First visit to this food truck/trailer. I have seen it at the Lowe's store on Overland and Meridian Rds before, but never stopped. I ordered the 1/4lb beef corndog. It was over $8 with tax. It was about 8" long with a nice cornmeal coating and fried to a medium brown. The outside was very crispy and the inside velvety. The dog wasn't overly salted. I'm not a corndog aficionado, but it was pretty good. Not sure if I will buy one again at that price point. It was certainly filling, though. read more

I ain't too proud to admit to loving hot dogs and corndogs. I don't do fairs and such to have too much opportunity to have a corndog other than the usual at Sonic. But I've seen this food truck on my way to work in the mornings - always closed at 6:30am, obvi and I have mental rolodexed this as a place I want to get to sometime. I was cruising around one weekday afternoon and sometime was now. WORTH. THE. WAIT. Oh my land was this a good corndog! The dog itself is all beef, salty and meaty, (is it a Costco hot dog?), good quality and delicious, but that fried batter was money. The flavor, the oil, the bits of gritty corn meal, and a ton of it, was amaaaazing. That thick bready layer was everything I didn't know I was missing in my life. As someone else stated in their review, they use Kirkland signature hotdogs which are really good quality. What could make a Costco hot dog better, you may ask? I've seen their trailer around and have been wondering just how good is the World's Greatest Corn Dog. So today I was at Lowe's, the trailer was at Lowe's, I felt my blood sugar dropping and I love a good corn dog. So it seemed like the perfect time to give them a try. Now I suspect that there is no world governing body that determines just which corn dog in the world really is the World's Greatest Corn Dog, and I am always a skeptic of any claims. But with that said, I have to say I wasn't disappointed. First off, I was pleasantly surprised I had to wait while they made my corn dog. No this wasn't a preprepared corn dog that had been sitting in a freezer for God only knows how long and the fact that it had a foot-long beef hotdog at its core was another pleasant surprise, especially since I was very hungrey. We ordered 2 cheese, a sausage, and a corn dog. Excellent corn dogs. The batter was flavorful without being too greasy. WBC are available to rent for events. They claim they can feed 500 people in less than an hour. On 7/23/21, I tried World's Best Corndogs For the first time. I visited the Boise truck, located near the corner of Glenwood and Chinden Boulevard. World's Best Corndogs are made with Kirkland brand 100% Beef hotdogs, hand-dipped in a freshly made World's Best Original batter. They come with packets of mustard, ketchup and/or "honey drizzle." The World's Best Corndog is a foot-long corndog ($6). I was happy to see they offer a half size version ($4), which is what I ordered. I tried it with a light "honey drizzle." Wowza! These corn dogs live up to their name! I liked that the hotdog was very hot inside. That's how you know these are fresh, not frozen. The corn batter was thoroughly cooked, yet remained light and fluffy. I enjoyed trying the honey drizzle, which went well with mustard, but next time I'll order it without as there is already a hint of the sweet in the corn batter. I am more drawn to savory than sweet, but most would love the honey drizzle. I recommend ordering it that way for your first time. I can't wait to return to try the Cheddar Brat Corndog and the Pepper Jack and Colby Jack cheese sticks, which are dipped in batter before being deep-fried. Highly Recommended!!! read more

