We've been back to a few other adult craft & game nights since, and really enjoy what the local library has to offer. Different activities are hosted monthly by the library and they are really fun! Christina is so creative with the monthly crafts, and such a lovely person to be around. Everyone gets a good laugh and gets to unwind. A few other librarians, like Gabe and Cat, go above and beyond to answer any questions you may have. Sorry I can't remember the rest of the librarians, but you are all so great! Love visiting my local library! Also, can't wait for the remodel of the library to be done next year.

I have visited a couple times and staff has been exceptionally helpful in getting me up and running. The negative reviews here seem to come from Grumpy Old People who don't check facility hours before coming or expect them to provide income tax service.

If you want to inter library something, staff will help and make sure you get it. They also have dollar forgiveness Sunday's which will allow you to pay only $1 if you have a ton of late fees.....but of course, I would never have to utilize this deal! Hint, hint, wink, wink. The children's programs are great here, and I have proof as all three of my children have attended Book Babies, Terrific 2's and 3's, and Fabulous 4's and 5's, and all 3 turned out fairly well....for the most part. They also have other community offerings such as kids craft sessions and Mini Musicians with Ms. Clara, which is also an excellent asset to the Brookfield community in itself. This library recently had the Taste of Brookfield, which was absolutely great! It was a ton of fun with various local vendors such as Burger Antics, Irish Times, Brookfield Ale House, and other establishments providing both food, beer, and wine tastings at one price per person. All of the vendors were very liberal with the food and booze, that I can remember since the beer was definitely flowing. Ha, ha! The proceeds went to the Friends of the Library, very beneficial for them. This is my local library and I continue to utilize their great programs. Definitely a wonderful asset to the Brookfield Community.

Compared to the other libraries that we frequent, this is one is a bit smaller. However, we really…read morelike the location and historical exterior architectural design. There is also a fun choo-choo train in the children's section that is easily Instagrammable however space is a bit tight and it could be a bit tricky to try to capture the whole thing in a shot. Our family of four spent 1.5 hours there coloring and reading. We noticed a few toys sets that consisted of cars, trucks, Lego, and magnetic tiles. But most of them were preoccupied so we did not get a chance to explore much. The location is incredibly close to a few eateries that we enjoy so we would definitely make a return trip when we are in the area.

Worst Library I have ever been to in my life. Not a place of learning and study…read more I was using one of the library's computer monitor to use a a second monitor to study. A Mr. Ejez Khan walked up to me shaking his head like a disapproving father stated You cant do that! I ask him Excuse me sir but who are you? He said i am part of the library staff and I then informed him that i was given permission by library staff that I could use the monitor. He asked me who gave me permission and I said I dont need to give you that information. He then brings the library director Sue Madorin who asked me the same question and I pointed to the gentlemen sitting behind the desk near the computer lab. She then pushed me back off to Mr. Khan who was then introduced as the IT supervisor. He said I couldn't use the monitor for that purpose so I got up and left. The director approached me again and says I dont want you to feel uncomfortable I explained to her that Mr. Khans approach was unprofessional and uncalled for and proceeded out of the library. The head of the oak brook village calls me and basically stated that no one gave me permission to use the monitor. I asked him about the way that Mr. Khan approached me and he stated that thats not what his staff told him. Its funny that he would say this because to my knowledge the only person that could hear the initial exchange between Mr. Khan and I was the gentleman who gave me permission in the first place. May I add that in the library is a cell phone free zone Mr. Khan was on his cell phone talking while in the library How did I know because he was 10 feet from me. Its good to see "staff" of the library not following rules that are posted everywhere in the library.

How can there be no reviews for this quaint, local library? It wasn't exactly love at first site;…read morehowever, now I absolutely love the Hillside library. First and foremost, I have to mention the outstanding service that is provided by the staff. The welcoming smiles and genuine interest in helping customers is what prompted me to write this review. Most of the staff know my name and greet me during each visit. If I have any "hold" items that come in, I don't even need to ask for them. The staff members at the front desk will have it ready for me when I check out. The Hillside library may not be the biggest library, but they have items that many other larger libraries don't have. They continuously update their inventory with newly released books, movies, music CDs, Wii games, and even XBox games! They also keep the community informed by publishing many of these updates in their newsletter. In addition to the current selections they offer, Hillside library also has a nice computer lab, various workshops and clubs, and wireless printing options. I love this wireless printing option. I have used it several times when (in a crunch) my printer wasn't cooperating with me. And at 10 cents a print...it is probably much more affordable than what I pay for those expensive ink cartridges. It is a nice cozy place to read, use the computer and utilize fantastic resources that your tax dollars go toward. Make the most of it.

Things that are especially good about the Bellwood Public Library are: the architecture; the…read morewindows let in a lot of light and the landscaping is really lovely. There are plenty of quiet, relaxing places to sit and read or work on projects. They have a great series of programs on beading your own jewelry; several staff members work on presenting the programs. They also have a great collection of African-American fiction, and they have a collection of Spanish-language books. The Children's Room is especially pretty. The Bellwood Public Library has wi-fi; the wi-fi is best on the first floor, in front of the reference desk so a little laptop group gathers there. Public computers (8) are in the Lower Level, as are the conference rooms, the magazines and newspapers, and the mysteries. There 's a computer lab assistant on hand to help you at the public computers if you need help. The staff are very nice: they give recommendations and work hard on putting books on reserve for you so you can check them out when they're returned and on getting books in from other libraries.
