This is the second year I'm under contract with Westmore for auto-delivery of heating oil. I left my prior provider, Robison, because Westmore's rates were much more competitive. My review is based on the fact that I am set up for auto delivery with Westmore, and recently, they failed to auto deliver heating oil in time. My thermostat the last cycle was set no differently than usual. While the temperatures some days last month were extremely cold, Westmore should take that into account when determining when customers' tanks need re-filling. Most importantly, in the four years I was under contract with Robison for automatic delivery, they never missed a delivery. To Westmore's credit, once I notified a customer service agent that I was without heat, a technician came two hours later and provided me with 15 gallons of heating oil - enough to get me through until a truck came to fill the tanks the next day. But it wasn't that simple. Because Westmore allowed the tanks to run dry, the technician had to bleed the boiler before it could start up again. All of this occurred at 8:30 pm, I had to let the technician in to service the boiler, show him where the tanks were, etc. Was it the biggest ordeal ever? Obviously, not. But it was still an ordeal, an inconvenience and frustrating given how easily avoidable the situation should have been. When I'm under contract, for which I am paying fees for automatic delivery in the first place, it should never happen at all. Perhaps instead of using an algorithm for calculating heat usage, which obviously was not accurate, they should utilize a Wifi-equipped tank monitor, as Robison would, so that they can be certain when customers' tanks, such as my own, need to be refilled. I called the next day (prompted, in part, by the fact that I received an invoice for the 15 gallons of heating oil that they provided at 8:30 pm, which just seemed to be in bad taste given what had occurred), and I was informed that they have adjusted the algorithm they use to estimate my usage of heating oil. I appreciate the attention they gave, but it's disappointing it happened at all (again, I never had this experience in four years previously with Robison). If I could give zero stars I could. Firstly, I have been a loyal customer of Westmore for 33 years. Secondly, most of their technicians are great - the one I had last week was exceptional. I wish I had written down his name. I have had no heat for 24 hours and counting. This is after my boiler broke last week. It was clogged, needed a new part, and the wonderful technician fixed it within 3 hours. Yesterday, I come home from work to a freezing house. Call Westmore at 5:40 pm - told if I don't hear anything in 2 hours to call again. I call again at 7:40 pm only to be told by a very frustrated dispatcher that there are 60 people without heat and I won't be seeing anyone last night. Further, he said it looks like I am OUT OF OIL! What??? I have a service plan, am on automatic delivery and I'm out of oil. Further insult to injury, the tanker showed up this morning, filled the tank and still no heat. I've now called Westmore 5 times since last night and still no HEAT. I understand it has been incredibly cold - but Westmore, do better for your loyal customers, hire temp people to handle the load, there has to be a better way. Westmore is DISHONEST and doesn't actually care about its clients. Do not use this company. We considered returning to them and asked that they help with a no heat problem. They charged an extra 30 mins ($79.50) and when the error was questioned, replied that it was a "travel fee". Less than 24 hours after our question about the charge, they charged our card without our knowledge or authorization for the entire bill because they suspected we'd dispute. They illegally charged our card a day after they invoiced us. Who does this? Outrageous and unacceptable. Also had to spend a lot of precious time on the phone with the credit card company. Enough said about how DISHONEST this company is. Spare yourselves the wasted time and energy dealing with this extremely petty company. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences with Westmore Fuel. Customer Service, yearly maintenance, pricing contracts, deliveries......not one complaint. Had an issue with our system on Thanksgiving Day which resulted in no heat on one of the coldest days of the year. Within 1 1/2 hrs of my first phone call to Westmore our system was fixed. I highly recommend this company, and I love the Biofuel. Runs so much cleaner. I made the move to Westmore about 5 years ago and I'm very glad I did. read more

