Such a cute market! Shelly the owner curates flowers, bread, cheeses, tinned fish and other artisan products. If you want something for a picnic this is the place to go. I picked up some artisan shortbread and they were delicious! At this new location she is working on getting the kitchen set up and serve small bites and more. I really look forward to that!

We stumbled across this very cute market while walking around downtown Davis. It has a variety of food you can buy from jams, dried meats, sardines and drinks. They are opening up a cafe soon too. We were greater when we came in the store and were told if we had any questions she would be happy to answer them. We will definitely return.

    Lots of delicious items.

They've moved - they're now at: 222 D Street. Suite 1Davis, CA 95616. We discovered Mabel's Farm Box via Yelp looking at the fancy charcuterie boards and tinned fish...we made a quick dash to Davis right after work hoping to catch them before they closed. We met the sweetest ladies providing the friendliest customer service and showing us all the speciality items and locally sourced jams and other products we we're excited to get our hands on. The two ladies were working on inventory and a new pos system so I snapped some beautiful pictures of the store and picked up some treasured tinned fished I've enjoyed from Portugal (thanks to my goddaughter who resides there). My boss also picked up some great products and even bought this flower wall stand, that may or may not have been for sale, but was sold to her for a great deal, perfect for her secret garden decor. We can't wait to come back in a couple of months when the kitchen has been completed and try some delicious cheeses and provisions! Thank you MABEL for staying open and letting us window shop. The energy in this beautiful store is so inviting...wishing you endless good luck and continuous growth and prosperity! Support local businesses yelp fam...they are the heart of our community.

    Savory fig jam and bread(*´`*)

This was my third time coming here, and I love it. The items sold here are delicious and beautiful. I have only tried the savory fig jam and bread for a picnic, which was delightful. On top of that, the service here was fantastic. Great, friendly, and welcoming people who make you feel at home while also being well informative. Overall the atmosphere and vibes of this adorable little shop has made my days in Davis. I would definitely share it with a friend :)

    Charcuterie platter

A one stop shop for hosting my book club! I ordered a charcuterie platter as I didn't have time to prepare appetizers. Little did I know I'd have the opportunity to purchase extras at Mable' as well. My table was beautifully adorned with flowers from her shop along side my platter. The cheeses on the platter were amazing and a huge hit! Thank you for the beautiful platter!

Conservas! Tinned fish and seafood from Spain, Portugal, YUM

LOVE their selection of conservas (tinned fish) from the Iberian peninsula - Spain and Portugal. I put together a watercress and arugula salad with red pepper flakes, capers and a lemon-olive oil vinaigrette, put the sardines on top with some bread on the side - heaven.

I had the huge pleasure of walking down E Street and seeing a sign on the side of the street that pointed to "Mabel's Farm Box". I had never heard of this place even though I walk by often, so I was naturally intrigued and went inside. I was warmly greeted by a woman named Shelley. I said hi back and she started conversation by asking me if I was interested in anything there. I said I had never been and asked what they had, and then she asked if I liked cheese and salami to which I replied " I LOVE cheese and salami". She recommended a three-milk soft cheese imported from Italy and a California-local habanero turkey salami. I very much appreciated the recommendations and decided I would pick those up. She first recommended pairing it with a baguette, but then she decided to give me a bag of crostinis on the house! How kind of her! I also decided to get a tasty looking organic sparkling blood orange juice, some locally made lip balm, and a cork screw. While I was there, she also made conversation about they have been around for five month, how they are trying to start a restaurant and are trying to get their beer/wine license and she also invited me to come again soon. I was incredibly pleased by her caring and attentive nature that she greeted me with the second I walked in. I went home and immediately tried out the cheese and salami on the crostinis as well as the juice. The cheese&salami was to die for! I'm not a huge fancy cheese person yet this cheese was so creamy and paired so well with the slight spice of the salami and the toasty crunch of the crostini. I'll be lucky if this lasts me more than a week! The juice was especially good. Very subtle sparkling nature with a nice presence of bold blood orange juice. Very wonderful. I've yet to try to lip balm or cork screw but I'm sure they do not disappoint either. Overall I was incredibly pleased with my first experience with this cute new little shop, and I am looking forward to returning!

