DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! I've given this shop multiple chances, but unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of criminal. I have spent over $4k over several months for the same unresolved issue. First, they misdiagnosed it as a bad throttle body. Then later admitted it never need one. Next, they claimed it was the PCV valve, which they had already replaced two years prior. When that didn't resolve the problem, they said I needed a new water pump and hoses, which failed to resolve the issue. Finally, they told me I needed a $4500 head gasket repair. At that, point, I sought a second opinion at the dealership. Only to learn the problem stemmed from the previous work, which had not be done properly. I am a teacher who cannot afford to pay thousands of dollars for "guesswork." Despite multiple chances, the shop has not offered any refund or attempt to make this right with me. At this point, based on the actions (or lack there of) of this shop, I no longer believe this is a case of gross incompetence. I believe it was done with intentional deceit and I can't with good conscience recommend this place to anyone. read more

Took my truck in for a wheel balance and new front and rear shock. The cost was $2800. Two days later rear tire came loose while driving and did over $ 3400 of damage to my truck. I came here as a neighbor who has 2 BMW's said this place was good. How I was Oh So Wrong! Even my "Friends" who drink close to there had nothing but good reviews too. I was moving as I was called to work in Austin so I took $7,000 dollars out the bank to get my car repairs done. I smelled coolant in my cabin so I asked them to check it. They said I needed a new Valve Cover and quoted me $2,300 dollars. They repaired it and I was on my way. While driving on the freeway I noticed my car pulling "Heavily" to the right. I looked and there was a yellow ding on my 313s Rims on the right one. I took it back to them and they checked their cameras and the day I took it back, the video was missing. They said for my car to have an alignment took a machine they did not have so they toe'd it in and sent me on my way. I took my car back several weeks getting more work done as I was getting my car "Sea worthy," so to speak for the many trips I'd be making back and forth to Austin from Katy. I had them perform a complete front brake job. My ceramic brake pads on the left were split down the middle and needed replacement. I negotiated with the Woman their going into detail and Her showing me options to which I did not want the cheapest items on the car, but not the most expensive. Turns out they put the cheapest rotors and pads on my car which now takes more time to stop and since they didn't use Cermic pads, my brakes squeel like a 70's cadillac. Fast Forward to now. The smell came back into the cabin, which I had Discount replace the cabin filter. I took my car to a shop here in Austin and they showed me where the bolts for the Valve Cover were stripped and Discount never replaced the original valve cover. Now the valve cover is leaking down the back of my engine. Also, my tires have worn in less than a year, having the outside wear down like mad due to the toe in they aligned my car to. Today, my battery died and I had to have the battery replaced. Once I received my car from Discount, the battery light would flash ever so often when I stopped the car. My battery died so I am at the shop getting it replaced and they told me the battery was replace recently as the battery had a date of 2018. I had never replaced the battery so this battery had to have been replace at Discount which the battery had a dead cell in it. Now, I have a new battery and the Positive Cable snapped when they were replacing the battery to which they showed where it snapped before and someone jimmy rigged it back... I spent over $5,000 dollars to which I will never recover. Avoid this place if you can at all costs... They are a complete rip off. read more

Bad customer service, bad craftsmanship, really bad mechanics. Visit 1 (Approx $1500): Took my car to this shop after telling them that it stopped while been driven. I towed the car to them about 9am and spoke to Anwar Khan (Owner) and explained that it just stopped and that all the lights on the dash came on and that the car needed to be checked. I was told that someone would take a look at the car and would call me to let me know what was going on with my car. After 24 hrs, and no call from them I called them to be told that I had a radiator problem and that the radiator needed to be replaced. They also stated that the blower on the air conditioning wasn't working. I told them to repair those 2 items. I paid them for them for the repairs. Visit 2 (Approx $1000): Not even 1 week later Im driving my car to work when all the lights on the dash light up and the car starts to smoke. Again I take my car to Discount to have them evaluate the problem. They tell me that I need to replace the radiator fan and water pump. I told them to go ahead with the repairs and asked if this would be the last thing that they need to do to replace to get the car running properly. I was assured that it would be. Which was a blatant lie!!! If you dont know how to repair something... its ok to say "This is not our area of expertise." Visit 3 (Approx $289): Again, after only a couple of days. I was driving to work the lights came on on the dash, immediately the car started smoking like a chimney. I had the car towed to Classic Care Care. They told me that the radiator neck melted and needed to be replaced. They also told me that because of the smoke billowing out to the car that I could have head damage. I had the car towed back to Discount to have the radiator replaced. During this visit I spoke with Anwar (owner). HE seemed not to care that I had been to his shop several times to have my car repaired and it was not completed successfully. He didn't seem to care that I wasted several thousand dollars on incomplete or bad repairs. If you are looking to get your car repaired... STAY AWAY!!! Find another shop. read more

