My rating is based on my total experience and how it was resolved and not just the procedure itself so it requires some explanation.  My wife always had major 30,000 mile inspections done by Integrity Auto over the years and was always very happy with their work. Her still mint 2003 Toyota Camry was now going to be passed on to my daughter in eastern Iowa but we wanted to have a full strut assembly replacement done on it just before my 2000 mile drive back in mid October. Apparently there was a misunderstanding and only a simple strut replacement was done with KYB Struts. I picked the car up late on a Friday and had to start my trip the next day. For some reason, the ride did not feel right but I had no choice but to do the trip and try to deal with any problem upon my arrival in Iowa. After consulting with McGrath Toyota and Dave and Pat Seydel's Truck and Auto in Iowa City it became apparent that only simple struts had been installed and that there probably was a problem with the rear struts as there was no give at all when depressing the rear of the car. I had already spent over $1700 for the strut replacement and now had to take a chance by spending another $1200+ to replace the rear KYB struts with new, all-in-one strut assemblies from another company.  I made the decision to take a chance and go ahead with this procedure and fortunately it restored the ride to what we had expected it would be. Now I had to hope that I would be made somewhat whole by Integrity Auto on these rear struts!  As I was flying home I paid $45 to ship the struts as my 2nd. bag and they just made the weight limit.  Upon arriving home I wrote a "just the facts mam" explanation of the situation and emailed it to Duke Bishop who is the owner of Integrity Auto.  He promptly responded and after a very friendly conversation he offered to write us a check which pretty much covered our out of pocket expenses even though his shop hadn't had the opportunity to examine their work and to personally correct the problem. Obviously this was a very stressful situation for everyone involved but it had been presented in a very civil manner and it was handled by Duke and his company in a way that was befitting of their name - Integrity Auto. Thanks again Duke for being both understanding and professional in how this was resolved!  And by the way, I would be remiss in not mentioning that I was given a loaner car for the day the Camry was in for service at Integrity Auto and all I had to pay was for the gas I used so that was an unexpected bonus that was greatly appreciated. read more

I was very disappointed and felt like I had been scammed after my visit to Integrity Auto. Brought my Lexus in to get a check engine light diagnosed. after a $220 diagnostic fee they told me it would be a $3100 fix. They did not explain why it would be so expensive or give any in depth explanation that one would expect with such a hefty quote. It felt off so I took my car into the dealership to get a second opinion and it turned out I only needed to replace my battery. They didn't even do a battery test at Integrity Auto. I bought a 07 Subaru Forester at auction, had a check engine light on but it ran perfectly with no knocks or anything. So I put it on my obd2 code reader n it said evap system leak. So I bought a gas cap. It was cheap like $12 and a common issue for a check engine light. That took care of that code but it had started shaking n kinda sputtering at idle n the check engine light was now flashing, so I plugged it into the obd2 reader again, n now it was throwing a misfire in cylinder 1 code. Well that's a little over my pay grade so I get online n shop for Subaru mechanic. Integrity pops up, it's close n decently rated, so I take it there. Told them the issue. N left it there. They call me the next day , valve cover gasket leaking so bad it fouled out the spark plug n wire to cylinder 1. Recommended replace both valve cover gasket's and plugs n wires. $745 all in.. a little more than I had but go ahead n I'll figure it out. Not a bad deal I'm just broke. N I'm thinking hey they advertise 3yr/36k mile warranty on their parts n labor. So I was reassured. I dropped car off on Monday n Friday they call me n tell me it's all ready to roll. (They asked n confirmed if keeping till Friday would be ok or if I needed it back right away. Im disabled so I don't work, cause I can't really walk, so I mainly just drive my kids around n go to dr appointments so wasn't in a hurry) Everything is great so far, I go pick up the car n it runs fabulously! No check engine light , gas power n it's just a great little car. Im happy. Wrote a stellar 5 star review on Google n everything. A few days later I got to thinking about it leaking oil bad enough to foul out a spark plug n figure I better check my oil. That's when I notice one of the valve cover bolts sticking out like 1/4" I'm like what? So I reach in n try to spin it with my fingers. Loose, I finger tighten it , n think wtf? So I check the other bolts I can reach. All the top bolts on the drivers side were finger loose, and the actual valve cover had backed away on the opposite side of that bolt sticking out a little bit. So the bolt close to the cabin was sticking out 1/4 and the other side of that the valve cover was sticking out like 1/8" the middle bolt was just loose. Now I almost just got a socket n tightens them. But what if all the bolts were loose? N me being disabled my hips are so