Went on a Sunday morning for breakfast- which tends to be the one time a breakfast place is most busy.... and this place was crazy busy. When we arrived we had 8 people and they told us an hour if we wanted to sit together and 30 minutes to break up- we agreed to break up but by some act of God they were able to seat up together in about 25 minutes. We were a little disappointed to be seated early since we were at the bar enjoyed one of the best bloody mary's i've had in a long time (granted i've been in Afghanistan for 6 months prior... but still). They were delicious, with delicious garnish, and a little shot of tasty Colorado beer on the side. I still think about them. The menu was so tasty that I decided I needed to forgo my normal paleo-style eating to partake in the amazing looking breakfast... a simple omlette and bacon just wouldn't do. I ordered the Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict- it was served on a biscuit with gravy. Soooooo good. Then I stole off of other people's plates their Captain Crunch french toast- it was to die for. Breakfast today was so good, we had to go back after a day of exploring. We got there just in time for Power Hour and our waitress from breakfast was still there working. She recognized us and took great care of us again. Shout out to Chelsea J for being sweet, funny, and an all-around great server. The Bakon Bloody was yummy as were the inside out Nachos. I had a side of the pork green chile on my hash browns at breakfast and was craving some more, and the nachos did not disappoint! I recommend this place for any time of day, not just breakfast! This little gem is always our go-to Sunday brunch spot whenever we go to Vail. Not only does it scream comfort with its rustic and local feel, but the service is amazing! We were able to go this past weekend for restaurant week and per usual, we were not disappointed! Even though they were slammed when we walked in, they made sure we had a seat at the bar in less than ten minutes! I started my meal off with their world renown Bloody Mary! I mean this thing is unlike any drink I've ever tasted! Not only does it come with a side of the newest IPA on tap, but it's equipped with a celery stalk, jalapeños, onions, pickles and capers! It's kinda like hey, want some Bloody Mary with those veggies? LOL. Paired with their sizzling chicken nachos (served in a large skillet) and the Packers game, I was perfectly content! The staff are low-key but efficient, the menu is funny, the food is creative and healthy, and if you're willing to drive over I-70 for a Vail breakfast, this is my best recommendation. Truthfully, much of the food in Vail is overpriced and not terribly good. Vail lacks a high quality diner (and the Little Diner has too many rules). Westside is relaxed, and the Hungry Bear is my go-to for a shareable brunch with sweet and savory options... Note: can get crowded on weekends. But still great! read more

No, no, no; food shouldn't be done this horribly. They don't know how to make hollandaise, I've tasted better from a package mix. Corned Beef hash was old and dry. Hash browns were on the verge of being burnt. Service was atrocious, no refills on tea or water, had to get up and go ask for it. Not attentive at all. I stayed in the area and found this place with the trusty Pre Yelp app. It seems to be frequented by both locals and tourists and it's in a convenient location with parking right in front. I had a buffalo burger which was pretty good and was reasonably priced given the location. The service could be a bit better. The waitress was very cute, but just seemed cold and didn't care about her customers. I saw she made a mistake with the next table. Who knows, maybe she's just new. If you're staying in the immediate area and don't want to wander too far this is one of the few restaurant options you have. I only found out after eating here that most of the people hopped on the free shuttle that takes you to the nearby villages that are much busier and have a lot more shopping and eating choices. read more

