The lack of compassion and professionalism extended across the entire staff -- including the doctors and the manager. It was clear that respectful communication and basic customer service skills were missing. I strongly urge Western Dental to implement comprehensive customer service training for all employees, from front desk staff to medical professionals and management. Elderly patients deserve to be treated with dignity and care, and that standard was not met. And get this, the manager stated, "If you want to go home, then go home!" She could not treat me but referred me to a colleague at another office. The staff was patient and kind explaining my options. Aide, the business manager, helped move along the paperwork process. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! When I arrived with my 2 daughters, the front office didn't greet us, we turned in our new patient forms. Just ignored us and took the forms from me. Guy just asked us to wait, so we sat for 45 mins until they called us in for x rays. Once inside, they had us wait another hour. I asked the assistant, 2-3 times if we were going to be helped and she didn't know when the dentist would become available. They weren't even busy. They all just kept walking around not doing anything. I went to the front to ask again, if I was going to be helped. The girl didn't know what to say, I ended up leaving. Waste of time! Made an appointment and gave them my PPO insurance, they verified it on Monday and said that I was set for my appointment on Saturday. Come Saturday I show up and Chris and his manager said they were unable to see me because the insurance is closed and they can't verify it. I explained that my insurance had already been verified, but they confirmed there was no documentation of that. Chris apologised for not verifying the insurance on Friday because Friday was his day off, this annoyed me even more because I booked the appointment on Monday, they had all week to verify it. Save your time and money and DO NOT COME HERE!! I am serious, this place is the absolute worst! I have been coming here for a while, and honestly it was fine before, I'm not sure if something recently changed or what. But now that I have my own full time job and not under my parents insurance anymore, I thought let's go to the dentist and this is the one we used to go to. I came in and said "hey would want to schedule a regular cleaning, nothing else, and can they do everything the same day of the appointment"? Yeah sure they said, and I scheduled for a 9am on Saturday. Well I came at 9am, and guess what, it was packed, and then I checked in and asked for how long it will take, and they said it will take about an hour and a half to two hours until they can see me. So what was the point of the appointment if I have to wait two hours in the lobby? Yeah I'm not sure either, but that's just the beginning of the problems here. I got xrays and the basics, and then after the xrays, the doctor said that they are going to do a level 2 cleaning, so not a "deep cleaning" which is level 3 or higher, just a bigger than level 1 cleaning so they can clean out the gums. When you come to a doctor or dentist, you come to a place where you trust the person's expertise, so I said sure. That may have been my mistake, and maybe I should have said "no I don't want anything else except a cleaning". And then the lady said, okay well before we start your total is going to be $1600. WOW $1600 for a level 2 cleaning. I asked, "oh does my insurance not cover this, I have pretty good insurance". They responded, oh yeah they cover it, the are covering around $1-2k, the rest is on you. Now I already got xrays and obviously I'm going to trust the judgement and think there is just something wrong with my insurance. But no, I got totally scammed. What they actually did was they added some weird charges and upsold me on some gum product which is totally trash. They charged me for "dental instructions", like what? But yes, came for a basic cleaning that should be covered, and got charged $1600 while waiting 2 hours in the lobby. I asked multiple times for clarification and got nothing. And worst of all, they said, oh okay well we can't finish the whole thing because we have to do a polish and you have to come back again Like please, I don't want to come back again, just stop. Bone graft and tooth extraction. I've been going here for a few years now. I think the staffs are very informative and very nice. And Dr. Abjar and his assistant were very gentle and informative. N his assistant always gives me heads up about what Dr. Was gonna do so I won't get startle or anything. I've always got the best of care from them. Procedures done is expensive and the wait is long. But what can we do when each patient get different things done. Some may take longer than others. But there's only 1 or 2 of them. I rather they not rush things than rushing to get to the next patient. They are very careful with their work and always making sure