messed up I can't crawl around a car anymore. So I take it back. N they of course had me sit in the waiting room while they checked it out. They had me out of there within 20 minutes. But did they have time to check all bolts on both sides? And aren't valve cover bolts supposed to be torqued to spec? N a pattern followed? Like when bolting on a wheel? Idk, car still runs great but I just am disappointed cause I wanted to like them so I could have one mechanic to take all the family's cars too when needed. Cause I can't do that stuff anymore. It is with great disappointment that I am writing this review tonight. I had hoped that this shop would be able to service my Honda, Mazda, and a Toyota truck in our family. I'm going to post receipts, because I want to show how this went down. The shop detailed their work and their opinion of what happened. However, it's not quite what they are saying. Look at all reviews. I contacted Integrity Auto after my car had been worked in June of 2022 by Thor's Auto's Service. Thor did the mounts and the oil pan. Afterwards, I noticed a little dripping days after coming home. Before Thor, there was only oil on the pan, and no dripping. After Thor's, it took 10 months for 1/2 cup of oil to drip onto the pan beneath it. Super slow leak, and the car drove perfectly. Thor told me it was the rear seal and 50/50 gamble to fix, but Integrity said it was a "glued on" pan that didn't seal. Thor only refunded labor, and Integrity quoted $548.54, which Thor heavily critiqued as "price-gouging." I knew prices were higher, partially due to the excess RTV, and they admittedly charge more than dealership/won't let you buy parts even if OEM. I asked. This wouldn't have mattered if it had worked. Integrity indicated that it had been 6 months since they evaluated, but I drove very little, only 400 from the time I left Thor's in June of 2022. I have been at home mostly. Also, they listed that I have a 2002 Honda Accord. I don't. 1999. I took the car in May 27 and picked up May 28, letting them know there was no hurry and "take your time." They called and said they needed to use a new pan, because the other didn't fit. Another $85, so $592 now. Upon pickup, I was nervous and told I could come back if a leak presented itself from another area. I was taken aback. What happened to the dye leak test discussed on the phone? You diagnose before you work. After my car was driven home, it was smoking and leaking greater than 1/2 cup on stopping. They failed to seal the gasket, and with the use of RTV and a gasket, it's my position that the gasket blew. A test drive on the road should have shown this. This car doesn't use an actual gasket but only RTV. If RTV is used in combo, you only use it on the stepped areas/corners. Otherwise, one creates a seal with the minimal use of RTV, bolts assembled from center to the outside. After an uncomfortable conversation, they sent a tow truck out the next day. They failed to seal the gasket the second time and said they'd need to open the engine. They made the issue worse, gave a questionable diagnosis, and wanted to tear open the engine! One last thing. I can show how much leaking occurred upon coming home that day, and today, we took more. The leak slowed some compared to the day before, but it's still worse than it was. Also, the leak is not in the same area. When I took it in, the leak was actually in a different area, but it traveled down the bell housing. Now it's spewing out closer to that housing. I will try to put video up here so people can see for themselves. PM me if you don't see that and want to. I'm tired. I have a recorded call. It is rude, condescending, and sexist. The only thing I can say is that Bob refunded my money after I made my feelings known. I'm tired of this type of experience, because they aren't the first nor will they be the last, sadly. The bar is very low in this field. A warranty is only worth it if the company is good. Not this shop! Waste of a week, the best weather of the year, and it caused massive stress and illness. Go elsewhere, but I don't now where to tell you to go. I have one name and a possibility. Text me for details. I wish my mechanic, of 7 years, hadn't relapsed. I hadn't known. I was told my Toyota van needed an $1100 part. A sliding door lock assembly. Online the part costs about 500 new. When I chose not to move forward I was charged a $410 diagnostic fee. They were unwilling to negotiate this even though it had not been mentioned before. They were nice and explained that their work had a three-year guarantee. They also kindly gave me the part number when asked. However I wish the diagnostic fee had been mentioned before and the markup on the part seems excessive to me. read more

Jake at Integrity Auto was so pro and helpful. My grandson and I bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla last month. It is a manual transmission and we had to really press down the clutch hard. It was fussy and revved to high going from dead stop to first. The fellas at IA said to bring it in for spin to give their feedback to me. I was dreading it might need an expensive clutch job. At first blush, I thought the name meant nothing. The guy at the front desk was friendly and lacked blue fingernails. Do they even do work here? I came to find out that the condition of the shop seemed to match the name of the way they took care of us. I brought in my '87 4runner after taking it to several shops regarding an electrical issue. I'd spent about $1600 (and a weekend trying to debug it myself) tracking down the issue and paying these other shops for no real results. The truck still died overnight, the rear window worked intermittently, the brand new radiator was leaking, etc. These guys charged me less than half that, and even fixed some other odds and ends as well. They gave me an inspection, told me exactly what circuit the drain was in, found what was causing the issue with the rear window, and gave fairly detailed explanations of further work that could be done. In my opinion, these guys are super affordable, honest, and quick. It's hard to find that in a mechanic these days. read more

