One of the Best places to buy or pawn musical equipment I have ever dealt with, Not only are they fast, knowledgeable and efficient, but the staff is polite beyond belief without giving you the"I'm doing you the greatest favor in the world looser" attitude of other pawn shops. The interest is reasonable and fair. They also understand the value of a musical instrument beyond what a book, piece of paper or computer program tells them it is worth, in my case I was loaned a higher figure than I was quoted over the phone based on features they were aware of that most other shops may not have considered (that alone on the honesty scale put's them in a class of their own!). The store itself is very clean and well organized, better than most strictly retail establishments (meaning it is exceptional) compared to most other places a musician will usually go to get a cash loan on an instrument. The most difficult part of going here is NOT wanting to fill your wish list as retail prices on everything are all pretty good deals and they have a better than average (dare I say wonderful) selection than most stores and it appears care is taken with items you leave to secure your loan. So in closing, Westminster Jewelry and Loan will not only be first on my list as a pawn shop but as a go to place to buy and search for those items that are hard to find in the secondary market. As other Yelpers have given positive reviews it is apparent why after my experiences with them. Very disappointed. Been a loyal customer with over 11 loans. Clark has horrible service when coming back to pick up rings was told to call the day before. Came in the next morning to pick up then was told to pick up after three pm. This was not discussed on the phone prior to picking up. I live 45 min. one way. Huge inconvenience. They staff does not apologize for not informing correct information. Instead says your the crazy one for not listening. As I am writing review Clark comes to car knocks on window demanding the yellow tickets receipts. Please don't go to Westminster Jewelry and Loan. Learned my lesson. Bringing my jeweler to inspect at pick up Btw they are closed on Thursdays. read more

Ok, I'm not going to lie, I've never been to a Pawn shop before and was feeling pretty nervous about the whole thing. But, I have some jewelry that needs to find a new home. Since I'm not in a huge hurry and I don't have to sell it, I wanted to check out a few options. Javier greeted me as soon as I came in and then just gave me some space to look around. After a few minutes he asked what brought me in today and that was the beginning of a whole lot of fun, He was very professional and explained the process and what he was going to look at, he was extremely thorough in his assessment and fair about what he could do. What I thought was going to be stressful actually ended up being a lot of fun. All of the employees were engaging and lighthearted and giving focused attention to each of the customers. Javier was careful to explain the reasoning behind his offer and actually suggested that I check out a few more places first. Not because he knew he was giving the best quote but because he seemed to really care that I get the most out of my jewelry. So while I am in the process of doing just that, I will definitely be going back with more things to sell and to look at all of the great things (jewelry, guitars, instruments) that they have for sale. I just recently started going to pawn shops and this is the best one I've been to by far! Their prices are very reasonable compared to other shops I've been to. The guys there are great, very nice and patient. It does get hard deciding what to get when they have so many nice jewelry and at good prices. They are always happy to show me anything I want to see and don't seem bothered by it at all. 5 stars all the way for their customer serivice and prices! As soon as I walked in the door I was made to feel very comfortable by the staff, especially Javier and Steve (and of course Angel the Lab). They both were very fair with the transaction and I really appeciated how they explained the process to me from start to finish. The paperwork was quick and easy, too. I was selling some jewelry and taking a loan out on some other jewelry items. They didn''t make me feel embarrassed at all during the process even though this wasn't something I had wanted to do or planned on doing. In the end I walked out feeling confident that I had chosen the right business to help me out during a stressful time. I cannot recommend them enough. They were worth the drive from my home about 30 miles away. Give them a try if you need some extra cash or are in a bind and need help in a pinch. They bought what they could from me and were honest about the things that they could not not buy from me, and I was fine with that.
