With little credit they not only made it possible for me to be able to take my vehicle home that very day but even after a few days I did, I got called back because they managed to lower my payments even lower! Very professional, very accommodating and they really do help you out! I've been looking for a car for 3years and every dealer just gave me the run around, and only looked out for their best interest not mine. But these guys really do look out for you! Absolute worst dealership you could ever go to. First to start off they were rude right off the bat. After the truck I saw online had a big dent on the other side they didn't show, proceeded to push me in that I wanted it. Once getting offered with a high interest rate and bad staff experience I proceeded to get in my pickup and overheard the guys in the lot talking bad about me and how potential customers like me are a joke. Fast forward a couple weeks later I figure I went to their neighbor Choice Motors (didn't know they had same owners and staff till after the fact) which looked good from the start till 6 months in started seeing where they tried fixing paint and covering the body errors, not to mention the big dent in the bed they they covered and promoted as a "brand new plastic bed liner". Now with a rust spot, paint and body coverups I have to now fix these problems out of pocket. DONT LET THESE FOOLS SELL YOU A PROBLEM VEHICLE, highly dissatisfied and strongly recommend going to a dealership that takes honesty and customer service over making an extra buck... Bought a versa from them about a year ago, They wouldn't give us a spare key with the only key they gave us They also gave us the car fax history of the car saying it wasn't in any accidents but found out very differently when we we went to a real car dealership called carmaxx they told us that the car has been in an accident before I will never go back to western motors we have tried for the last time to give business to Merced been screwed over way too many times Found out also that we were upside down 4 grand when we traded it in.They're lucky I dont sue them for providing false documents. read more

Stopped here to look at a challenger they had on the lot and when the toothless salesman came out to go on a test drive I saw front end damage on the car. I told him I changed my mind and didn't want a car that was messed up in any way and he proceed to make negative comments about my work truck I came in. Very insulting and rude salesman and I would advise anyone thinking about going here to find a more professional lot that doesnt sell junk at a premium. Total bait and switch. We called ahead of time to make sure the car we saw online was still available. We asked specifically which lot we could find it on because there are a few different lots. Russ assured us it was at his location in Merced and when we got there 10 minutes later, he let us know it was at a special sale event in Atwater (where we just came from) and that he wanted us to wait for him to retrieve the car. After about 30 or 40 minutes, he showed up with a completely different car and claimed the one we wanted was "just sold." Yeah Right. Hoping this helps anybody shopping/looking for a new or used car. My brother had purchased a car from WM about 2 years ago, and to date has been a very reliable car. The sale/paperwork process was a little funny, the salesman even mentioning it was his first sale. Overall good experience o. Fast forward to now, my old car decided to kick the bucket. So the shopping began, and after looking a couple places, I came to WM knowing my brother had been treated right there in the past. I don't have good credit, didn't have much of a down payment to work with, and still owed quite a bit on my previous car. However, I need a car for work and have a pretty decent job. I came into WM and was able to explain my situation to my salesman (began with Frank, finished with Candido) and after a small amount of negotiation, we were able to come up with a deal, and they were able to approve for financing. Do keep in mind this is almost a " your job is your credit " lot and that it's not unusual to get APR's in the $16-25% range. Both my salesmen were attentive and helpful. They did have their hands a little full, forgot a few things, but overall did seem like they cared. I did have a problem hearing back from Candido after several calls to a personal number he gave me, but was able to get that squared away elsewhere. Which brings me to my next point. I purchased a beautiful 2015 car, and within days of having it, had a problem with the ECU doing some glitchy stuff. They advised me to bring it back, and even though I had signed papers to buy the car as is, (normal at used car lots) they said I had 30 days from the date of purchase to do so, and they would cover all the charges. (Neither of the salesmen told me this during signing). Well after having my car in their shop for 3 days, I called for a update. They advised me that they took the car to the dealers instead to double check everything, who had found the battery and cables at fault. They covered the whole bill. Was told to return at any time if it gave me any more trouble. Overall, WM was a positive car buying experience, and I would recommend to family and friends. Don't believe all the bad reviews/stories. They are a USED car lot and not all things are perfect. They are willing to make things right. If anything about WM, I would say communication between staff needs some major addressing. They all seem to have different answers. Also, a spare key would've been nice, being as they're around $2-300 at the dealership. Last but not least, please have your salesmen return calls when they say they will. I'll give this place 0 stars if I could, worst car buying experience I ever had, after 2 days of buying a vehicle from this dealer, I have experienced more than 5 mechanical issues with my vehicle. I do not recommend anyone going here, they up sale you on a car and don't tell you anything about what's wrong with it until you find out yourself. I had a horrible experience. I was told by the loan manager that he spoke with the bank and they gave me an interest rate of 2.16%. I thought I was signing a contract to buy the car but it was only an application; a few days later the bank calls me saying that I needed to come in and sign for the car and they did not know why they offered me an interest rate that low because they do not offer rates that low. Western Motors told me it was my fault for signing the agreement even if it was not explained to me and I would have to pay a restocking fee if I were to take it back. My interest rate went up to 3.5%. They promised me 2 free car details and its been over a month and they still have not given it to me or my extra key that they promised. read more

