I will never take my Kia Optima Hybrid here for service again. They were rude and did not return phone calls to update me on my vehicle when they had it for over 3 weeks. Thank heavens for Kia warranty and a rental car. The service manager couldn't wait to get you off the phone if you did happen to get him. I was told the problem was taken care of when it reoccurred within 48 hours of having it serviced. The second go round was inexcusable in the customer service department. I was told by my service advisor that I didn't need to call - they would call me with updates. No updates in 2 weeks and no returned phone calls. had to finally call to speak to the general manager to get anyone to even update me. I went to the Gresham Weston Kia this morning. I had gone in the other day to have my air conditioner/heater looked at. They told me there would be a $165.00 diagnosis fee. I left there really discouraged because I couldn't afford a diagnosis fee, but that same day Dan, the Service manager called me. He said that he wanted to give me the diagnosis for free so I was able to go in today to get it diagnosed. They found the issue quickly and had to order parts so I go back in in two weeks to get it fixed, and I so very much appreciate Dan doing that for me, and it gave me a very positive experience. Always slammed with customers. The service advisor doesn't let you know if your diagnostic will be covered by your warranty. So therefore beware, of a uncovered diagnostic charge. I specifically told my service advisor my touchscreen radio doesn't work and so they performed a diagnostic. Weston KIA is beyond the worst car experience I have ever had in my life. I took my car here over a month ago because it was stolen and recovered, so the ignition and radio/back up camera needed to be replaced. During this month I heard nothing back from them on an update on my car, despite leaving messages and emails. My insurance rental coverage then ended, because their policy was to cover a rental for 30 days, and having still heard nothing back from Weston KIA, I had to begin paying for a rental out of pocket. (Over $500 down the drain and out of my own wallet) After a month of no replies, I finally get one short email that they were still waiting on parts, with no list of the parts or any estimate of completion. (So it takes them over a month to get parts...ok, sus and very much want to see the receipts of these and when they were in fact ordered) After waiting one more week and again, paying for a rental out of pocket, I simply couldn't afford to wait any longer- I finally got absolutely fed up at not receiving any ETAs for when my car would actually be complete so I had a friend drive me to talk to someone in person to get actual answers and check on the status of my vehicle. All of a sudden all the parts that they were waiting for for "so long" had miraculously arrived just a couple of days ago and my car would be done in two days. (Also very suspicious my car was still in the exact same parking spot it had been when I left it there over a month ago, almost as if it hadn't been moved at all during all this time) It wasn't. Instead, I was finally called back and told that my car would be done the next day at 4pm- they ensured me this would be true. AGAIN- IT WASN'T. As of right now my KIA has been at the Weston KIA dealership for a month and two weeks. The repairs were a new ignition and radio/backup cam- and it took them OVER A MONTH to get parts. Supposedly. I cannot even explain to you how shady this place is. Don't go here, literally just save yourself the heartache of being completely lied to and ignored. I'll start by saying that the initial process was pretty smooth and no pressure. Which was nice. 1 star because they ran my credit without my permission (i brought my own financing and specifically did not sign their credit documents and told them i did not want my credit ran). Then when i made an issue of it because it's technically fraud on thier end, Ben gave me a lip service about an oil change a full tank of gas for my trouble. Later down the process after everything was signed i found out that comes standard. If they had not ran my credit without my permission this would have been 5 stars. If Ben hadn't given me a lip service and they ran the credit it would have been 3 stars. Ultimately i left there feeling used and dirty. I cannot speak highly enough about Weston Kia. I bought a 2014 Optima from Jacob Weston in late May. Weston Kia didn't have exactly what I wanted in their inventory, and Jacob did a great job of getting me the exact car that I wanted. He also beat the all other dealers' offers by a pretty considerable amount. Through the entire process, there was absolutely zero pressure to purchase, and it was abundantly obvious that Jacob was truly only interested in making sure that I had an excellent purchasing experience, and that I got exactly the car I wanted, even if I didn't purchase from Weston Kia. Jacob also personally delivered my Optima to my house. "Personal", "Family", and "Excellent" are the only words I can use to describe my experience at Weston Kia. They treated me like family from the very start. I've never had this experience from any dealership in my entire life. This experience it not isolated to the sales department, the finance area and service areas are equally excellent. This was the time I've purchased a car where all of the typical "upsells" in the finance department such as paint protection, etc. were all missing from the sales contract. At all other places, I've had to argue ad nauseum to get these removed because they're most often pure profit for the dealer, and little to no value for the purchaser. The finance representative said he'd be happy to explain the options and pricing of any of them if I was interested, and that was that. The entire finance process took approximately 15 minutes, and I owned a brand new car. I couldn't believe how quickly it took. Weston Kia's service department is also world-class. The service bays are so clean you could eat off of the floors, and the service writers and technicians are at the top of their game. Chris, the service writer who always takes care of me, always greets me by name as soon as he sees me. My Optima needed a new steering wheel switch that was broken, and later, believe it or not, a body floor wiring harness due to a missing wire from the factory. The only other visit was for my first oil change. While the factory defects were annoying, getting them fixed was actually a pleasure because of the hospitality of the service department. Weston Kia has a customer for life. It is a great feeling having complete peace of mind in purchasing a vehicle, and knowing that any service needs will be dealt with in the most professional manner available anywhere. read more

