyota dating back to 2007. My most recent experience buying a Toyota Rav4 has been very disappointing in that the dealership went into great lengths to 'sell' us the car. We are very happy with its performance but there is one main issue that we have found to be completely unacceptable. We received our car at the end of December last year. At the time we were given only one fob key because of the microchip shortages and promised that a second one would arrive within a couple of months. 9 months later nothing has happened. Over the last 3 months I have tried several times to reach the dealership and figure the issue out. Our selling agent basically just referred us to the company (Toyota) and washed his hands. Toyota's website has no option to contact them for any such problem. After several further inquires with the dealership, we were told that we would receive a letter in the mail. That did also never materialize. A service rep that can only be reached via voice mail left us with a response that had nothing to do with our request. It has been very disappointing to experience this either fully incompetent response, or very purposeful avoidance on the dealership's part to assume and follow through with their responsibilities read more

Terrible service. I bought my new car here less than a year ago. I called about a warranty repair and was told to bring the car in. I was assured the repair would be covered under warranty. I was also assured that I would be contacted before the appointment if the part was not available. I drove a substantial distance and rescheduled my entire day in order to bring my car in for the appointment. When I went to check in I was told not only that it would not be covered but that they didn't even have the part on hand. What kind of attention to the customer is this! Although I did not ultimately buy a car from this dealership, I want to commend them for their high level of courtesy and professionalism. I car-shopped pretty extensively this time around and encoutered a wide range of salespeople and approaches (including one fellow who popped bubblegum during the salespitch, but that's another story...); service here was definitely the best. I dealt with two people on staff at Lorensen, Mark & Della, and I found them refreshingly polite, articulate, and helpful. I had the strong sense they were selling me a product they believed in, not trying to take me for all they could get. The test drive (I took two) was well orchestrated, they showed the engine, then drove me as a passenger for a bit, while pointing out various features, then we oulled over and I took the wheel. We were on vacation when we hit a huge tire tread on the highway in our new Camry. The running light popped out and the splash pan was hanging down. We went into the dealership and were immediately attended to. They secured the splash pan with new clips and got us right back on the road. No appointment, no hassle and a very modest service charge. I test drove a RAV4. The sales woman was clearly very new, but I liked her and since she also let me test drive a CRV at the Honda dealership across the street (the 2 cars I was investigating) and she seemed nice and helpful, I was inclined to give them my business. But not at any price. My son-in-law and I researched prices in this area and decided on a firm "all-in, out-the-door" price (including trading in a 14 year old (ie worthless) car). I ensured over the phone that I would be paying that price (which another Toyota dealership promised, sight unseen). When I got there, sure enough (as my son-in-law warned), they found a way to jack up the price $700 over what they promised (the sales woman had promised Westbrook would "meet any price"). I could not believe it!!! I walked. Now Westbrook has lost not only my business but my son-in-law's (and he buys cars a lot more frequently than I do, he was also taking his Highlander to Westbrook for service). No more. They may appear large, professional, in a tony neighborhood, but they perform the same sleazy tactics to get another $500-1000 over what they "promised" once you are in the door. $700 is $700 I walked and have no intention of ever going back for anything. read more

While in a difficult situation with my car, Rob helped me immensely by providing a loaner, advocating on my behalf to obtain a warranty enhancement for the needed repair, and overall providing the best customer service I have ever received in my life, hands down. He always returned my phone calls, took the time to listen to and answer my questions and concerns, and provided me with all the information I needed to attempt to get my claim through for repair. Very disappointed with this dealership. I was trying to purchase a vehicle from them and they offered zero flexibility on the deal. They want over MSRP. They know they have the upper hand because there's a vehicle shortage. Knowing this, they changed the equity structure in my trade-in 4 days after we agreed on the amount (which was already lower that what another dealership offered me). It's a shame... This is the place for you! Then you'll get a laundry list of "recommendations " for maintenance that run about $200 each. The average is about $600 from what I've seen, but go ahead. Shopped on-line and found the vehicle I was interested in. Emailed made an appointment, they confirmed the vehicle was "in-stock" so there would not be a waste in time with over an hours drive. In fact to assure my appointment the sales manager Edgar have the vehicle pulled "off line" for me. Arrived at the stated appointment, the vehicle (Tacoma) was parked out front, washed and ready to go. Met w/ Joyce, saleswoman and I was good to go. Upon returning and ready to buy the process was fairly quick (there is an abundance of paperwork), John, in finance was a pleasure to work with. Had an excellent experience purchasing a certified Tundra here. Very friendly low key experience. Everything thing went smooth and as promised. I hate car buying but it was painless here. I felt with Jose and Joyce. I have not used the service department as of yet so I can't speak to that as of Today I brought my vehicle in for its first service. I also had 2 issues to get checked out and I'm very disappointed. Even though the windshield sticker said service was due it was just for tire rotation that didn't get done. I bought 2 additional keys that were over priced compared to what other dealers quoted me and I was charged for the update to the radio even though I bought the vehicle . It's certified and I have a platinum service plan from Toyota. I was reimbursed for the charge. I would still shop here but I'm not recommending going there for service. I'll try it again in 5000 miles and make my final decision read more

DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOOSE A LOT OF MONEY. THEY WILL TRY AND RIP YOU OFF. You will get a massive bill for things that are not required when you take your car to these people. We took our car to them and were quoted a ridiculous amount for all kinds of repairs that were not required. We wanted a second opinion, so then we took our car to someone we trust, who we used before we moved. It turns out Toyota of Westbrook lied to us about the work that was required on our vehicle. We would have spent thousands if we had not been mistrustful of them. They will rip you off and tell you that your car needs all kinds of work. They can not be trusted. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service is the worst. We purchased defective wheels from them before we realized that they are con artists. They basically told us to take a flying leap when we tried to get a replacement tyre. Don't trust them. read more

Potential certified used buyers beware. I purchased a Highlander certified used from these guys in May 2016. I was thorough in my examination of the vehicle but since then I have found that there was damage to the rear bumper, and the vehicle had been smoked in previously. None of these items were disclosed at the time of purchase. Additionally, I had asked if the battery had been replaced and they said it was. Well, the recent cold weather proved otherwise. When I called and asked them to make good on it they pretty much told me to pound sand. Typical used car salesman tactics at this place.
