So happy I stopped by! The customer service was on point. Prices were on point. They have some tables to sit at inside. The cook let me taste the carnitas before getting tacos since I couldn't decide what meat to get. I loved the carnitas! Their guacamole is refreshing with a little kick. I wish they had a spicier salsa but their salsas are really good and fresh. Some of the best Mexican food I've had in Davis for a minute...

This place is phenomenal, if you are thinking about visiting please do. The food and grocery selection are great, and so is their customer service. Really a one of a kind place in Davis. I've been shopping at this market for over a year & have seen more people there in the past month than ever before. The new ownership has significantly turned this place around and it just keeps getting better.

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AS OF ~ 1 MONTH AGO The store is now under Latin ownership and no wonder everything is amazing and the fresh food is phenomenal. Tell me another market that serves FRESH MENUDO in Davis, yeah thought so. Being from Los Angeles, this is the culture I've been looking for in Davis and I'm so glad it's here now. Everyone's super nice, the vibes are poppin with music and the smell of spices and bomb ass food. 10/10, Mexicans make the world better

Okay, so ever since this place went under new ownership and became a more Latin market, it has become the go-to spot for not just Mexican food but for food in general. As a market, it's great; they have a wider variety of Mexican goods than any other store. Prices are whatever; you're paying about the same price as you would anywhere else. What really makes this place shine is their deli and restaurant. The meat from the deli is always fresh, and there is honestly no better spot to get meat for cooking in Davis. The food they serve there is amazing. I have never seen higher-quality food served at such cheap prices. It's a mystery how they're profitable. The meat they use comes straight from their only deli and is fresh. They are extremely generous with portions, so much so that whenever I have brought a friend in, they are surprised by how much food they are getting. The employees are so nice as well; they'll ask you how your food is and even offer to top off your drinks while you're eating. They're eager to show you how good their food is that they'll often ask if you want to sample any of the meats. They're always open to adding any extra toppings onto your plates at no extra cost as well. In this economy, it's incredible how you can get a filling meal with meat and veggies for only $10. Oh, and they take EBT as well.

Decent portions and reasonable prices with a smile!

Thanks Angfhuri Sherpa at Westlake Market for the fresh-made order of veggie korma, samosas, dipping sauce -- and as everyone has been saying the complimentary chai-style Nepali tea is warming and delicious!

I totally enjoyed my first visit here! I'm staying nearby at a buddy's place while I wait to move into the Sol and I decided to give this place a visit after work for a quick bite to eat. I walked around the whole store before walking by the deli. I've never been the type of person to buy a pre-made deli sandwich, but I noticed one of the sandwiches was on clearance for $3.99. I saw that deal and HAD to take advantage of it. I got a Gatorade Zero to go along with it. After eating that sandwich, I would be more than willing to get it again and pay full price. It wasn't super duper fancy but for how simple it was, it was a really decent sandwich. It especially tasted good with a little mayo, which I'm also not usually a huge fan of. I'm glad I was able to try something new and get a kick out of it. I'd definitely want to come back here again.

You'll see the truck around Sacramento and Davis. I tried them out a few weeks ago. I asked the cashier what was their best seller. He mentioned that they are known for their lamb. Well they are called Smokin'Ewe BBQ. So I gave that a try. I have had lamb before but never smoked BBQ. My order came out quickly. All the hot items came out hot and the cold was cold as it should be. The lamb was sliced thin. All so tender, melt in your mouth texture and tenderness. Lamb in general is gamey tasting. This lamb had the typical gamey taste with a deep bbq smokiness. At first bite, my tastebuds were confused. After several bites, they connected to my brain and luvin it. Traditional lamb flavors melded with smoky BBQ goodness. The plate came with potato salad, baked beans, and a bread roll. I also received a container of what looked like sauce that resembled a herb seasoned sour cream. Being LI, I didn't eat it. The potato salad was traditional and served deliciously chilled. Luved it. I forgot to ask if the beans contained HFCS, so I passed on eating it. It looked and smelled good though. They had other menu items besides lamb such as tri tip, brisket, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and hot links served as an entree plate $19 or a sandwich $14. 3 ribs $10. Mac n cheese $8-14. Sides $7. Nachos $8-14. Even the mac cheese was smoked low and slow. Mmm.

Be still my bougie heart and the cookbooks, totes, art prints, artisanal and local cheeses, breads and spreads! They had just moved from a smaller location and this little house front made it all the more charming. My husband laughed and said it was like Mabel's had manifested itself knowing I would be there that day. The owner (Shelley I believe) was so warm and welcoming. She was sweet to my toddler and clearly had experience as a mother/aunt/grandmother to someone because she charmed my daughter who is usually very shy. I walked away with a gorgeous tinned fish print of one of my favorite local artists, and a tote full of tinned fish from brands I enjoy and others I had not tried before. The selection is vast and really offers so much for both experienced and new converts to tinned fish. Mabel's is THE place to come to for your picnicking needs. They also have a decent collection of instant noodles and frozen food as well. Obviously, it's not stocked like your massive Asian superstore like H Mart, but it has all the essentials you need when you need a few things here and there and you're not looking to do a huge grocery haul. I've also picked up some of the prepared foods inside dishes here. The kimbap is all right, not huge portions, but is a good snack size. The tteokbokki is just OK in my opinion.
