I just came back from the worst service experience I ever had, at Westside Chevrolet Katy. After being called to the cashier, after more than 3 hours of wasting working hours waiting onsite, I discover that the ONLY thing they have performed, is the state inspection. That was actually the least important issue I had for this service request. The MAIN reason I came in was that the battery drains to near empty (engine cannot be started) in approx. 2 days when the car is parked. While I requested the service for this problem, I thought I might as well do a scheduled maintenance, since it is a year since I bought the car, have them rematch my TPMS sensors, and do the state inspection. I entered all of this information in their Service Appointment Form (http://www.westsidechevroletkaty.com/ServiceApptForm), by ticking off the boxes for "Scheduled Maintenance" and "Inspect Battery", and describing the battery problem and request for TPMS rematching and state inspection, in the text field for additional services. I should have started to worry when I was called by their representative a couple of hours later, because she claimed she only saw what I have written in the text field, not the boxes I have ticked off. Neither could she see the car make, model or year I had selected! Anyway, at the end of the call, she read back all information and issues to me, leaving me reassured that you had all the information I needed you to have. As I arrived at the service center today, I had to repeat everything again, even though the service consultant clearly had found my request on the computer. I was asked to "make myself at home" in the waiting room, and so I did. And more than 3 hours later, I discover that that only the inspection have been done!!! (and by the way, my wife had her car inspected at a drop-in service two weeks ago; it took about 15 minutes). To top it all, I see on the invoice that my car was actually reported ready by the mechanic 1.5 hours before I was told. What did you people do in those 1.5 hours, knowing I was in the waiting room, and having my cell number?!? And that was not the top after all; the car was supposedly washed, but it's tail was full of grease/oil stains that was not there when I delivered it. Went in looking for a truck to tow our camping trailer. Our salesman told us a Silverado 1500 LT would meet our needs, but would only give us prices and info on a 3/4 ton diesel that he pulled off the computer. When we stood our ground and requested a price range for a 1500 he told us he couldn't get that information because the "website was shut down for the weekend." It was Saturday morning and he had been on getting price for wrong truck. No test drive, no looking at what they had. We were told he would see what was available and he'd call. We left our info and went to Ford and got to test drive multiple trucks. We get a call from salesman today who says he found a couple of trucks we may like. We have to come in and make a commitment on a truck and then he would have it delivered. He wanted us to buy a truck sight unseen. I told him I was uncomfortable making a deal without having ever seen or driven the truck. He said it was standard practice at that dealership. So, unless you like some surprise with a $44k investment, don't go to Westside. There is a Toyota, Ford, and other dealerships within a mile. Us- we are going Ford. Reviewing the used car sales here. We recently transacted a purchase (about 2 weeks ago) that seemed to go smoothly in the beginning. They tell us we are approved for financing and then we have to place a call to the finance company to be surveyed, which left an uncertainty in the approval; however, the financing went through. Found the car to be without a spare tire; the dealer is ordering the tire and still has not called us with a status. Apparantly this is a state law that a tire has to be provided! Anyway, we will pick this up with the plates when they come in. I would say to be cautious here with the salespeople and numbers dealing, but overall we left with what we thought a fair deal overall, considering what we had to work with. The initial salesperson has left employment (wonder why!?) with the dealer so we are dealing with the used cars sales manager on the remaining items. Doing the Dave Ramsey plan, downsizing, and lowering our car expenses...we found a good Nissan with low miles, and hopefully as high MPG as we researched. Horrible service department. Three strikes and I'm done with this dealership. Several of the service advisors look down on women. Dan said he would wait and speak to my husband about the services my car needed. Hello! Yes I am a woman but I do know about cars and repairs. I also heard female employees complaining about how they are looked down at and disrespected by a few of their male co workers. 1. Took my new Tahoe in for a routine oil change - on my way home, the check engine light, low oil, service etc came on. I pulled into a gas station to check the oil dip stick and it was dry! I waited close to two hours for a tow truck that they were sending out. Apparently they drained half my oil and forgot to refill. Makes me wonder if this is common practice - mixing old with new. I saw them drain the remaining oil and it was dark!!! There is no way it was fresh oil. They told me that the technician entered the wrong info and only filled it w 5 quarts instead of the 8 that the Tahoe requires. They tried to hush me with free oil change coupons. 2. I took my Tahoe in for warranty work for the engine mounts. I had lost the main key and while the car was in for service I had asked to purchase another key. Two days later I went in to pick up my car and they had forgot to program the key. They told me they were busy and I would have to come back at a later time. Dan told me he would "take care" of the cost due to his mistake. 3. Finally my kids are back in school and I called to let them know I was going in for the key. I was told to come in at 1:30pm and they would have me out within an hour. I wait and then was told that they didn't have the key needed and they would have to go down two exits to get the key. By this time I was fed up and had to go for my kids. They told me that my car had been de programmed so I couldn't take it. By this time I'm furious!!! They put me in a truck so that I could get my kids in time. I went back to get my car and was charged a price much higher than I was quoted. I made a fuss and they offered me a 10% discount for my trouble. They finally just took off the $125 labor fee. This service department is horrible!! They don't value people's time. They made me feel as if they were doing me a favor all along. I hate writing negative reviews but it's been one thing after another with this service department. I had let the oil change fiasco go but after today........ they really had zero regard for my time. read more

