Super Fantastic food! From the outside kind of looks like laid back casual taco spot! Inside very causal yet cool surfer vibe. Service and margaritas were great. Not fancy! Laid back, casual! The menu and what came out of the kitchen was exceptional and "5" worthy alone. We had some sushi grade tuna tacos with crispy wonton style shells. The tacos were dressed with all the right flavors and additions you would expect from a top sushi joint. Excellent! We also had Moroccan spiced lamb sliders! Wow good! Perfect! My husband and I and two friends went to the gigshack while vacationing in MTK this past week . I have also been there with family several times before and love it . We went for dinner at 6 , and although it was crowded , we were sat at a table right away . Our server was lovely and the food and drink was great ! No complaints .. they also frequently have live music playing which they did that night . A fun place ! read more

FIVE STARS for the key lime pie alone! I've not been this excited about key lime pie since 2013 in Key West! This was the best I've had since the first time I've ever tried it. The mussels were great too. We ordered both the white wine mussels and Thai (both good but white wine better). Order mussels with extra broth if you're sharing. The chicken was good with the chili sauce. Duck was ok. The tuna taquitos were VERY good. I've been coming here since 2018 and never missed a visit whenever i'm by Montauk and they have never failed me every single time. The food is consistently great, the people are awesome, and the ambiance is always top-tier. Bar service seems like everywhere in Montauk, if you're a local, you're treated well, but if they don't recognize you, there's no real hospitality or service. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Montauk!!! The food is the best in town and they have RANGE. From Thai mussels to fish tacos to chicken wings to ribs to pasta dishes to lamberginis to fresh tuna tartare, they can do it all (which a lot of restaurants can't say). A lot of their ingredients are local and seasonal which makes it even more special!! Ambiance is 10/10 - major surf town, coastal, classic local MTK vibes. The place is run by the best local family and they easily make Montauk feel like home for everyone. Such a fun place! The vibes and tunes are great. It's a popular spot so expect a but of a wait if you're there at prime time. We had about a 20 minute wait around 7-8PM on a Monday night, and by they were ready to seat us they were telling people it was an hour wait! The food was fresh and delicious. We had a really nice time. The only bad thing I can say is that we ordered an empanada appetizer off the menu not realizing that it was truly just one empanada - while delicious, it was a bit disappointing for the price and not what you expect when ordering an appetizer to share! read more

Upon arriving the inside was packed, and me and my wife really didn't want an eat outside because it was cold that night. The waitstaff guy outside was very nice and sat me and my wife next to a lamp that was outside and it was a little warmer. For an appetizer we got a Cuban empanada and it was out of this world. A lil small and you only got one for $12 dollars but it was excellent. For entrees I got a pat La Frieda bacon cheese burger that was out of this world. I love pat La Frieda blend of burgers and steaks. Pat La Frieda is too tier and the burger was amazing. My wife got the Hawaiian baby back ribs that were some of the best ribs I had in a long time. Ribs were small but very good and packing a lot of flavor. They give you a full rack and the corn bread that comes with it was some of the best corn bread I ever had. Came here on an off season Monday night, but all my expectations were blown away one after the other. Starting with the atmosphere, it's pretty unassuming from the front and looks like a typical dive bar, but it's got a lot of charm once you get inside and get to experience some of the eclectic design choices. Huge shout out to our server Blaine and the kitchen staff for accommodating our large-ish party and a whole boat load of questions and requests we had. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all patient! I'd probably recommend this place for his service alone. But luckily The Gig Shack has a lot more to offer than just that. We shared orders of the beet and goat cheese salad as well as the wings (which they subbed out for duck wings while we were there, which to me is just an improvement as a duck lover) and both were fresh and delicious. Wings come in orders of four so make sure you order enough for everyone! Trust me they are so worth it. For my main entree, I had the crispy chicken which was perfectly portioned and delicious, the mustard cream sauce I would put on damn well near anything. Also tried their ribs and they are were fall off the bone tender and could easily keep up with any BBQ joint I've been to. The rest of our party also tried the fluke, the clam chowder and the blackened tile fish and all of them had nothing but wonderful things to say. We went on a Monday night and we were surprised that they were already pretty crowded by 6:30pm. Arrive early as they do not take reservations. We got and loved the following: - Tuna tartare taquitos: 2 per order. Very light and refreshing. Perfect for sharing. - Pulled pork empanada: 1 per order. We cut it in half (but we also ended up ordering a second one because it was so good) for sharing. The pork is so tender and covered in a delicious sauce. This was such a good empanada! Served with some really good coleslaw. - The lobster roll! OMG - did these folks invent lobster roll on a croissant because it was both genius and delicious. Ignore the price tag, it's worth it. The croissant is piled high with lots of delicious lobster meat. We almost ordered a second one of these, but we were pretty full. - The key lime pie was also really delicious. The crust was full of flavor. Our server was extremely friendly, event amidst a packed restaurant. She even offered to bring us additional toasted bread for the sauce that came with our clams. They only take walk ups but the wait was not long at all. They were super busy but the staff was pretty attentive. We had to sit outside because we had our dog with us so I can't say much about ambiance, but it was a Sunday night and they had live music which was nice. We started with the blueberry lemonade whisky drink which was so refreshing and delicious. Then we got the Caesar salad which has dill in it and croissant croutons - unreal. I got the lobster roll (Maine style) which comes on a homemade croissant and it was delicious. There was just enough dill on there and it was so fresh. The slaw on the side was also phenomenal and the fries were perfectly crispy. Definitely worth checking out! read more

We were looking for a casual restaurant to eat at and someone at our hotel recommended we visit 668. It was in the perfect location for us to walk around downtown Montauk. We were able to be seated right away even though they were pretty busy. I loved that they offer GF buns so I ordered a lobster roll on. GF bun. We both ordered drinks as well that were really good. I love that even if you're sitting inside, due to the open doors and windows, it basically has an indoor-outdoor vibe. We needed to have lunch after visiting the Montauk Lighthouse. We wanted just a light bite... my hubby ordered the Lamborghini (lamb sliders). They were served with red cabbage Cole slaw, which was quite tasty and enjoyable. The slider was okay initially as well. The ground lamb must have had a bone shard in it.... Hubby bit off a bite and broke his tooth. That was a bummer. I had the grilled asparagus with a sunny-side-up egg. This was a great play on a Hollandaise sauce... to complete the effect, I would have squeezed a lemon over the dish for that bite of freshness, or at least served with a lemon wedge.
