While the optometrist here clearly seems to know his stuff and the office itself does seem to be equipped with the latest equipment technology-wise, the overall office experience for patients/customers drastically suffers from some combination of two primary weaknesses: lack of staff and/or absolutely no regard for previously scheduled/agreed upon appointment times. At this office, if you have an appointment with Dr. Nagy at 10am during the week, don't be surprised if you don't actually see him until 10:30/11am because he's busy assisting a WALK IN! (and there's nobody else who can help you OR the walk in, because nobody else is even there to assist in the office!). On top of that the receptionist seems like she was hired straight out of high school and its clear that she would rather communicate with you via TEXT as opposed to a simple conversation over the phone *sigh*- and EVEN if you're lucky enough to actually see the receptionist there on any given day, be grateful...I have been here enough times to find that the optometrist is the ONLY person in he office which means, YES, more waiting...giving no legitimacy to the good old fashioned appointment system..... Would NOT recommend this place until they hire more people and/or step up their professionalism!!! read more

I came in today with an issue with my glasses. I am not even a customer and they helped me immediately and didn't charge me. Not to say they work for free but the woman was able to fix it within a few seconds (something I could not do on my own) and told me not to worry about it. That doesn't happen this day in age. Dr. Nagy was very unpleasant, and at times creepy. This guy seems to lack any passion in what he does for a career. The worst part of all is he wrote down the "wrong" prescription and only after I corrected it, made me drive back to receive my "correct" prescription. I've been going to Westgrove Vision for about 12 years. Dr Nagy is very knowledgeable and always provides excellent eye care for my family. His office is conveniently located, well maintained, and his assistant is very friendly and helpful. They also have a wide assortment of frames and sunglasses. What I like most about this office is Dr Nagy's personality. He has a dry sense of humor I find inviting, and he's just an all around nice person. He is also very no nonsense; and not pushy at all like some doctors I have had in the past. The best thing I can say about him is I trust him to always deliver the best eye care. It's good and a bit of meh. Dr. Nagy knows his stuff and has some good equipment including an Optomap machine that is scaled down and less finicky than others. He is pretty much straight-to-business - no small talk. He went over the results and showed us the Optomap results and explained everything quite technically. Location is good, just down a few stores from Trader Joes. Their selection of frames is pretty good, but not too much in the way of kids frames.. we ended up taking our prescription with us to look at other stores. If you're looking for warm and fuzzy - look elsewhere... if you're looking for straight-to-business,no small talk, and no pressure sales... check it out. read more

If you've been looking (pun intended) a new eye doctor make sure to stop in here. They carried a specific brand that I was looking for and that is what originally made me choose Westgrove Vision. The entire staff and the Dr. were very kind and willing to assist. I really felt comfortable during the eye exam which was completed efficiently. I scoped out a new pair of regular glasses and now just have to wait until January to get sunglasses. They were very patient explaining what my coverages were through my insurance. I have been going to Westgrove Vision with my family for years. Dr. Nagy and his staff are simply the best, most conscientious optometrist office I have ever had. We thought we could save money by just getting the Rx and buying online. . . that just doesn't work. Despite all the promises of quality, speed, etc. there is simply NO substitute for Dr. Nagy's skill, value and support. His staff is always ready and willing to help adjust our glass frames or help with a repair. I have learned from Dr. N that there are many aspects to making even slightly complicated Rx work - and buying online can never address those nuances. Finally, I should point out that not all Optometrists in this area are the same - I have been through the process with some that I now realize cared only about that first big sale -- multiple glasses, lenses, etc. Don't fall for it --get a good one like Dr. Nagy and Westgrove. Then trust the eyes of you and your family to them. You will have no regrets. read more

We were mostly happy with this office until my son lost a screw in the frames on his glasses. I brought the frames up to Westgrove upon first calling to see if the office did repairs. I gave the frames to the technician and she informed me that they were broken and could not be repaired. I was then informed that my son would need a new vision appointment and would need to purchase new frames. The glasses were about 3 years old and only used as a back up pair.We purchased them at Westgrove. My son did not agree and once again said that the frames just needed a new screw. We went online and purchased a new screw kit from RayBan directly and we saved $300! The simple fix took 2 minutes! Dr. Nagy is an excellent good doctor but we are not too thrilled with his office staff. read more

Came here to find a back-up pair of glasses. I chose Westgrove in large part because of the 40 percent off deal being offered for checking in. This was a big deal, as glasses can be very expensive, and we choose not to take vision insurance. The prices for frames and lenses here are reasonable to begin with, so with my discount, I was able to obtain a pair of glasses for just under 400 bucks, a great deal. Even without the coupon, the price would have been reasonable, especially compared with someplace like Lens Crafters. My only criticism is that the selection of men's frames was limited; they seem to keep more women and children's options in stock. All in all a good experience, and I could easily see myself returning here the next time I need glasses. read more