My Kia has engine problems, 2 years ago two of my fuel injectors were stuck open dumping raw fuel into my turbo causing the inside to combust costing me thousands of dollars to repair, and after that incident the engine is knocking because of oil consumption issues, and they want another thirteen thousand plus for a new engine. I've given Kia the history report on what happened and they seem not to care. So right now I'm doing some research on a class action lawsuit to compensate some of my money, and I will never by another Kia as long as I live. If you want a car buy a Toyota or a Honda. So my husband and I came here a couple weeks ago and I will say the salesman we talked to was very helpful and fun to be around. He was knowledgeable about the vehicles and though obviously brand new, we would have bought a car from him (his name is Nic). HOWEVER, the manager at this location is absolutely atrocious. First of all, he asked if he could take his mask off, inside, when there was absolutely no plastic barrier between his face and ours. My husband is a medical professional and was flabbergasted. We said "no" and he looked surprised, but thankfully kept his mask on even though he kept touching it, which again, during a pandemic is ridiclous. Secondly, I work in finance, I was going to be the primary driver, and both myself and my husband told the manager MORE THAN ONE TIME that I was the person who he needed to speak to about terms of the loan, pricing and negotiation. Even after the third time my husband literally said "don't talk to me, talk to her," the manager wouldn't even make eye contact with me and continued to direct his questions to my husband. WHAT THE HELL. It felt incredibly misogynistic and we decided to never return. My husband was really upset as we left, he said "I can't believe that guy, I wanted to call him out but wasn't sure if I should make a scene." Additonally, he didn't seem knowedgeable about the financing options, and even when I clearly said "I do not want to lease the vehicle, it is either a zero APR loan or we pay cash" and he kept trying to get us to lease. Maybe it's because I'm a woman and he didn't think he should listen to me, he actually argued with me about it. Explaining to me (again, I am a senior financial analyst and partner at my firm) how leases work and why it shouldn't be a problem....explaining finances to me after I told him I didn't want it. It felt condescending and rude. The next weekend we went to the Beaverton Kia and bought our new Niro. We had literally none of the same problems there and were able to get our new vehicle without any problems. When I called Weston and spoke with Shaun, he heard I wasn't in a rush and suggested ordering it. I didn't know that was an option, as the other 2 dealerships never suggested that. I liked the idea, so it would be 3-5 months. Not a problem. But within 2 weeks my car was delivered, when I went in to pick it up ,it was in the showroom with a bow on it. I bought my Kia in 2017 at Kia of Portland, and switched to Weston Kia for service after Kia of Portland closed. (This review is thus purely for the service department; I have no opinion about the sales side.) I bought the first model year (2017) of the PHEV Optima, and the car has had a few troubles. Not surprising in a first model year, but what was pleasantly surprising is how well Weston Kia handled the problems. First, my AC unit broke. They took a look, assured me it would be covered by warranty, and ordered the part. It took a while to come from the manufacturer (not their fault!), and then when it arrived, the mechanic installing it noticed the new unit was damaged. He refused to install it because he knew it wouldn't work out well to have a damaged unit installed. While it required me to wait for the part again and come back, just amazing that they took the care to inspect what appeared to be a new unit to see the damage. About six months later, I had a ton of problems that included leaking oil, strange noises when it switched to HEV mode, and horrible grinding sounds. It apparently required replacing the alternator and a number of other engine parts. Again, Weston Kia Service made sure that it was all covered by warranty, and worked out billing a rental car to the warranty so they could take their time, order the correct parts, and take care with the installation. That was about four months ago now, and the car is running smooth and solid now. The icing on this cake? Well, the various problems had the car leaking oil everywhere, and I was sure they'd have to at least charge me for the replacement oil since that's not covered by warranty. However, they decided just to *comp* me the oil since I had to wait so long for all the repairs. On top of that: the agent even WALKED ME to my car since it was parked far out in the lot as they had an unusual number of cars and she didn't want me to have to wander around the lot looking for my vehicle. I've owned cars and moved around a lot so I've interacted with a lot of dealer service departments. *NEVER* in my life have I seen a service department go the extra mile (haha, pun intended) in all these various ways. Their communication was excellent and clear and apologetic and they gave me all the details about why they were waiting and why there were delays. If you own a Kia in the Portland metro area, this is where you want to go. They are better than Kia of Portland was, and I admit I did try a few other Kia dealerships around the metro area before I settled on Weston, and while the issues at the others don't warrant a negative review there, Weston Kia is by far the best. Finally, I just noticed there is another review on this site from Nicole