SERIOUS TOWING DISPUTE -- DISABLED PARKING SPACE & VEHICLE DAMAGE On August 28, 2026, Western Towing removed my vehicle from a designated accessible parking space at Las Americas Premium Outlets while a valid disabled placard was prominently displayed. The written tow authorization I received identifies the alleged violation as "WALK-OFF, NON-CUSTOMER." I dispute both the basis for the tow and the characterization of the circumstances. I also discovered physical damage to my vehicle and damage to my dashcam associated with this incident. I have preserved photographs, records, and other documentation concerning the condition of the vehicle and the incident. I submitted formal complaints to the appropriate agencies and received case/complaint confirmation. I am not suggesting that the filing of a complaint itself constitutes a finding of wrongdoing. Importantly, Las Americas Premium Outlets management has now confirmed to me in writing that video footage and documentation of the incident have been preserved. Western Towing has also referred this matter to its corporate counsel, who has acknowledged my evidence-preservation request. The underlying dispute remains unresolved. I am intentionally limiting this review to facts that can be documented. Based on my experience, anyone whose vehicle is towed should immediately preserve the tow paperwork, photographs, receipts, vehicle condition evidence, and all written communications, and carefully review the stated basis for the tow. Beware of this towing company. They partner with HOA's and apartment complexes and can tow your car for any reason. HOA's and apartment complexes definitely get a percentage of the towing fee they charge you to get your car out the tow yard. I parked my car in a permit only parking space, with a valid parking permit. I had expired registration tags on my vehicle, but my car registration was current. They towed my car for having expired tags! I called the local police department and they confirmed a tow truck company can tow your car for expired tags without contacting the police department to verify your car registration is current. Western Towing tows your car at night so it's in their tow yard overnight which costs $370 to get it out. If you ever see this towing company in your neighborhood, run! read more

Predatory towing! My car didn't even have a notice or reason for why they towed it from my 24 hour fitness location. Rude worker Christy at the front who is extremely unprofessional and has a bad attitude. They said to get there at 9 am and they were not ready to help me until 10 am! Dangerous, Unprofessional & Intimidating Experience I recently had an extremely disturbing experience with a driver from Western Towing in Oceanside ROBERT . In my personal opinion, this was the most unprofessional and reckless tow operator I've ever encountered. The driver was aggressive, hostile, and verbally abusive, even cursing at me and calling me names when I questioned what he was doing. The way he spoke to me as a woman and homeowner was unbelievably disrespectful. Worst of all, he attempted to tow a vehicle while my friend was still inside the car and another person was underneath working on it. The level of danger and carelessness was shocking -- someone could have been seriously hurt. His behavior escalated to the point where he made intimidating gestures, acted like he was trying to start a fight with my friends, and tried to pressure and threaten us by saying I could "get kicked out of my house" if I didn't admit fault and allow the tow. It felt like pure intimidation and abuse of authority. Because of how reckless and threatening the situation felt, the police were called. When officers arrived and saw what was happening, they ordered him to put the car down immediately. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how out-of-line this situation was. This was hands-down the most unprofessional, unsafe, and hostile experience I've ever had with any service provider. My apartments use them. I parked in the correct spot, with sticker, everything current. I didnt move my car for 2 days and they decided to tow it saying it hadn't been moved in 4 days. They said my manager called it in but my manager said no they did not. My apartments tried to work with them to release it but conveniently the tow driver that towed it is "on vacation" the next day it happened. They have a contract with Glenbrook Terrace apartments where my mother lives in and I went to go visit. I was only there for a few minutes so I figured I didn't need a pass, my fault, but by the time I came back out they were already taking pictures of my car so I hurried to get in and said I'll be on my way. The tow truck driver responded "Next time this shit's mine." I didn't catch his name but this happened earlier today. This review is specifically for the Oceanside lot. Western towed my car across the street from their oceanside location and had it in their lot in less than ten minutes (I know this because they have time stamps of everything on the invoice) . The woman I spoke with on the phone insisted to me that they didn't have the car and she would know if it was on its way or in the lot so I needed to report it stolen. Somehow after the police were involved and they called and spoke to someone else my car was magically there. The unpleasant woman on the phone is who I had to deal with to get my car back and she went out of her way to be rude which wasn't surprising unfortunately. Be ready to involve the authorities when dealing with this miserable place because they are sketchy. read more