I'm not in pain. I hate the wait of course. But I want it done right the first time l. FYI. Just found out that they accept 3 year olds too. But Dr. Comes once a month for the kids. 2nd part to deep cleaning Appt at 9am, they open the door at 910am. Sit me in chair 920am. Come to numb me at 946am, she used the gel, and 2 seconds later, stuck me with needle. Don't know why she used gel since I still felt the damn needle. They were going to do my bottoms AGAIN because they were too lazy to read the chart to see that they already did the bottom. They started at 958am with the drilling. I guess it's a new technique. The only good thing about the new technique is that it's quicker. My thoughts, though, that are trying to create cavities instead of cleaning smh. She's wants me to come back in 3 months for routine cleaning. I'll pass. They're trying to milk my insurance money. What can improve is.... Every step from scheduling to arriving and checking in. Theres 4 persons working the front and one person blames another person and no one is at fault. I went to this dentist for the first time a couple of years ago and gave them a great review. I am writing this review to tell you if you have a medical condition don't go to this Western Dental. I have a pacemaker. No one has asked me if I have taken antibiotics before my visit which is important for anyone who has a medical condition/device. I have been left in the area after my cleaning dripping with water and blood with no offer of rinsing my mouth after the procedure. I waited 2 hours today for a cleaning and when I noticed the Dr.was in the area with a patient that came in on my 2nd hour, I went to the assistant at the front and wrote a note( I had swabs in my mouth for 25 minutes to numb) reminding her that my appointment was at 2:30, she responded rudely "we don't have control over what happens back there. The Dr's work at their own pace. I can schedule another appointment ". What? You don't see the swabs in my mouth and what about all the time I have been here already. The Dr came up and said he was going to do my teeth now. He did a great job but I did not get to rinse my mouth so I left with a gritty mouth. There so many red flags at this place that for my safety( people die from going to dentist) I will never go back to this rude, insensitive and dangerous place. One more thing, they share other patients information back and forth through out the office and anyone sitting in one of the rooms hear everything. I'm not one to really leave reviews, but I feel it's necessary to. My appointment was at 9 AM - which was pointless. I personally didn't have issues with the staff. My issue is I was there for 2 hours and only got an x-ray done. I did not plan on spending 95% of my time just waiting. The gentleman in the chair next to me was waiting as well and asked how much longer he himself would have to wait (he was sitting there before me) and was responded with "there's still many other people ahead of you." Not everyone has the time to spend unknowing hours at a dental office if you're just there for an exam. It was a hectic environment as you can tell. I came in hopes to get my concerns addressed as I hadn't been to the dentist in awhile, but I couldn't sit around all day waiting for the dentist either. If you have the free time to do so- by all means go ahead. But if you think making an appointment will save you the time it definitely won't. read more

Not good, I have lineco PPO insurance, which is some of the best insurance around. All I wanted was a cleaning, they wanted to try and talk me into some deep cleaning, with a laser which some how racked my bill up to $4000, my insurance covers up to $2000. All of a sudden my minor teeth cleaning visit turned into some oral surgery scam that I do not need. When I asked to just have my teeth cleaned they said it will be $60 but they can't do it because the staff has to go to lunch now. I wasted 2 hours just sitting there while they tried to stick me with some super expensive visit, only to be told they can't even do the work because it's lunch time now. After a month of suffering from wisdom tooth horrible pain and going to ER for help, my insurance sent me to this office to be seen by oral surgeon. I got an appointment scheduled and received 2 phone calls, 1 email and 1 text message 2 days prior to confirm. I even asked them on the phone if everything is okay and I will be seen by the surgeon and they said yes. I went to my appointment, they couldn't find my name at first, and they thought that I want to see an orthodontist, and after that they told me they can do X-ray for me because the surgeon isn't there and won't be back until next month! When I asked why did they schedule me if there's no doctor available they said that the coordinator was the one who scheduled me and he/she has no idea about the doctors. My experience here has not been good, I have been attempting to get ahold of the office manager, Aide, for a week and a