P. noting about stolen items from their car. Nicole notes in her follow up that Weston made amends on her situation, but I wanted to add that my visit to Weston was somewhat contemporaneous to hers, and I suspect it was right after, because my service agent checked with me multiple times asking that I had gotten any items from the car that I might need, including mentioning simple things like phone chargers and the like. My thinking is anyone can have an employee who steals (I've worked myself at otherwise good places where a rogue employee has done so), but in retrospect after reading Nicole's review, I see that around that time the staff was taking care to subtly let customers know that they needed to take care and remove their belongings from the vehicle. read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. I had an HORRIBLE experience with this place , TWICE. My car I recently bought in June. Was set for an appointment to fix a few things that was owed to me and that I noticed. After a week of being there nothing was fixed. I called back the next day after pick up explaining that my vehicle was not fixed. My advisor Jade let me know she was sorry and I was very understandable being that things can be missed .... How was everything missed I'm not sure but I was still understanding.... Jade set me and appointment to take care of these things. I go to the appointment and Jade was out for being sick once again understandable, it's life. My understanding was loss when no one could find my appointment or any info on what was happening to it for the appointment... at this point I'm confused because what did they do last time, and how is everyone not on the same page. They convinced me to leave my car and they would take care of it... and I should hear a call back from Jade the next day and take a loaner. So a couple days go by and I hadn't heard anything so I proceeded to go to the establishment.... When I arrived I was met by an associate by the name of GARY (a service department advisor). He and Daniel (The Operations Manager) were beyond rude and dismissive . I was cursed, threatened, and taunted by Gary for no apparent reason other than my skin color... I simply asked for his assistance (as he was standing behind a desk in the service department) and he got very disrespectful by saying "everyone is on fucking lunch and I need to contact whoever the hell my advisor is." I continued to ask for upper management and Gary mentioned he would not be reprimanded for his actions he proceeded to send me to Daniels office.... As I explained to Daniel what has happened he completely disregards the situation with Daniel and all of the miscommunication about my car. He calls someone and they knew nothing about the car.... So me hearing that I immediately ask why do the mechanic not know about the car. Daniel screams he has no "fucking idea and I should calm down so he could help me out ..... at this point I'm beyond pissed... as of now I still don't have my car.. My experience with this dealership is nothing less than remarkable. I purchased a used 2015 Kia SORENTO a couple of years ago from Weston. At the time I purchased an extended warranty. Recently the engine had some significant issues and needed to be replaced. The warranty ran out in March 2023 so I didn't think the repair would be covered. But the mileage mark was still under the limited amount. Weston Kia went to bat for me with the warranty company and got the $14,300 repair totally covered. This may be the least convenient car dealership for me to get to, but I have leased three Kia Souls from them. Yes, their selection of Kias is strong. But the reason I first leased here and the reason I've twice returned is a single person: Denny Joseph. Frankly, neither auto brands nor their dealerships actually care who they sell to - they are driven by moving inventory with as many add-ons as possible. Weston Kia is no different. So, there is a bit of unneeded rigmarole - extra roadside assistance? social media tie-ins? Check and check. It's the kind of top-down stupid that unfortunately dictates most car-buying experiences. Weston benefits from two things. One: I really like the Kia Soul. It has the maneuverability and small footprint that I look for as a city dweller. It also has the storage and handling that I need for my frequent trips into the mountains. On top of that, it is a very low price point model with exceptional upgrade passages. Add the standard safety features and warranties and you have a great vehicle. Two: I choose to work with Denny Joseph. He listens well, is transparent throughout the sales process and does a great job of connecting me with a car that I am excited about. Equally important, in working with Denny I leave the lot feeling like I got a fair deal. He is somebody whom I trust and as long as he is at Weston Kia, I will continue to make the miserable trek to their lot every three years. read more

We discussed our needs and made arrangements to meet with him at Weston to go over models and options. He was very informative and helped us make a selection that would meet our needs and budget. After we chose the exact car we wanted, Justin Hamsley joined in with the various financing options, warranty choices and other business considerations. We fell that we were given plenty of options throughout the car buying process without any hard selling. Diego and Justin excel providing a positive and friendly car buying experience. We went through websites like USAA and Costco and since we often go to Portland, we searched the both Seattle and Portland and all dealerships in between. Weston Kia not only offered us the car we wanted, but at $1000 less than anywhere in Seattle. We had heard of horror stories with going in to dealerships to sign the paperwork and how it can take 3 to 4 hours. Silvere was super kind, understand, and did not show signs of annoyance. I had no credit at the time honda, toyota, & mazda turned me away even though I had 5k in hand CASH :( I tried kia as a last final option that day after being denied 3 times elsewhere. Next thing you know the finance team helped me incredibly. I had a pre-owned kia with all the bells and whistles one could wish for. I wound up that day leaving with 3 cars.