The product I wanted wasn't in, so the owner told me she would mail it to me at no cost when it came in.

The boxes they use are definitely big enough for 10" pies, but they currently sell 9" pies (for $30). The pies are excellent, don't get me wrong. But I drive up from southern california and I'd like to take back a bigger pie, even if it's for more money.

Theres sooo much hype about this place so we went to go try!!…read more Its in very rural davis-ish. Its like a plot of dirt then the lil stand. They have their famous pies as well as produce and some other stuff, but its a very small shop with like 4 tables outdoors. Def a stop on your way somewhere, not necessarily a destination. Their pie slices were like $8 a slice and a whole pie was $30. They also had many more options for whole pies vs pie slices, but its possible its because we went later in the day? They had some savory pies, cold pies, but mostly baked pies like peach, various berries, etc! They also have fruit freezes you can purchase too! We ended up sharing a banana cream pie and i got a peach pie too. The banana cream pie was HEFTY. It was HEAVY and PACKEDDDD. A LOT of cream a LOT of banana filling. Very yummy though and feeds a lot more people than you'd think. The peach pie was also very good! Im not a huge "cooked fruit" person and neither is mt family but we demolished the pie. The peaches were a surprisingly nice texture! And the crust was very good. $30 is a bit steep but if theyre using fresh fruits and baking them fresh its worth a stop if youre in the area!

So many tea joints in this town, I didn't give this place a second look. It's been here for 7ish…read moresome odd years and never even considered that it served more than just bubble teas. Place is adorned with symbols, cartoons and slightly odd translations, many of them repeats but amusing to read while dining. We got a couple dumpling dishes and sat down. Service is odd but it works. There are touchscreens and there's also a regular cashier. "eat with love, happy wife happy life" Hope that doesn't offend you. Probably something lost in translation so relax with the sensitivity. Ambiance vibes were minimal because I think it's summer break. If it got much busier (which I'm fairly certain it will) there would be less space to move around, obviously, but I think folks would still pile in. Dumplings were tasty and one came with a dipping sauce. They appeared to have the array of umami sauces (salty-soy, sweet-chili, spicy-cock, bitter-vinegar) along with a shaker of paprika? Don't cry about the dishware. Paper bowls for everyone! I'm sure they had forks somewhere but we never saw them. "Tea won't be drunk, but the person will" HUH? Never tried those "Freshly Made Egg Waffle" things so figured, why not. Got some chocolate guys that look like oversized bubble wrap. Thought it'd be better. Thought maybe there'd be something INSIDE the bubble. Nope. Was just kinda meh. "Sorry we won't able to have discount, but you might able to get the whole store if you hit on the boss" gives off harassment vibes. Hopefully it's just lost in translation. Odd advice kept me reading for the final Yelp-ish words of wisdom: "One meal means eat for the whole day without stopping." But take pictures and write about it.

We usually ask to skip the spam, but everything else in the soup, at least one person in it family will eat. Quail egg, fried tofu, chicken thigh, green leeks, peanuts, sliced beef, thin tofu sheets (and I'm probably missing a few ingredients!) 2. Chicken Cutlet with meat sauce over rice: if we are getting at least two items, this is for sure one of them. Excellent flavor on the peppery batter on the juicy chicken and the meat sauce and pickled veggies are an excellent combination. 3. Zha Jiang Mien: First time trying it. Two of us liked it. May get, again, next time. We usually prefer the blacker Korean style sauce, but this was pretty good, too. 4. Beef roll: think thinly sliced beef with fresh veggies rolled up in an onion pancake. Everyone in the family likes this dish, but we don't always get it (us wanting to try new things). Sad to see you guys leave your Sacramento... come back, PLEASE!