I bought a new engine to replace in my 2007 Chevy Tahoe, which cost $11,000 plus another 1,000 in other maintenance, They had to replace the engine TWICE. the second engine replacement was due to the spark plug wire grounding out on the engine.. paid for new ones..which makes me think I didn't even need a new engine just spark plug wires so here I am out 13,000 for spark plug wires and misdiagnosis. They didn't put the engine cover back on, and then tried telling me it would be $60 because they didn't know if it was on there or not when I brought it in. Because they fired the service tech Tom who had been my customer service representative since day one. So that is frustrating when you build a report with someone and then the new guy doesn't know anything -not his fault. But highly unprofessional. And I explained that my car had gotten a new scratch on the front passenger side, and that I know my car isn't brand new but i do care for it. Then it comes back again with a gash in the front. This was after I mentioned being careful. Reason I took it in again was because the AC wasn't working they told me it would be 260 because the ac blower motor was grounded out, took it to another mechanic and it was the resistor, $40 part. I am extremely upset and will drive out of my way to see another mechanic who won't nickle and dime you when I do need a new vehicle or I'll buy a Ford because my husband's 05' f150 truck has more mileage and is still going strong. don't waste your time and money here! the service department is nice but get a new mechanic. or a whole new mechanic department. ridiculous. read more

Poorly ran dealership from the buying experience all the way down through the finance and service departments. I should have went to Maik Haik Chevrolet. My buying experience was terrible. During the process, the salesman was not transparent with pricing. They offered to give me $500 trade-in for my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. Finally someone at the dealership with more experience had to step in to help the transaction. After pulling my credit 5 different times later without my knowledge. I was able to agree upon a price (which later wasn't a good deal at all). My experience with Finance department: After signing the paperwork and getting the extended warranty for my new car. I went back in less than a month later to have my extended warranty cancelled. Do you know it took several phone calls and almost a year later for my auto finance company to get the refund from that $1,300 extended warranty that I had cancelled within the month of buying my car? The dealership had no explanation as to why it took so long and quite frankly wasn't apologetic. My dealings with the service department. First off the new car i bought did not have a full oil life. So within weeks of having the car I had to get an oil change. After telling my salesperson who sold me the car about this. They gave me a free oil change outside of the 2 that Chevrolet gives their new car owners. When I tried to get that 1 free oil change that the dealership gave me. They took 1 of the 2 free oil changes from Chevrolet even when I deliberately told them not to, because I live closer to Maik Haik and not Westside Chevrolet. Do you know the service manager at the time called himself getting upset with me and ripping up the paper in front of me and everyone else that was in the service department near the cashier. 2nd run in with service: So after buying my new car. I noticed there were weird yellow spots on the roof of my car. I brought it to Westside Chevrolet's attention. They tried to clean it, but it wouldn't come off. So they replaced the inside liner of my car. Well, after waiting 3-4 days to get my car back, I noticed a huge bump in the new liner near the sun-visor. Westside Chevrolet told me to wait until the end of summer to see if the heat would smooth out the bump. It of course didn't so when I went back to Westside Chevrolet to have them replace the liner again. I had to almost open up a new complete service ticket even though Westside Chevrolet has been the only dealership to touch my car and inside liner. The man I had to deal with was fairly new to the dealership ( which was no issue). However the issue came in when I noticed my light in my glove department box was not working. So I brought it to his attention. He spent all of 2 seconds looking at it and refused to open up a warranty ticket with Chevrolet. After being disappointed in his "decision". I told him ok just handle the liner than. Well he made it up in his mind that I walked of angry and upset so he didn't think I was going to get my liner fixed by them. I opened this ticket with Westside Chevrolet before Thanksgiving and had to follow up with Westside Chevrolet multiple times to see when the parts were going to come in. The guy NEVER put in the parts request. So I got Chevrolet involved to light some fired under them. Literally 4 months later I was able to get this replaced. 3rd run in with the service department: Once I had my linear replaced. I noticed my EZ tag was missing. I brought this to the dealership's attention and they were not able to find the ez tag after giving the people that worked on my car direct instructions as to placing the ez tag back on my windshield. Get this! The dealership called me back seconds after I drove off to tell me that they do remember seeing my EZ tag in the hand of one of their workers and he told me to cancel my EZ tag account for fear of someone had stollen it and might be using it illegally. Westside Chevrolet, so are you telling me that you hire thieves to work on people's cars that contain valuables? If I could I would rate them a -5 star. read more

This is your typical showroom. If you are going to buy a car here, new or used, then do your homework. I was with my husband for his purchase and he was basically going to roll over and play dead with whatever they offered. It's very cliche - the whole "let me talk to my manager" act and all of that was done. In the end, we got a decent deal on the car he wanted, so we can't complain about that too much. Decided to give there service department a chance at redemption. Had my recall done, and noticed instantly that the tire pressures were off as soon as I drove away. They told me to drive it and the tires would warm up and the pressure would equalize. If not bring it buy tomorrow. It did not and called to make an appointment to have it done. They told me the soonest it would be able to get done would be in a week. Came back and told me there would be a charge to fix it. After a half an hour told to service manager and said no problem, took the keys drove to to get fixed. Conclusion; Still needs improvement but headed down the wright path read more