half. Regardless of the time that I call, she is not available. I'm told she will call back, she does not. I saw Dentist Maged Nessim, he looked at my teeth for a minute or two and walked off. Next thing I know the manager is bringing me into an office to discuss my treatment plan of which she said the dentist should have discussed, I had not seen him since the initial exam. I was scare-mongered into a full treatment package including Western Dental's GumX and told I could be denied other treatments if not going through with that. First thing they did was take the GumX impressions. Then I get half of a deep cleaning, mouth feels kind of raw after the lidocaine wears off, figure it's normal. I hadn't had any dental work done in a long time. I had broken a tooth and that was the reason for my initial visit so I was referred to RootVision for a root canal on that tooth. That went incredibly well at RootVision, dentist there did comment that I need a deep cleaning and they didn't seem to believe I had had one on half my mouth already. There was visible tartar. RootVision put on a temporary crown, they used tools and shaped the temp and it felt comfortable. Next day, Friday, I'm due back at Western Dental for the second half of the cleaning. I had called and confirmed my appointment and I could do that after the root canal. I get the second half of my mouth deep cleaned by Nessim. When injecting the lidocaine it felt like it went in too deep on the back lower portion and the front upper left. He did the deep cleaning and during so removed the temporary crown. He proceeded to work the cavit in his fingers and mash it into the spot he removed the temporary crown from, having me bite down to make sure it's comfortable. With half my mouth numb I guess it was comfortable, I couldn't feel. After leaving I began to lose feeling in the left side of my face up to my eye and over half of my nose. Family member pointed out my face is swollen as well. Over the next few hours it slowly dissipated but I've never had that occur previously, not even with the root canal. I had more pain from the cleanings verse the root canal. Throughout the day, the cavit temporary crown crumbled and completely came out, leaving my open tooth packed with only cotton, this happened within 4 hours. By now it was Friday night and the office had closed, I had to call Saturday morning. I attempted to go in to have that covered up but was denied and told I would have to wait until Tuesday to see Nessim. I asked to see the dentist that was there and was told, "Sorry, you need to wait for Dr. Nessim." After all of this I end up calling around and get a consultation and crown appointment setup at another office. My tooth was open which increases likelihood for infection and Western Dental wanted me to wait 4 days for them to put another temporary filler on. The last appointment with them had left such a bad impression on me and the temp crumbling in my mouth as the day went on, at on point coworkers saw me spit out a large chunk of it, apparently the last remaining bit covering my tooth, that I could not go back and let them do the crown or cavity work. Western is making mistakes on the more basic things yet I am to trust them with a crown and fillings? No. I had a wonderful experience at the next office I went to. This office said I would need a deep cleaning, pointing out very visible tartar on my front teeth. THIS EAS AFTER A DEEP CLEANING AT WESTERN DENTAL. They didn't believe I had seen another dentist until I told them Western Dental and they seemed to immediately know what was going on. After all of this I had two separate offices say I need a deep clean, both of which provided wonderful care for the services rendered, both of which were after the Western Dental cleanings. I have attempted to refund my Western Dental treatment plan but they are refusing to refund the Gum X treatment although I haven't received any of it, only impressions made. I need another deep clean because there is still tartar on some teeth but Western Dental will not refund the deep cleanings I have done. I need to have them done again, I should not be paying for the initial, poorly done, deep cleanings. I have canceled all future appointments with Western Dental of which I am still receiving confirmation texts and emails, so the office can't even cancel appointments properly. The last time I spoke to Aide, the manager, she attempted to push me to get more cleanings, at first stating it takes multiple deep cleans, which I have never heard of and asking around is not normal. When I said I do no trust Nessim's work she said I can switch dentists and see another one at the office. I had previously stated I want to see another dentist besides Nessim and was denied, this was while I had a gaping hole in my tooth because of Nessim's poor work. read more

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I have been to other western dental locations in the past and this location in Carson is by far the best!
