Garry came to my house today to fix the overflowing hose of the washing machine. As he was unclogging with the draining snake, he felt some piled up debris and the draining snake wouldn't go into the pipe anymore. After reconnecting the hose to the drain pipe, water doesn't overflow anymore and the leaky hose is fixed for now. But I was advised to replace the pipe in the future. I had a drain pipe break under my house and it was dumping water into my crawl space. Every plumber I called won't even go down there until a water damage restoration company dries out the area. They always had "their guy" who came out and wanted thousands of dollars to dry it out, which takes 4 days, before the plumber would repair the pipe. That means 4-5 days of not using the kitchen sink and the loss of usage to 1 bathroom. Luckily, I found Westco. Garry does both plumbing AND water damage restoration. Rental Property In Altadena CA. Tenants called on Thursday July 3rd 2014 at 8;00 pm frantic that the toilet would not flush, sewage had backed up into the shower / tub, and none of the drains were draining. I had attempted to do the Job with my brother in law to save a little cash on our lovely Nations Birthday, July 4th. I have had my share of plumbers in the few years I have had my house. Plumbing with a septic system in a house build in the 50's has not been fun. I've had larger corporations come out and totally screw up, I've had the home depot special guys come out and attempt to correct issues only to leave us worse off than we were, and I have had friends of friends royally screw up our plumbing to the point of not being able to shower or flush a toilet. Gary, from Westco, is such a pleasant person with whom to deal. He charges reasonably for his time/labor and really does good quality and honest work. He is also so reliable. Whenever we have needed him, he usually accommodates our schedule day night, weekday as well as weekends. In fact, he is here on a Sunday evening, working on connecting and installing the plumbing to a new vanity in our bathroom which we had to replace, as we speak. With relatives visiting at the same time, we had been without a sink for about a week now and had to share the other one among 4 people. It was nice not to have wait for another day during the work week. He is willing to explain how the work is to be done and is so patient in answering our questions. We had a kitchen sink clog that couldn't be repaired with our little knowledge and small snake. So we Yelped Westco and boy, we couldn't be happier!!! Not only did they work around our schedule and came at a time when was convenient for us, but they also came later in the day when most plumbers are going home. Gary showed up on time (he gave us a window prior) and had to wait for me to get home, but he politely did. His knowledge of the problem and replacement of a pipe were astounding....he knew exactly what to do, how to do it and got the job done in about 1.5 hours.