Absolute worst company I've dealt with in a long time. Every single person who answered the phone was nothing but rude and unprofessional, had snarky comments, and attitude like I've never heard before. One lady was nearly yelling at us, saying that our car was not there (despite providing the VIN number) and acting like we were stupid. She called back a few minutes later because she had made a mistake and eventually found the car.. don't think she even apologized for how rude she was. They charge all sorts of nonsense fees and apparently an extra $100 because there are "no business hours" so they have to dispatch someone to the yard to get the car. They told us to wait for someone to call us and made us wait the entire day (car got towed around 2am and it's now 8pm!) But also would charge more fees to keep it overnight. $400 and an entire wasted day. No one likes getting their car towed, but you don't have to add salt to the wound. Western Towing deals with its customers in an unprofessional way. My vehicle was towed from my development and taken to a yard in San Marcos. I called and asked when the vehicle would be made available for pickup and the applicable fees. I spoke to a representative that told me it would be $290 for pickup of the vehicle- already an outrageous fee. It was a Sunday and I needed my car- so I arranged to pick it up the same day. Upon arrival, there was only one person servicing the whole yard. It was clear that it would take a while for my vehicle to be released- and so it did. I waited over 40 minutes for the representative to finally deal with my situation. I entered the office and prepared to pay the towing fee. Little did I know that there was a $100 fee for "after hours pickup." Absolutely ridiculous- the person that was at the yard was already there, wasn't called out specifically for me, and I'm charged an additional $100 just for pickup on a Sunday- when the company knows that most people need their vehicles as soon as possible. Not only was this fee imposed, but I was not told this fee would be in play. I'm not complaining much about the base $290- it's the $100 charge that I am not satisfied with. I begrudgingly agreed to pay. A total of $390 for a tow and 6 hours of storage. Unbelievable. I later called to ask about the $100 fee. The representative was rude and refused to issue a refund for a charge that I do not remember being mentioned to me nor communicated prior to driving to San Marcos- not to mention the scam that is the fee itself. I didn't really wanna have to have a towing truck pick my car. I kind of had no choice yesterday. I was runoff the road by some crazy driver and my car was totaled. Ended up leaving in an ambulance. I woke up with a text message from the officer saying my car was in the western towing companies yard. I called them at 8 AM when they opened and I was there at 9:30 to get my stuff yeah it's a little annoying that they can only let one person at a time in the yard but I get it. They deal with a lot of irate people they repo cars, They keep cars that are not supposed to be touched by the owner or anyone for that matter anymore so they have to protect themselves and anyone who come in the yard. I would highly recommend using them. I didn't have a bad experience at all. I was able to get my belongings and sign off that my insurance company will be handling the rest all in a matter of 30 minutes because someone had just arrive there right before me. Hope I dont need a tow company but if I do I have a local option. read more

Horrible experience - I had parked in a reserved spot at my apartment complex and the people in the reserved spot called the Western Towing and had my car towed, without notifying the management office which they should have done. This cost me 1 day of lost wages and $350! A tenant should not have the ability to call a towing company on another tenant without first notifying the rental office and giving them a chance to move their car. These people will see me in Small Claims court for $350 and emotional damages and lost wages. Plus it took forever for these snakes to get my car out. They wouldn't take last year's car registration. My car was towed at my own expense, which isn't the issue, but once i picked up my car i noticed issues with the drivetrain. After diagnosis and a tear down of the car at the dealership, not only was the center differential shot, but more issues within the transmission became apparent. $5500 in damage later, my car will be needing a new center differential and a rebuild of the transmission. I don't know who to blame for this. The scumbag tow company, the scumbag apartment complex HOA, or the scumbag neighbors who just wanted to tow my truck for no reason. Still trying to get to the bottom of this,  but my truck was towed in the middle of the night,  at 1:30am. I woke up and went outside my girlfriends apartment in the morning and thought my truck was stolen. Called Oceanside PD and they informed it was towed for "not having a permit" . There was no warning, no HOA letters sent out, and no signs. Feel it's very unfair to tow in the middle of the night without even the courtesy of a warning. .$290 later and I have my truck back.  2 stars because at least the haggered looking woman in the front was kind and stoic about the whole process. She informed me they tow from my girlfriends apartment complex all the time. Weird. In the last 6 months of me visiting her I've never even seen a tow truck in the neighborhood. Do not use western towing in oceanside. They tow cars without being authorized. There are currently 4 separate customers outside the locked doors, all 4 cars were unauthorized tows and they won't assist anyone. Their response is "sue us".