The service department was not very organized or professional. I waited in my car over 30 minutes in the service lane just to be told that they would not be able to do an electrical diagnostic. The technician who initially came to my car said that everyone they had helped so far were only getting oil changes, which was a lie. I then spoke with the apathetic service manager to let him know that they should have some sort of signage to say they are only equipped to do oil changes on a Saturday morning if this were the case. He then conceded that some people were in fact getting other things done but they still couldn't do my diagnostic. I made him aware that their customer service was lacking and that I would not be returning. The thing I value most in a repair shop is honesty and integrity and the service department staff at Westside Chevrolet lacked both on this occasion. read more

At this point I've exhausted all of my options. I purchased at brand new 2016 Malibu from West Side Chevrolet. I purchased the extended warranty. In June I went to the dealership while my car was under warranty I was told I had an oil leak. I asked the service advisor why didn't they fix it. He said it's probably just from the oil pan don't worry about it. Of course I trusted the service advisor, bad idea. Moving forward to November I had a MAJOR oil leak and I'm out of warranty. I go back and forth with the service manager they agree that I pay 40% of the bill and they cover 60%. I was told the bill was $1915, I paid $833. However when I went to pick my car up the total bill was only $1328. So I email the manager that's over the dealership and explain the situation. I tell him I want my refund off $279 and that my car was making noises and wasn't driving properly as expected no reply. Well what do you know I still have an oil leak. So I call GM customer service. West Side Chevy tell GM they will contact me about the continued oil leak within 24 hours. They never did. I was advised by GM that there was nothing that could be done, because the dealership is independently owned. GM issued a gift card and said have a great day. The rep suggested I that I dispute the charges with my bank. I disputed it with Bank of America and I filed a complaint with the attorney general. The dispute is pending, but it's been a month. The attorney general hasn't replied. Well yesterday as as I'm driving my car sends an alert that engine power reduced. Now I have a oil leak, can't drive over 40 MPH, and I forgot to mention they destroyed my auto start. Can someone give me any suggestions? I didn't have $833 to give away. read more

If you have a problem with your vehicle be sure you plan to have money for a rental, time for missed work and stress! I've been in 4 times within the last 3 months and the service department has been crap each time. Takes hours and/or DAYS to even diagnose your car and NEVER have loaner cars. Funny thing though, If you contact management and corporate your car gets diagnosed and a loaner car becomes available. The Chevy Cruze and Malibu (loaned to me for one day after waiting 5 days) both run like crap. I don't feel safe at all in my Cruze. Also, the Malibu was new and the drive/engine felt horrible. We went in looking for the best deal on the latest model of chevrolet truck. The team mentioned the last 2014 unit for clearance along with the incentives + pricing. We at first thought it was a bit much and requested to be shown newer models and used models. After realizing that the 2014 was practically new having only 2720 miles and that the used/newer models was both more in price. Plus the appearance of the 2014 was much better (more chiseled). The sales team was friend and we didn't get the feeling of being lookced down upon but more of an assistive/caring feeling of how things may be improved. overall, we felt like family. read more

Texas seems to be all about pickup trucks. It was refreshing to walk into a Chevy dealership in Houston, and this was the fourth dealer in the area, and be met by not one, but two sales guys, who understood the vagaries of selling a Volt. Of course, there was some negotiation, but it was all pleasantly and promptly handled. I move around the country quite a bit, but when the lease falls due on my new Chevy, but if at all possible, I shall be going back to Westside in Houston. I recently purchased a vehicle from Westside. The car buying process was a lot faster than i thought it was going to be. But there were a few things that I wish were different. My car only came with one set of keys and they wouldn't give me another key, i had to pay for it & when you buy a new car from most dealers that put a full tank in it for you, they only add five gallons to your new car which is kind of cheap. If you're giving them over $20,000 i think they can afford to give you a $30 fill up. read more

Worst place ever! I've been waiting on a part for over 6 months and every time I come in everyone looks half stoned and has no idea what I'm talking about. The collision center is a joke, ruined my paint job with weld burns and my blind spot indicators are backwards! Not one of the managers know what going on and can't solve anything for you. I asked for store manager cause I've tried all the others and when we went out side I spoke up so he could hear me since it was much louder and we are wearing mask! He then proceeded to say I need to calm down then walked away and went back inside and wouldn't help me! DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANYTHING! THEY ARE THE WORST REPRESENTATION OF CHEVROLET! After the second time replacing the back window there is standing water on the passenger front floor. After changing out my tow mirror the manual mirror was replace with an auto fold the service manager Joe said if i want to buy an auto fold they would change it out lol i paid 70 thousand for the truck i will never buy or get service from this dealer again and i will let everyone know how bad the service is at Westside Chervolet i contacted GM also and have filed a claim on your dealer cause mold is forming on the floor. read more
