Just your local big mall. They have a huge food court, JCPenny, Costco, Macys, Target, and other smaller stores like Footlocker, Windsor, Aeropostale, and much more. The stores here are all affordable compared to Tysons mall and Montgomery mall in which these malls have high-end expensive stores and expensive brands. They have an amazing perfume section at Macys. The store is clean, however, the bathrooms could always use some work cause they stink and are messy. A diverse mall but has more Hispanics and Black people. They have a CVS near by. Wheaton train station is also very close by. Lots of deals all the time as well

I think I took this photo cause I liked the name because I liked the video game Earthbound. This has nothing to do with one another.

Has it come to this... I'm reviewing a mall... not one particular store... but a mall in general. That's kinda like reviewing humans as a species... they're pretty unique and special individually... but as a collective whole... we're kinda stupid. Does that make sense? No. Well... I don't know where I'm going with this. This mall is pretty basic as it comes btw. It had a target and a Costco which is what i usually come here for. The Sarku is pretty good here. Surprisingly, Spencer's is still around. This hasn't been upgraded as much as Montgomery Mall and seems like a memory trip back to the late 90s. 3 stars. Ain't bad... but it's also nothing special...

This was my first time coming to Wheaton. I'm typically a Tyson's type of gal. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. Sure it was crowded but it was a Sunday afternoon. There were ample stores that I could actually find affordable clothing in. The H&M here is amazing! Everything is so organized and it's very large in comparison to Lake Forest. I was able to navigate the aisles freely and purchase my clothes with no problem. The Olive Ole here is HUGE! This is more of a trendy fashion nova type store. I used to frequent the one off of Little River Turnpike in VA so I was sooo happy to see one in a mall! Most of their clothes I would never wear but if you look hard enough you can find some gems at a very low price. The Macy's also shocked me. Usually they are small with frumpy dress clothing but I actually found some seriously cute work clothes here. If you're looking for a new bag, Michael Kors, is an designed as it gets. I didn't have time to check the other department stores. Parking was a pain and a little confusing. I ended up parking by Macy's & Target. How great that a mall also has a Target? Love it! I'll definitely be back to check out more stores! This may end up being my go to mall.

Revisited the mall yesterday just to run in and grab my birthday gift from JCPenny's Sephora! It wasn't very busy at all after the New Year's like I had thought it would be with all the huge discounts and sales going on after the holidays. Still, everyone is doing a great job social distancing and wearing masks.

I've only seen the area from the highways that are tree lined. I am quite amazed by how out of touch I was for this area. This mall is quite expansive. The one thing I love about the DMV area is that the malls are still thriving. Not to the point where every single store is filled, but no where near dead mall territory. I had some time to kill before I had to head back home and wanting to pick up some items. Parking here had me. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to park. I ended up in the outdoor lots and didn't even want to mess with the parking structure. As a note, early here means you will encounter a slew of parents with their children in tow. Be careful and mindful in the parking lot as they will be everywhere. The mall had a bit of everything in here. The typical anchors and national chains you would expect to find in a mall. Food court area was jammed with eateries and customers. I opted to not eat here. Would definitely come back. Especially on a lazy day. Good people watching, enough stores to grab whatever you might be thinking of getting, and ample parking.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this mall after so many years! The food court is always packed with people with many different choices. The restaurants available inside the mall is always interesting. I saw a new Thai takeaway place downstairs near where Claire's used to be. The selections of the store keeps evolving. I had no idea Lululemon moved and has a bigger store now. It's hard to believe that the malls in America are dying when you see how crazy busy it is at the Mall. I couldn't find parking until I parked closer to the old Sears lot. And that was during a weekday well after Christmas and New Year's too. My nickname at work used to be the Mall Rat Haha! I can't wait to discover what new stores are coming and going the next time I return.

Parking review. Gone are the days of getting a paper ticket…read moreat a Pike & Rose garage or paying cash at a machine. Nowadays, their machine setup is a bit different. I recently took a visit to one of the spots within Pike & Rose and when I rolled into one of their garages to grab a ticket at the entrance, I was caught off guard. Not only was there no button to press for a ticket; I noticed the setup was completely different to when I last saw it (I don't visit very often). The screen prompted me to enter my phone number, but since I was new to this whole setup, I decided to bypass that prompt entirely. It showed me as being anonymous and I noticed a 4-digit code popped up on the screen for me to remember. As I parked, I quickly noted the code and the time I entered. After taking care of things, it was time for me to head out. As I proceeded to leave (ready with the 4-digit code it gave me earlier), and pulled up to the garage exit, I noticed the bar to the gate rose up without me doing anything. So, I left. It wasn't until later I realized it must have scanned my license coming in and leaving. Good to know. I did a little research and found some FAQs located here: https://www.vendpark.io/property/pikeandrose. Visited July 2025

I could spend a day shopping and eating at Pike and Rose and then, go see a movie. If you haven't stopped by I would give them a try. : )

I remember when Veteran's Plaza had the artifical grass back in the day. I have seen businesses like Pier 1 and different restaurants and shops come and go, but I have still found myself coming down here. One thing I have always loved about DTSS is the ethnic/cultural/national diversity in the area. I have observed different African, Asian, Latin, even Pacific Islander people down here. It's not just a White and Black town by any stretch of the imagination and is one of the most diverse places in all America! Now the parking garages might not be the best convenience wise, but at least they do not cost that much money on weekdays and are actually free on weekends. The events are what shape DTSS. I have been to place such as Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee, Bourbon Street in New Orleans Louisiana, Greektown in Detroit, Michigan, and E and 4th Street in Cleveland, but home is always where the heart is. Ellsworth Place always will be a street that is iconic in its own right and a gem in the DMV region. The best time to visit although crowded but for good reason is when free festivals especially music festivals such as the Annual Blues festival and the Annual Jazz festival are in town in DTSS. These are fun, free, and great for singles, families, couples, you name it! Sure, the crime has increased and there has been negative press and attention around that, but the place is still cool just to get out, people watch, maybe hit a restaurant like Copper Canyon and even go to the newer arcade/bar/restaurant the Eleanor that is cool encompassing miniature bowling (duck pin), basketball hoops, pinball machines, among other arcade games. It is just the simple things in life sitting outside on a nice spring, fall, or even summer evening/night and getting some fresh air and relaxing is key. The Veterans plaza portion further down Ellsworth place during the winter time has the popular ice skating rink. The fall time will showcase the legendary and free, yes I said free, annual Silver Spring Jazz festival that attracts thousands of people. The Ellsworth place is set up like a plaza, and an outdoor elevator and stairs can take people upstairs for more restaurants including a Japanese grill, although they have lost their spark and flame in recent years, if you get what I mean. Family lunch, dinner, singles, dates, couples, you name it there are restaurants and things to do here. Shopping is nice along the strip. DSW was outside next to the Wayne garage for centuries but has moved onto one of the upper levels of Ellsworth Place mall (at the intersection of Fenton Street and Ellsworth Place) and has been replaced by a Nike factory store outlet. Not too far from Ellworth place has the legendary AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center for classic movies with popcorn, beverages even beer, and of course the Fillmore music concert for awesome live music, among small business/boutiques scattered around the area.
