He delayed my treatment and wouldn't even say hello, whenever he had to interact with me (which were rare occasions). He could have just said so, instead of treating me in such an unethical, inhumane and humiliating fashion at the most vulnerable time in my life. His assistant probably noticed and attempted to make up for his rude and unprofessional behavior, and that was very appreciated (she is a sweetheart.) His hygienists are amazing and I am so thankful for them. Do us all a favor and retire, Dr. Margeas! You ARE NOT God's gift to dentistry, as you think you are. The location is easy to find. The building looks nice from the outside. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the front desk. Its a nice open floor plan. I checked in and filled out my health questionnaire. My appointment started on time. I was at ease right away with my hygienist, Brooke. She was very nice and was easy to talk to. She really had her work cut out for her since it had been a minute since I had an appointment. She listened to me when I had questions about my appointment and played along with me when I let her pick the flavor to use to clean my teeth. My dentist, Dr Erickson, came in and was very kind as well. I really appreciated the time they spent with me. I am happy with the move I made to the new dentist. I've been going to him for…read more7 years now and that's after not seeing a dentist previously for 20 years due to panic attacks from a bad dental experience in the 1980's! I have anxiety disorder so they are able to use "gas" to keep me relaxed. My periodontal problems are gone and so are five cavities and now I see him three times a year with very little anxiety to keep my periodontal issues under control. He even worked me in the same day for an emergency. Delta Dental and all forms of Medicare and other insurers are accepted. If you don't have dental insurance no worries, they will write up a payment program. As long as Dr Thies is in business I will always go to him; I can't imagine going to a different dentist.

When we came across some opportunity spots, I was encouraged by being advised how I can remedy the situation. Dr. Cowherd is great. Very warm, personable, and inviting. It took a few months to be able to schedule an appointment and with precautions changing daily about the Coronavirus, I wasn't sure I would be able to keep my appointment. I was asked to fill out a brief questionnaire but was able to keep my appointment. Upon meeting Julie, the hygienist, I immediately told her my fears and that I had an unpleasant experience with the last hygienist I visited. Julie was very understanding and extremely gentle; she gave me a stress ball to squeeze and told me to raise my hand if I needed a break. She did a full set of X-rays, using the child size to better fit my small mouth (no jokes please!). The cleaning went much smoother than anticipated and Dr, Allie did a brief exam. I was happy no follow up was needed and scheduled my next appointment before leaving.

The assistant took xrays, which was uncomfortable, but not a new experience for me because I have a shallow mouth. The shocker came when Dr. Edwards looked at the xrays and informed me that I had NINE cavities that needed fillings. I was immediately suspicious, because I had been to my regular dentist in Ames about a year before that and had no concerns. I brushed my teeth and flossed, and I was shocked to hear her say I would need to get them all fixed soon. Luckily for me, my guard was up and I told her I would schedule an appointment later. Honestly, I didn't believe her diagnosis and I wanted another opinion. I ended up returning to my dentist in Ames 6 months later, and what do you know, I have NO cavities. I have two areas that are weakened and that they are watching, but no cavities. Not a single one! It is clear to me that Dr. Edwards is either not very good at her job, or was trying to intentionally grab money from me. I'm unsure of which is worse. They are unfailingly polite, prompty, and helpful. They took the time to help me puzzle out my dental insurance and figure out what was covered and how much and helped me come up with a treatment plan. Dr. Davidson is the perfect amount of funny and sarcastic in a way that takes your mind off the fact that someone is using power tools in your mouth and he has a real knack for pacing the procedure to give you little breaks to swallow, wiggle your jaw, and close your mouth right when you need them. All in all a fantastic experience-I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

A few years ago, I was about to start chemo treatments and I was able to call and talk to one of the dentists about how this would impact my mouth and teeth and any recommendations for oral care.
