Andy is great! He knows his locks, he knows his doors, he know literally everything there is know about security and repairs for all things related. He can get your required project or repair taken care of and not at a premium. He comes to the property ready to get things done and does so quickly. Arrives on-time and doesn't waste your time. Had a security gate whose lock and key were not working. Turns out it was the lock mechanism and Andy was able to repair it, rekey it and provide copies of the new keys in an hour. Needed a duplicate key made for a steering wheel lock and called about half a dozen locksmiths who kept referring me back to the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the manufacturer will no longer send out pre-cut keys and only sells blanks that need to be cut by a locksmith since Lowe's and Home Despot won't cut security device keys. I lucked out and called Western Locksmith and spoke to John, who is a locksmith and son of the owner. He was able to find a key blank in his inventory that would work with the lock and cut a new duplicate key in approximately 15 minutes. John was super friendly and professional. One bit of advice is to call ahead and make an appointment because locksmiths are usually out on calls helping clients out in the field. Pricing at $5 was excellent for the service provided. This guy is AMAZING. I was San Diego and needed my passport in order to go to Mexico the next day; however, it was in a locked drawer at my house in San Jose. I called several locksmiths asking if any of them could make a key based off a picture i took with my iPhone. After no's from 4 or 5 of the top locksmith's from Yelp I called this guy and he stepped up to the challenge. That's right. He made a key with just a picture. After my roommate accidentally locked me out of my condo at 10:45 PM one night, I began calling numerous "24 Hour" locksmiths and Western Locksmith was the only one that answered the phone. Professional and Honest Locksmith! We misplaced the master key to our Yamaha cruiser. We got so frustrated after calling so many places because either they costed too much ($180-$200) or required us to tow the bike to their shop which is another cost ($200) to replace the key. He is reasonably priced, came perfect on time, and very nice guy, polite and pleasant, and took off his shoe at door. A review that is totally overdue. Andy helped me out with making a key for my car on short notice--i list the key and had no spares. Considering my car was an old 94 Chevy, i wasnt sure anyone would be able to help me out the same day. Called a couple places only to learn it was going to be very expensive. Andy quoted me a price that was significantly better than the others and even when we ran into a couple unexpected roadblocks, he solved the issue and never tried to use it as a reason to charge more--something a less professional locksmith could easily do to screw you over. My staff members somehow accidentally locked a storage room while closing up for the night. Everyone's car keys, cell phones, etc were in that room and no one could leave. When I called, I was given a 30 minute ETA but someone arrived in only about 20 minutes (at this was at almost 10PM at night.) I was very relieved that they were so fast. There was a misunderstanding about an additional charge, but when I asked, an explanation was promptly given- which I very much appreciated! I have a garage thats detached from our condo. The previous owners did not know the code on the keypad for it, neither did they provide us the key to the manual override vault that has a string attached to disengage the lever. We used to operate the garage door using a wireless remote. Unfortunately this one evening I left the wireless remote inside the car, got out of the garage and thought of trying out the keypad to close the door (duh ?!?!?! total facepalm moment) Once the door shut I realized now i have NO WAY to get in (no manual override key like i said, and no code to the keypad) Now, what I really needed is a ""locksmith"" to help me with the manual override to which i didnt have the key Called almost 3 other locksmiths (wont name them here) and all 3 said we cant help you with what you are talking about. In short they kinda made me feel stupid saying I should call the HOA as they probably know better than me. They ''completely" discounted the fact that I had already identified the solution, and that it had come down to getting a locksmith to help!! One guy went as far as directing me to a ''garage door company" since I used the word "garage"! Andy, the 4th locksmith I called, told him garage door locked out, no manual override key available. ""HE"" asked me the MOST PRECISE and RELEVANT question that a knowledgeable locksmith would - "Does your garage have a manual override lock that looks like a straight line ? or a round/circular style lock that uses a key that looks like a elongated cylinder" -- I was like, YES THIS GUY "KNOWS" what exactly what I am talking about... Andy showed up on time, popped the manual override in few seconds, even helped me set the code on our keypad (which we were incorrectly told DOES NOT WORK), explained the garage door assembly a bit.