So delicious and bad for you , but ever so worth it. My husband got their traditional corn dog which was HUGE! Hot and the corn breading was on point!!! Sweet but not too sweet, and you can actually taste the corn. I ordered the veggie dog, which is what you can expect from a veggie hot dog. Blah and not worth it. But for all the vegetarians out there, their cheese dog was to DIE for! I had to fight off my husband so I didn't have to share more than one bite! He loved it too! Last Thursday our family of four was driving through Boise on our way to Garden Valley and saw the yellow food truck parked food with the name (World's Best Corndogs) printed on the side. We said to ourselves "that is a really bold statement and claim of them to make". Maybe Boise's best or Idaho's best.....but world's best, really???? That certainly couldn't be the case we thought, but we had to check for ourselves. We braked hard, pulled across three lanes of traffic and made our way to the food truck to order. We ordered 4 corn dogs for the family and asked for our customary mustard. The attendant offered us honey but we turned it down, thinking that can't be all that good on a corndog. We took one bite of our corn dog and immediately said..."holy cow, that really is the world's best corn dog." We devoured the rest of our foot long dog and kept telling each other how awesome it was. Perfectly cooked, perfect outter crust and perfect inner cake. Then we chuckled because the more we thought about it, we came to the conclusion that the only thing that could have made our corndog better was the honey that we were offered and passed up back at the truck. Shame on us. Thanks for the great food and for living up to your name....hands down, you have made the World's Best Corndog. Well done guys!!! While I was out and about with one of my best friends we had stopped by this small food trailer called WORLD'S BEST CORN DOG. Omg this company did not disappoint!!! I walked up to the trailer and was quite surprised that I had no questions. Typically I have a couple questions after reading the menu but this place was super simple with their menu, which is how it's supposed to be. When I got up to the window I was greeted with enthusiasm and manners. Let's just say I was so impressed . I ordered the footlong corn dog for $7.00 and due to bad past experiences I had my doubts. They handed me a cute little buzzer for my turn and told me to sit in my car so I wouldn't freeze,which is always nice. When my buzzer went off approx 5 min later a rush of hope came over me due to the smell of corn dogs when i walked up. They once again greeted me and handed me my corn dog and omg!!! This thing was cooked to perfection!!! they had friend it to the perfect gold and served it with honey, ketchup, and mustard with some napkins. Between me and you, those napkins were a waste because there was nothing to use them for not one piece missed my mouth!! Biting into this dog it was crunchy and soft at the same time with the dog being so juicy and plump. After enjoying the first bite i put honey on it and ooofff I have never had honey on a dog before but i will from now on. I finished that dog as slow but as fast as I could. My wife has been telling me about this food truck for a while. They tout themselves as the world's best corn dog. Personally, I hate it when places say they have the best food on the planet. It's an impossible thing to prove. Any restaurant can say anything like this and get away it. The truth is that outside of the Boise area, probably no one has even heard of this food truck. So while I know it's just a marketing thing to say they have the world's best corn dogs, it bugs me to no end. It almost makes me not want to get one, but in the end, which is course is why these places say it, I can't not try one. I have to know if they are indeed the world's best corn dog. My wife and I found the food truck on Fairview and ordered the World's Best. They also have what they call a half hot dog. I asked the guy at the counter about this. He said its just a smaller version of the same corn dog. They make them to order, which for me, goes a long way. I have been to a lot of food trucks in my life. Most seem to cook their food ahead of time, so the food is not fresh and often not hot. When our corn dog came out, it was hot and juicy. It's a foot long, which is nice. It filled me up. First, I tried the corn dog with the standard mustard. It is way better than any store-bought corn dog. The outside was crispy and the inside is juicy. The only real downside is that it is a bit greasy. Each time I picked it up to take a bite, I had to wife the grease from my fingers. I know what you are thinking. Its fried food, so its going to be greasy. Right? Wrong. Fried food, if done right, does not have to be greasy. The key to this is having your grease at the right temp and use the right kind of oil. The batter they use is a nice corn meal, which was great, but by itself, it had little flavor. Most everyone uses a condiment on their corn dogs, so this probably explains why most places dont bother to flavor their batter. For me I wish there was. When I was in Texas, there was a place that put some jalapenos in their Corn Dog batter. Not enough to make them spicy, but just the right amount to give them that extra bit of flavor. They were so good that I did not even use mustard, which for me, is the true test of a food like this. "Is that food so good that I don't need a condiment to make it taste good? If the answer is yes, then I know they are on to something. If the answer is no that I have to drown the food in ketchup, mustard, or whatever your favorite condiment is, then the food was not that good. Good food should stand alone and not require a sauce, or condiment in order to make it tasty. This goes for Corn Dogs, Fries, Burgers, Chicken Fried Steak, Steak, or most anything else. Another idea would be to take their honey and put some of that right into the batter. Then they could offer some flavored batter options on their menu. My favorite condiment to use is mustard, but mustard drowns out the flavor of the corn dog. This truck also provides honey, which is a very interesting option. I tried it and it was good. The honey adds a very nice sweetness and earthy flavor to corn dog. I would go back here, which is the best way to gauge if you have liked something. Ask yourself; "Would you go back to that place and have that same food again." If the answer is no, then that meant that you did not like the food. In my case, the answer is yes, I would try the Corn Dog again, but I hope the truck owners read this review and add some flavor into the batter. I think this might just come close to making their statement a little more like truth. read more

Stopped by to check it out! (Always time for a great corn dog) The food cart is parked right on the corner of Chinden and Glenwood next to Starbucks. Ordered the world's best for 7 bucks. I thought it was a little pricey but was surprised to see that the dog was dipped in the batter fresh for my order. A few minutes later,my corn dog was ready. It was tasty with just the right amount of crisp and doughiness for the outside. My only suggestion would be to offer a better condiment selection and delivery system instead of only cheap ketchup and mustard packets. They hurt the experience here. read more

We are here from out of state visiting our daughter, and I found myself randomly dreaming about a hand-dipped corn dog this morning. The kind you can only find at the county fairs, which I haven't been to in years!!!!! I about flipped when I saw the sign stating World's Best Corndog, and my husband dutifully and wisely pulled in. I have never had to wait so long for a corn dog order before, but the fact that you DO wait is an indication that good things are coming! We were third in line, and then the throngs of additional customers surrounded us from every side (but no worries, we were wearing our masks! The only ones, I may add!). Finally my name was called, and I was asked what condiments I needed. There was honey as an option, which I had never heard of, but who could want for anything more than your standard yellow mustard?! And they provide it in containers that are suitable for dipping that dog clear down in it. Perfect! And then I gazed at that foot long piece of wonder enveloped in a perfectly crisp, golden-browned blanket of goodness. Of course I couldn't wait until it cooled to jump in, and wow was I surprised. The dog was huge in diameter and tasted like a high-quality beef frank cooked to perfection, and the tender batter had the ideal ratio of cornmeal-to-flour with a slight hit of sweetness that contrasted well with the salty dog. I didn't even like corn dogs until I tried these, but I CRAVE these ones! They are crispy on the outside, cooked fresh to order and have 100% beef dogs in the middle, none of that nasty mystery meat.