They told us 10-15 minutes & it only took 5-7. Under-promising and over-delivering is a great start. The food was tasty & moderately priced for breakfast in Vail. The server was friendly and adequately available. The only reasons I couldn't score Westside as a 5-star restaurant was the coffee was too strong & lacked flavor and the food took a bit too long. Westside Cafe delivers on every front and ended up being one of our favorite restaurants in Vail. Excellent food, great value for money and the warmest waitstaff in town. This joint is clearly expertly managed. Every meal any time of the day was delicious and the staff were consistently welcoming and very accommodating. Great coffee, wine, Benedict, roast chicken etc. happy hour is also a cracking deal. 1/2 off appetizers, small plates and great drink specials. Great set up by the bar to watch sports as well. If you're there for breakfast, make sure to try the Benedict w chipotle bernaise - totally addictive!!!!! Not sure how breakfast gets much better than this as I am almost certain it doesn't. We went here on a Saturday morning at roughly 11:30 on our way from a few days at Vail to Denver to watch the Patriots put a stop to "Tebow Time". This seemed to be the time to go as there was no wait for a table when we arrived, although if the wait was an hour, we would wait an hour after tasting what their kitchen produces. I had the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs with some of their corned beef hash on the side. My choice of toast was a biscuit, and I might still be full from eating it all (this meal was 3 weeks ago...). The corned beef hash was not your typical ground beef hash, but the corned beef was cubed almost the same size as the potatoes. It was a change from what i have had before, but delicious and provided good texture. You never know when hash will resemble dog food, and this was far from that. The chicken fried steak was delicious, and the gravy complimented both the steak and biscuit perfectly. I am still dreaming of this meal. Wife had the Captain Crunch french toast, and I am not sure she will ever enjoy a regular order of french toast again. Westside really knocked it out of the park with this dish, and the side of bacon it came with was crispy and good. Nothing worse than soggy bacon. Coffee and Baileys and a Screwdriver made perfectly put the bow on this meal. Totally recommend going here as you will not be disappointed. read more

Visiting from out of town and gave this a try. It was a BIG miss. Side salad had warm greens and the "hot" Chile verde was like warm with five small pieces of overdone pork. Friend had a ramen bowl. Noodles were well done but the overall bowl was like warm and just OK. Severely overpriced and you are better off at any number of other options....like Chile's or Applebee's from our experience. I had the breakfast tacos and they were delicious and the green chili was amazing (and I have high standards when it comes to green chili). Really good place! We went for a late dinner on a Thu night in October...we were one of 4 tables but the place is on the smaller side & I can see how it can get very busy. Our order did take longer than expected but whatever. The kids meals were just right--my 5yr old son said of his hamburger sliders "They make good food here!" The salads aren't huge but they're well done--Kale Caesar & the beet salad were fresh & dressings are tasty. The Buffalo wings are the best--perfectly crispy & spicy. The crab cake sliders & lamb sliders are SO GOOD! We ordered light since it was late but the dinner entrees are something I'd definitely return for--seafood pasta, hearty burgers & scratch soups. We were visiting Vail and had heard about this place for a long time. We didn't really feel like we fit in here- it feels like a place for the locals even though it's in a hotel. But the service was fantastic! My husband had one of their famous Bloody Mary's- he got the spicy one- and it was huge and came with a chaser of Fat Tire. He thought it was great. He also had the Captain Crunch French Toast and couldn't believe how much he liked it- he ate every single bite and really enjoyed it. I didn't actually love the taste of my food- I thought the hash browns were extra greasy and soft, I didn't care for the french toast, and the scrambled eggs were a strange consistency. I did really love the raspberry jelly on my toast, and was excited that I could buy a jar to take home! I just had some now on my toast at home. :) So if it was for my food, I'd probably only give three stars but my husband would give 5 stars for his food, and the service was really impressive. The first time we came to the Westside we dined in and the food was excellent!! The second time my daughter had just had major surgery so we called ahead for pick up, And drove 30 minutes to our hotel before discovering that not only did they not put the chicken on the chicken Caesar salad but one of the sides to our hamburgers was missing:/ I called the restaurant to let them know, and they said I could come back tomorrow and check pick up my chicken and beans:/ I told him I did not want my chicken beans tomorrow what else could they do for me young man said well come by tomorrow we can probably do something and hung up on me:/ and to be honest if my daughter wasn't having such a rough day I would've driven the extra miles to get some sort of a refund, but decided it wasn't worth it, although A $14 chicken Caesar salad with no chicken and I have $16 hamburger with no side is a little spend he for me:/ read more