Came in with my 2000 Lexus RX300 with a steering wheel shake issue and a check engine light. Integrity Auto gave me a free multi-point inspection, and immediately found the problem with my car. Pricing was very fair, and I didn't feel pressured to get service done at any point. Waiting room was very comfortable and they even offered me a loaner car, but I didn't mind the wait. I stumbled across Integrity Auto via the Portland subreddit. Now that I've found them, I can't imagine taking my 18 year old Camry anywhere else. I worked with Bob to fix my auto issues and I was also given a free multi-point inspection. I never felt as if I was being pressured into any services and was treated with a refreshing genuineness and respect I don't always feel at auto repair shops/dealerships. This guys don't know how to run diagnostics so they just swap parts, therefore you'll end up paying more on labor than what you'll pay at a dealership or any other shop. A job which dealership quoted for $1400, I ended up paying $2k here, because there labor hours were cheaper. Never going back, and the same review will go on google, car fax and social media. ** Duke- responding to your response. I have collected the old tank. We did smoke and pressure test, rust isn't where it was leaking. Rust is located on the top and the tank stopped leaking when it became 1/4 empty... which points to the filler hose. ;D If diagnosed properly, it was a $700 job which I ended up paying $2k. read more

If your Toyota is giving you fits, this is the place to take it . Duke and his crew are amazing We bought a used 2006 Matrix and soon after it began to jerk and die for no reason we could see. We took it to the dealership on 122nd (right across the street from Integrity Auto) and there it languished for 4 WEEKS! First they thought it was the computer, replaced it, and no. Then something else, then something new. And still the problem persisted. The techs were stumped and told us finally they couldn't help us. So we took the car across the street and handed her over to Duke and his guys. Want to know how long it took them to diagnose and fix the issue. 2 HOURS! We had a broken fuel line clamp. The part was only $1. They made our day, our week, hell our month, with that news. Mostly, we were just glad to know we didn't buy a completely unfix-able car. (Original review from 4/3 - damn those duplicate accounts!) Yesterday was the perfect example of why I do business with Duke & Ryan. I had an oil change back in February. A few weeks after the oil change, and after the car had been parked for a few days at the airport, I noticed a hesitation/hiccup on the drive home. I was worried that it was the transmission or something serious, but a quick chat with Ryan had me changing the spark plugs and plug wires. Problem solved. [On occasion I feel the need to prove my manliness, hence the reason I changed my own plugs. I try not to make a habit of this!] A few days later my wife pointed out a nice oil sheen on the driveway under the spot where my 4Runner is normally parked. A quick peek under the belly confirms that there's oil all over the underside of the engine and under the skid plate. While I was perfectly willing to swap the plugs, I had no desire to pull the skid plate and deal with an oily mess, so I called Duke. He squeezed me in first thing the next morning and discovered a leaking oil filter, the same filter that they changed back in February. His guys made it all good and I was on my way in an hour or so. I would have gladly paid for his hard costs but he didn't charge me for anything. Where do you think I'll take my car the next time it needs service? Where do you think I'd recommend anyone with a Toyota product go for service? Why do you think I'll shop for a used Toyota after my 4Runner goes to Toyota heaven? Oh, and if you want the true test of a businesses integrity, eavesdrop on how they treat other customers. While I was waiting for my truck, I overheard a conversation between Duke and a young lady who had been to a dealership and was questioning the exorbitant price they quoted her for a water pump swap. Duke asked the right questions and then sent her to a "warranty-claim friendly dealer" since she had a lower mileage car and the water pump should still be under warranty. Instead of taking her money he did the right thing and tried to save her money. BTW, if you take your vehicle to Oil Can Henry's or JiffyLube for an oil change you should re-think you choice. While Integrity might be a few dollars more, their experienced eye and business ethics more than make up for the couple of dollars you saved. Exceptional Service!! The guys here are so informative and gracious. I took my Lexus in to get my oil, spark plugs and brakes