Custom framing is expensive, but at Westside Art Center the prices are as reasonable as possible. If you need to drive a bit out of your way to get here, it's worth it - their rent savings are your framing savings. They give you options within your price range and don't make you feel badly if you can't afford the options in the higher price range. Because I got my print as a gift, that gave me a larger budget for framing, and I was able to go for the higher range - which included matting as well as a glossy frame - for about $200 including tax. If I had opted for a straight framing job with a standard frame, it could have cost as little as $90, which is very reasonable for a custom frame on a non standard size larger print (20 x 28). Monty helped me to select the size of the mat and frame, and it looks great! He said that they were a bit backed up and it would take two weeks, but it ended up only taking about 4 days! Places in West Hollywood would have charged $100 - $200 more for the same job, and that would be after some negotiation (which I hate having to do), and it would have taken weeks longer. A very stress free process that has left me very satisfied! Tip: If you are coming from a distance, be sure to check out the Three Weavers brewery just next door - they have some great IPA's! read more

This review is long overdue... I must admit, I'm a hard critic and I usually write scathing reviews more often than commending someone for good work. Monty and his wife are such great frame artists and they always do such a great job on every single picture that I've ever taken to them! I love bargains and quality and often times those two don't go hand - in - hand... But not this place! Stupid Aaron's Brothers always quotes me higher prices and Westside Art Center (WAC) always does it so much cheaper! WAC, only operates 5 days a week, but Monty lives just 10 minutes away, so if you call on their off day, they'll be there in 10 minutes to help a sister/brother out!