I was recommended to Westmore Fuel from my sister who uses them on all 4 of their locations So I decide to call, and I spoke to Tyler the sale agent I was given a contract price, I was told to fill out new account form on their website, signed up that same day, received a call back from Tyler said we are all good to go. No mention that a spread contract had to sign. I called a few days later informing him that I would like to change the Credit card on file. was able to do it. I week goes by for a first delivery was told by Tyler that driver could not get by and requires a path to be clear due to overgrown foliage, which was fine, I took care of it and cleared the path. I was called 4 times from Tyler in a week. regarding the path. Path was cleared and spoke to office and inform them They sent someone filled the tank and left a receipt. when I looked at the Price it was $2.00 more per gal. when I called and spoke to Tyler, I was told I didn't sign up and click on a link. was never told to click on the link when I filled out the application and opted for the service plan. Funny then why would you call multiple times and not say anything Shady sales rep promises you one thing and lies. When questioned was extremely rude and unprofessional. was told " not my responsibility to inform you about signing the contract."... umm Yes, it is, at very least inform people that it has to be sign especially when you call them 4 times in a week and not once mention the contract is different. and inform them hey you didn't sign instead let just send them fuel we have his card on file and charge them the higher rate and see if they notice. Dear Westmore Fuel I have been a customer for several years and I just want to say that every year the service gets better and better. I was a little worried about my last delivery of oil just before the big storm hit. One or two days before the storm my oil was delivered and my peace of mind was restored. Not only are they dependable about deliveries but are always available when I call them to ask a question about anything related to my oil tank, delivery and contracts. The best part about this review is that I don't have to call for a delivery. They always know when to fill my tank so I don't have to call and remind them. WATCH OUT FOR WESTMORE BIOHEAT!!! Folks!! If you see Joanna F's review below, I'm here to second that!!! I'm going through exactly the same thing now!!!!! We are still trying to get hold of the manager since the sales rep was completely useless!! I wish I have read Joanna's review before I went with them back in Sept last year! If you have a contract with them, please double check your contract! If you never signed anything after verbally agreeing to a fixed price term and agreed to have your monthly payments taken out automatically, you better double check how much they are really charging you per gallon!!! It wouldn't be the price you agreed to! Yet they would take out the correct fixed monthly payment led you to believe that they were charging the right price! Plus they would place the service contract in your online account which also led you to believe that you are in good hands!! I finally checked my transactions online the other night after receiving a letter from them saying that they are going to double my monthly payment because of the "unexpected cold winter"! That's when I found out that they were charging me the market price since last Sept, the prices that I never agreed to!! Which was way higher than the $2.349 per gallon that I'd agreed to. The sales rep whom I dealt with back in sept stated that is because I never signed the contract, with that being said then why would this company continue making monthly deliveries and taking my monthly payment! And added the service contract fee to the monthly fee!! I can go on and on forever! I wish I can attach the email exchanges with this rep here for you all to peruse. It's absolutely ridiculous! He'd done nothing trying to resolve the issue other than trying to put everything on me!!! I have demanded them to stop the automatic delivery!! Oh here is the one and most ridiculous line he gave me when I asked why would they start charging me if I never clicked the link to sign the contract, he said because I filled out the online application which triggered the automatic payment and delivery!!!! What kind of BS is that!!! He never called to let me know that there was an email sent to me with the contract link and when I got the letter I found the link in my spam!!!! After spending almost one hour on the phone with him going over the pricing options and he asked me for authorization for the $2.349 options and knowing that's the main reason I decided to go with them, he never bothered to follow up with me after supposedly the link was email to me???!!! To say that I'm frustrated is a complete understatement!! My husband will try to call them again for the 10th time today and see what happens!!! The last automatic delivery that they made without my authorization was 3.88 per gallon!!!! Also when they made the first delivery, they spilled oil all over the street in front of my house, when I called them and asked that the driver need to come back to clean it up, the same sales rep called back and sounded utterly annoyed and said: my driver said they didn't spill anything, do you have a pic?" I'd already left my house then and thank goodness I took a pic, I texted it to him, that's when they came back to clean it up! A huge red flag already!! They don't trust their customers!!! Even at that conversation, which was less than a week after I contacted them, he never asked me how the delivery went and never bothered to tell me that I never signed the "contract" and I got charged a much higher price!!!! Additionally, they scheduled a service tuned up with me! So which contract did I sign up or not sign up??? Apparently it's up to them!!! Sorry I wrote so much!! I woke to a cold house....called Westmore. They had someone here within 30 mins. The technician (Micheal) was professional, friendly, and helpful. I've been using Westmore for a few years now and have never had any problems....only good service. I also like that they offer Biofuel. read more

I've been a client of Westmore oil for over 25 years. I was never on a contract or had them service my furnace. I've only purchased oil, hence I'm not their perfect/preferred client. I would measure my oil and order when needed. I recently had a new born and with the pandemic in place it skipped my mind to check my level and then I ran out of oil. I called Westmore for an emergency delivery. I was told I would only get charge for the visit time. I was also told that the drive time is not billable as well. The tech was at my house in less than 10 minutes. It took him 8 minutes to put 10 gallons of oil into my tank. I then bled my system and started the furnace. Later that week I received a bill for $220 dollars. I felt that was way too much and this was not what I was told. I called and spoke with the manger who would not see things from my side and refused to lower the price. I finally wrote an email to the upper management but that also fell on deaf ears. I would have thought that customer loyalty was worth something but it wasn't to Westmore. I felt cheated, betrayed and let down. read more

My elderly mom lives by herself in Greenwich and has been a Westmore Fuel customer for years. She never needed emergency service until last week's snowstorm hit. She called me in a panic because her house was cold and her heat would not turn on. I called Westmore on her behalf and a technician was quickly sent to her home to fix her burner. He had it up and running in no time. It gives me great piece of mind to know my mom's well taken care of, even during extreme weather conditions. I can't thank Westmore enough! read more

This is by far the least professional company I have ever dealt with! I signed a contract for a specific amount of oil and asked for anything above that amount to be first authorized before delivery. I made this request multiple times throughout the contract period. They delivered above the amount that I asked for without ever getting my approval. I called and complained and was told the manager from sales would call me back. I contacted them after 2 weeks without a return phone call. I was again told nothing was noted on my file about needing pre-approval for deliveries despite multiple requests in the past AND that another delivery had been made earlier that morning (AGAIN without my authorization). when I informed them that I never ordered the delivery and didnt want the oil, they refused to come back and get the oil back, threatened to call collections for non-payment, and yelled and screamed at me like I was a child. They are rude, unprofessional, and do not understand the concept of customer service. I am AGAIN waiting for a call from sales. Definitely not holding my breath. I would NEVER recommend this company even to my worst enemy. There are way too many oil companies to have to deal with such horrible service and rude individuals. read more