changed out and they did a stellar job. Usually when I pay for car work, I never really notice a difference with the car. When I drove my car off the lot at Integrity, I felt like the car was actually driving (and obviously braking) better than when I dropped it off. I wasn't able to pick up the car for a week after the repairs were finished, the NEXT business day, because my work schedule was insane, and they never hassled me about it staying there. Here's how Integrity Auto saved me $1000. I've owned a 2003 Tacoma for 14 years, and visited a variety of shops. Most recently, during a routine checkup on a oil change deal, a dealer's mechanic said my power steering system was leaking badly and needed to be replaced, cost estimate $1000. I was shocked, and declined. Instead I checked fluid levels for six months- - no change. The dealer's warning still nagged me, so I finally went for a 2nd opinion from Integrity, as part of their complimentary inspection. I'd had routine maintenance done there, and I trust them. Duke had the truck on the rack when he showed me the reason the fluid level had not changed. He said there was minor seepage. He pointed out the oil filter directly above the "leaking" steering part. This is oil, he said, "It looks like someone dripped oil on the steering rack during a filter change." I thanked him for saving me $1000 for unnecessary repair, and for giving me piece of mind. Let me add my voice to the positive reviews. I took my new-to-me vehicle in for a pre-purchase inspection. Setting up the appointment was easy and they scheduled me for next day. They did exactly what they said they would and had the vehicle ready when they said it would be. They did a good job on the inspection and in fact found an item that the dealer had missed (rusting on the underside...I will be having words.) Also really nice people, genuine, down-to-earth, easy to deal with. As Emily G. said, the words 'integrity' and 'auto shop' never belonged in the same sentence in my past experiences with other shops, but Duke and his team are truly the best in their field on all counts. I only wish that Integrity worked on Honda and Nissan vehicles as well as Toyotas, so we could bring all of our vehicles to them! But I understand that when you spread yourself too thin, you lose quality and focus. I discovered Integrity Auto back in 2004 after reading glowing reviews from folks on a Yahoo Groups Previa forum. I love my 1996 Previa van, and since the model is no longer made by Toyota, I'd like to keep mine going for as long as possible. When my car broke down last week, I was stressed out and eager to get it repaired quickly. I started calling shops in my neighborhood, but they either didn't answer the phone or didn't have any availability. One of the shops that turned me away suggested that I call Integrity, so I did. Integrity was able to take my car the same day I called and I had it back within 24 hours. Their communication was pleasant and professional from beginning to end. I interacted mostly with Bob, who was friendly, provided thorough information, and called to give an update when he said he would. My car even ended up being ready *ahead of schedule* which was a nice surprise. My in-person interaction with Bob was also pleasant. These guys really saved me when I was in a pinch. When I first got my 1997 Camry it needed a ton of work. I took it to the dealer and they quoted me an astronomical amount $9,000 - way more than the car was worth. A friend recommended Integrity and they found the same things wrong with it as the dealer but they told me which things had to be done and which could wait. They had me back on the road for $800. Since then I won't take it any other place. They have loaner cars and they really do have integrity. Duke is one of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. If I ever get a new car I'll get a Toyota so I can keep coming back here. But I won't need one for awhile because they keep mine going! read more

Found Integrity Auto just after my mom had been given the run around at the Toyota dealership and another local mechanic about an issue with her 2013 Corolla not passing the DEQ,. The dealership and the other mechanic were not much help . After multiple trips to each. We got no solutions and charged for their time, then we found Integrity Auto. Duke and the other employees knew immediately how to fix the problem, they had it done very quickly and she passed DEQ on our way home! We are so grateful for these guys. The name truly says it all. Duke and his team are thoughtful and thorough and their services are very reasonably priced. On the strength of their Yelp reviews, I brought in my project car which had significant issues requiring a lot of trust. At another shop, this would have been an unmitigated disaster. An odd model of vehicle to begin with, custom racing parts and obsolescent air conditioning components, parts that aren't made anymore, rust, an engine removal, so many variables it was just begging for an unsavory result. It wasn't an easy project, requiring coordination with two other shops and several parts suppliers over the holidays. True to the Kipling poem on his wall Duke and his team handled it all with aplomb, keeping me updated throughout and having a real conversation--something I've never experienced with doctors or auto mechanics before. My faith was amply rewarded. My vehicle was at least twice as strong a performer after