Schmidt's is a grocery store but also has a full deli counter service offering a variety of breakfast and lunch options, plus hot food like fried chicken, hot dogs, burgers, you name it. The store was well organized and well stocked. Serve yourself options like the salad bar were well maintained and sanitary looking. I ordered two breakfast burritos which were well made and hefty. On my way out I also grabbed some brown butter toffee cookies from the front at the cashier, and truly I am still thinking about these cookies on a regular basis. They were that good. Ok so after I jiggle the door once I wait a few more minutes and who pops out but the woman from behind the counter who took my order and didn't know how to make a chicken wrap. I was flabbergasted when she rudely and loudly says to me that if the indicator says its occupied then it is. So she was annoyed I jiggled the door handle once? Seriously? There's one bathroom for everyone, why were you in there for 10 minutes during a peak period? And you talk to a customer like that? You need to get a life. Looking at the many other negative reveiws here seems bad manners, bad food and bad service are the norm for this Goldberg's. I will definitely avoid my next time in Westhampton.
