    Clam chowder
    Lindsey B.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great little indoor/outdoor restaurant right on the harbor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You get to be outside with great food, but missing the high class society of Montauk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside under the covered patio and watched the boats come through and the fisherman get their lines ready for the day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They don't have any lunch specials here, but their sushi rolls are so fresh and delicious! We ended up splitting a cup of the clam chowder and I think that it was probably just left over from the day so it was really thick but not without loss of flavor! The East Coast roll had pepper tuna, which gave it some really great flavor.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all, live music scene has always been good here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, we have never encountered such terrible service experience at any restaurant across the globe that treating paying customers this way. We were told to either sit at the bar and order dinner or wait for 1 hour. So, we decided to choose the bar option. We ordered 5 dishes and drinks. The food took almost 40 mins to come to the bar. We didn't say anything thinking it's Labour Day weekend and keep a smiley faces until the end. Unfortunately, we have just finished our second dish and ordered 3rd drink, the big fat guy came at us and asked us to get up to finish our drinks because his friends are behind the bar ( he's asked us TWICE not once) emphasising that his good paying customers are standing behind us. Then WHO ARE WE ??!! Meanwhile, we have just got our 3rd drinks served on the counter. The second time , this person introduced himself as George , the executive chef and asked if we knew his acquaintances. And we said "NO" and " STOP HARASSING US"! We were in shock as he's not only unappreciated our business, but also very rude as he kept coming twice to ask us to take our drinks and stand up to drinks so his friends can sit down at the bar counter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant has a large capacity both indoor and outdoor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We still cannot fathom what George was trying to tell to the bar scene here. There were lots of individuals who were only there for a beer , he didn't approach them but he chose the couple who are paying more than $200+ for their dinner and have just ordered their 3rd drink to stand up so his friends could sit down and order food !!??? This is absolutely not a recommended place for dinner, especially if you were advised to sit at the bar counter. Personally speaking, your money is definitely appreciated somewhere else without being harassed this way.

APPS We got the ginger salad (3.5/5) and kani salad (5/5). Ginger salad was really standard/average, super refreshing but totally not worth $7. Kani salad was delicious though; mayo was not too heavy, tempura added a nice crunch factor, and thinly sliced cucumber added a refreshing taste. SASHIMI Got two sashimi platters (3/5) for the table... they were OK. My favorite was the yellowtail followed by the salmon... they mistakenly charged for the rice even though it was technically included. ROLLS For more simple rolls, got the spicy scallop roll (3.5/5) and spicy fluke roll (5/5). Spicy scallop was good, but spicy fluke was really good. The fish tasted fresh and there was a nice crunch in there too. SPECIALTY ROLLS -Lotus roll (4/5): lobster on top with tobiko was really good... lobster in montauk is so fresh! Tuna inside was just OK, not sure how much I liked the sweet chili sauce. This roll was on the smaller side -Sunrise roll (4.5/5): this roll is also on the smaller side, but was my favorite of the specialty rolls. Nice tempura crunch factor in the spicy salmon and I love ikura. Mayo on top was a bit much though, but salmon overall was very fresh -Pink Lady Roll (4/5): eat this right away before the shrimp tempura gets soggy, but the tempura was delicious! Paired well with the avocado and spicy tuna, but I did not love the sweet chili sauce -Tiger roll (2.5/5): my least favorite... more bland, nothing fancy, and was not a fan of the kombu seaweed. Also, the sriracha did not complement the piece at all. Overall, solid fish with a few misses here and there. Convenient sushi for the area though! For rolls, we

We arrived at 4 and other people were also arriving and we all had to wait to order our food. Our fried calamari was incredible and definitely fresh. The menu states that majority of the fish is caught that same day. I had steak frites as my entree. It wasn't the best and definitely lacked flavor. My husband ordered the spicy salmon and shrimp tempura roll. He said they were very good but couldn't been colder. Our flourless chocolate cake extremely lacked flavor and didn't taste fresh. I could've gone without it. Nevertheless, it's a restaurant that's tradition and we always enjoy our experience and view.

Service - 2/5 - place was jammed, but still very slow. Ambiance - 5/5 - nice location with live music. Overall - 3/5 - stand by my original 3 star review. This place is a bit overhyped and you pretty much pay for the experience of eating there. Food was a mixed bag, some dishes really good, others are whatever. The Tuna with lentils was by far the best. Service was very slow, you cannot make a reservation so you are playing Russian roulette walking into the door. Even the place being busy, still took way too much time get things moving. You pay for the location, nice spot on the water, live music, modern inside, that is where you pay. All things considered, probably would not return. Best Dish - Tuna with lentils Would Return - Not likely

Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I started with the fluke sushi, which I'd never tried before, and it was delicious. (I wish I could accurately describe sushi/fish in better detail, but I can't so just trust me on this one!) For my main course, I ordered the hot lobster roll, and as an avid lobster roll-lover, it did not disappoint. The lobster was served in generous, chunky pieces with just the right amount of butter. It came with fries that were perfectly crispy, though I do wish they had been seasoned a bit more. The restaurant overlooks the inlet, making it the perfect spot to relax and watch the boats come and go. The staff was welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. They also played great music -- that particular day they were playing country music (a southerner's dream!). Last but not least, another bonus is the location. There are several charming little shops just steps away, making it easy to browse before or after your meal. My biggest fear is it's going to be super crowded the next time I'm back in Montauk and I won't get a table. With that being said, I absolutely cannot wait to eat another amazing lobster roll with that lovely view! 5 stars for the lobster roll, 5 stars for the view, 5 stars for the hospitality!

It was a bit above average for the area and prices were better than I've seen elsewhere. My husband and I dined in on a Saturday around 6 pm. The place was already slammed with online orders and it did not stop the entire hour or so we spent in the building. Everything is disposable even when dining in and eating out of styrofoam isn't my preference but ok. It's a small establishment and I would guess the overwhelming majority of their business comes through online ordering. So, order online rather than go in as there is no real ambiance. I tend to order pretty basic rolls and sashimi which I think really levels the playing field when it comes to sushi. So, my commentary on the sushi is just based on the quality of the fish. It was alright not particularly vibrant or fresh. But not bad either. The pieces of sashimi were literally the biggest I've ever seen. They were too big to comfortably one-bite. The spicy tuna roll was pretty good and didn't require soy sauce to make it palatable. The miso soup was also good. My husband loved their salad dressing. If we decide to order again I would skip the sashimi and probably order some à la cart nigiri to form my final opinion. The search for a truly killer sushi place around here continues.