I have to admit that if it wasn't for the AMAZING service I had at their Service Center my overall experience would have been different. The Service Center manager Adam was amazing, very helpful, friendly, and overall willing to do whatever it was in his power to make sure I left happy and that my car was in the best condition possible. I am considering Western Motors because from what I have experienced, they are extremely patient and they are more than willing to work with you in the process. I wish i had the option to give a lesser amount of stars. This buisness is unprofessional and rude. They went as far as running my credit ap and telling me i could get this or that for x amount of dollars and not following through. I was lied to by every person i talked to and treated with no respect. When i asked to speak to the sale manager i was given several different names by different people. I even made plans to meet a sale rep and told him i was on my way when i arrived 20 minutes later he had left "pissed off" the other man on the lot told me. I would not recommend them to anyone!!!!! My husband and I bought a 2013 Ford Escape from here approximately 18months ago. The Bluetooth connection does not work and the employees even recommended avoiding their service department! Now, we have a coolant leak, damaged coolant bypass, and a dead battery totaling almost $1,000 in repairs. We have the extended warranty and it isn't even covered! I was looking for a car. First time buying so wasn't sure what I wanted and I told them this. after showing about 3 cars and I saw that the cars had a lot of bad dents/scratches and still selling at such a high price (did my research) and told the gentlemen about this. One of the gentlemen there started to get rude and at the end said "why don't you just go buy somewhere else". Which is fine I did buy from somewhere else but the service was completely ridiculous. People such as my self were so afraid of a new car but I wish I could go back in time and not waste my time with these people. I got a 2013 Dodge and within a week it was grinding. Took it to the service department where they never updated me on my car and whenever I called in the rude brat on the phone (elexa or whatever) didn't even know what was going on. I thought my cousin got a great deal after traveling from Monterey to buy a Chevy Malibu from here last month. However its been a month and still no tags. She received the paper part of the registration in the mail but there were no stickers in the envelope. When she called western motors to see what happened they told her she could pay 20 bucks and have em replaced...!! Pay to replace what? She never got em..anyways since she lives so far I drove down to western motors to see if i could talk to someone in person and the sales person working said to leave him with her name and number and he would call her back in the morning to fix it..well that was last week and no one ever called her. You would think after putting 5,000 cash down on a car they would be a little more helpful..smh read more

THE ONLY REASON WHY THERE ARE GETTING 1 STARS IS BECAUSE THEY BROKE MY DOWN PAYMENT INTO TWO PAYMENTS. GRANTED. After that down payment is down and you have problems with your car their (Mechanic side) are the worse I've EVER dealt with. They will literally put you on the back burner!! It's been 5 day's since I've been getting the run around from there parts dept. THERE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN (TIRE & PARTS DEPT) IS JUST RIDICULOUS!!!!! They said they give us 4 new tires for the inconvenience of the issue we kept having with the current tire so why is there only 2 new tires on my car? Why is today Wednesday and I went in Friday of last week to get my plates put on the car and there still not done? Why is my clicker to lock/unlock my car still not replaced? I'm wasting time and energy with these people. I would NEVER recommend my family or friends to these people. I thought I could trust them and I can't. One problem after another with my car. My FIRST car that I put $5,000 on gave me nothing but problems from the day I left. They might as well have painted it yellow. As all places I had a 30 day period to report any problems with my car which in fact I did. From engine issues to a flat tire. When I adressed these issues I was given the "you know this is a used car" speech from the shop manager. The flat tire was fixed and that's it. The shop manager there should NOT be a shop manager. He adressed my issues lightly and wanted to keep sending me away with my engine issues to the point where it was three months later and I needed a new engine in which I was informed to pay for. I've never been so angry and treated so poorly from any company in my life. There are great salesman there with great potential as well as others there but one bad seed can ruin it all.. but as far as the shop management goes, they are unprofessional. read more

I bought a 2014 Ford Fusion and after only having my car for 5 months, it left me and my 2 children stranded out of town. While driving home on the freeway, my car began shaking uncontrollably and I had no choice but to pull off and find the closest shop near me. When the guy came out and checked my vehicle he could not believe that Western Motors had sold me my car in the condition that it was in. He then explained to me that I needed all 4 new tires, shocks replaced all the around, an alignment and a balance done. All together I am looking at over a GRAND to get my car completely fixed. I went back to the dealership to explain to them what was going on and was told that I was responsible for all the repairs myslef. I put $6,000 down on this vehicle and being that it was only 2 years old did not think I would have any issues with it after only having it for 5 months!!