Integrity completed their work and the smile has not left my face since. If you're looking for a professional relationship--for someone who will take care of you and has a genuine concern for your complete satisfaction--this is definitely the place. I cannot day enough good things about the amazing folks at Integrity auto. Today, my 2009 Lexus LX570's alternator up and died - I was stranded - true 2020 style - with my son, the dog and the groceries. Bob has taken care of me like his daughter and came and picked up the whole crew in the loaner and took us back to the shop and got us squared away with the loaner until my car could be towed there and they could fix it. They have taken such good care of my family and I since we moved to Portland 4 years ago. I first took my 12 year old RAV4 there because they were on my way to work, and I liked the name of their company, but was cautiously skeptical initially as well. They truly live up to their name. They are the ones who inspected the rebuilt Lexus when I had to have it a couple years ago and I like that they are so straight-forward about the condition of your vehicle and the risks and bonuses of it and they really try to get to know their customers and what they are putting their vehicles through. They are now caring for my husband's truck and I won't take our vehicles anywhere else. They do great work, fast, and at a reasonable price without sacrificing quality and they are so kind and funny that it makes taking your vehicle in a true joy. Came in for a pre purchase inspection for an older used car and they could have easily shined any potential issues in favor of our potential business later on when the car broke down, as all cars eventually do. Instead they took the high road, gave us the good bad and ugly about our potential car and what to be aware of should we buy and what repairs needed to be done soon. I had no idea who to go to so I checked out 4 different places. Everyone had their own idea of what was going on and I had estimates as high as 1800 with no guarantee. Well when i met Duke I wasn't happy about paying to diagnose it but I did because he sounded like he was the most sure of what was happening. I'm not from around here and finding a new "my car place" is always kinda scary because you don't know what to expect and you don't want to get ripped off. I have a used 2004 Scion XB (essentially a Toyota) that came with a million miles on it, it's no spring chicken, as they say. Duke and Ryan of Integrity Auto are awesome. I've been going to them for almost 3 years now. The last time I brought my car in, I swear it was driving better than the day a bought it! I've always been able to get my car in the same week and they're always a better deal than going to the dealership. Creature comforts while you're waiting: - Free sodas and coffees from the Burgerville across the way - Every Lands End and Calvin and Hobbes ever (yes, I am a child of the 90's) - The most comfy and squishy couch that you don't want to get out of (Seriously, I'll be all up in the couch, sipping my soda and in the middle of a Lands End and be like, "Oh, my cars ready already??") - A sweet FREE loaner (she's old, but she's swell!) - Complimentary yearly vehicle inspection (that I just scheduled, which is what put me over the edge on deciding to write this review! I went in when my car was on the fritz and they helped me all along the way. Lexus told me I needed $3,500 in repairs. Integrity, true to their name, told me my car had no damage. Integrity fixed my alignment for $150 and sent me on my way. I even returned to the dealer so they could "show me" the damage, they put my car up and I could see almost nothing (a tiny bit of chipped metal). I've had Integrity Auto service my 1994 T-100 and was very pleased with the results. Specifically, it needed a valve adjustment and timing belt change. I was looking for a perfectionist as a mechanic that used OEM Toyota parts and that is precisely what Duke and Integrity Auto are about. Integrity Auto won't be the cheapest solution (OEM Toyota parts aren't the least expensive and neither are good mechanics), but that's not what I'm looking for. Their work holds up very well--immediately after receiving my vehicle, I proceeded to put 5000 miles on it in the next 3 weeks without any issue. Another thing I like about Integrity Auto is that their realistic about repair costs and worked with me when certain repairs didn't make sense--for example, Toyota wants ~$800 for an original '94 T-100 power steering pressure line. I opted to just fill my power steering every month or so rather than fix something that isn't too much of an issue. They looked into aftermarket at my request, which I appreciated, and did come up with an alternate proposal. I would recommend this business to my family and friends. read more

My trailhead truck, a 10 year old Tacoma access cab, just came home from spending the day at Integrity. Thanks to Integrity, I know she's in great shape and good to go for many more miles. I came in with a list: determine if ticking and squeaky chirping sounds are fatal, show her some care she's been neglected besides oils and fluid checks, when do you need to change the spark plugs, and oh, do you do window repairs. We left with new spark plugs, fresh fluids, a new rear window. They had all the answers to my "I don't speak car repair questions" and gave friendly nudge about benefits of detailing and dent repair.