After 2 weeks from getting my head gasket crack fixed and 4 months from fixing my timing belt, my check engine light is on again! When the head crack was fixed the throttle body should've been cleaned and clearly wasn't. The spark plugs & actuators should've been replaced and weren't. Immediate difference now that Daniel at Mike's Westside Auto fixed the errors that Discount Car Care should've handled. I chose these idiots because of the positive reviews but clearly they must be paying people to write them!! If I could give these assholes a negative star I certainly would. Absolutely awful experience from the very start. Came in to see what needed to be fixed on my 2017 Escape was told brakes and rotors all the way, whatever the check engine light was for and battery. Ok fine! Decided to go with just brakes and rotors. I was told and given a print out that stated $559 after the "work" was completed I went to pay only to be charged $579 by the manager. I told him that I was quoted $559, he tells me oh taxes and credit card fee. He proceeded to go back and forth arguing with me about the mistake HIS EMPLOYEEEEEEEE made. Either that or he was trying to squeeze an extra $20 out of me for some bogus ass fees instead of talking to his employee. Ultimately he slammed down $20 to give to me ! You don't argue with a customer when you are in the wrong PERIOD !! After 5 HOURS of waiting for a simple task to be done I drove off the lot only to find out THE CAR WOULD NOT STOPPPPPP. Hard like a rock the brakes were!! I drove up and around the block just to be sure and still again the car would not stop so I immediately brought it back less than 10 minutes. Not to mention there was smoke coming from the brakes and rotors they JUST CHANGED NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES PRIOR WTFFFFF One of the mechanics came out and tried to lie and say oh it's your caliper so I said listen this car was NOT Doing all of this BEFORE I brought it to you people They bring the car back in and tell me oh it's the "brake booster" oh we don't have the part it's at the ware house come back tomorrow this is 3pm mind you so I cursed they asses out it's 3pm yall fucked up my car and now I have to come back tomorrow because of your fuck up? I desperately needed an oil change and I came to this location for the first time ever because they had the best prices compared to any other place. I came in during a time when they were super busy & literally all the garages were taken. I was sure they either wouldn't help me or I would be waiting there for hours... As soon as I walked in through the door I felt very welcomed and was greeted with great customer service. The very kind man at the counter helped me immediately and despite how busy they were & the fact that two oil changes were ahead of me, they worked very fast and I was in and out within 45 minutes! (The lobby wasn't bad to wait in either because they had charging stations for your phone, everything was clean and tidy and they had free coffee!) The mechanic who did my car was also very kind and did excellent work! I saved so much money coming here (over $170 I would have spent anywhere else) and I received excellent customer service as well as it being fast and efficient. I have used this place for years. Truly, they always have great customer service. While it is sometimes not the easiest communication when dropping off or picking up, due to what seems like a language barrier, the mechanics call within a reasonable amount of time and are able to share exactly what the needs of the car are. In all the work I have had done on multiple cars, the problem always seems to be resolved and workmanship must be good because the issues do not return. They do give a 3% discount for cash so I always take cash. Interestingly enough I decided to try somewhere different because I have to drive 40 min to get to this shop, but I have decided the 40 min is worth it. Key thing to note about this place is that it is a 5 when the owner is present and a 3 when he is not. My father introduced me to the location when his Scion xA is stopped running spontaneously. Since the owner wasn't there, they just "solved" the problem we thought was wrong (We were only partially correct). That's why we had to take it back in to realize that there was a part 2. They give free diagnostics if you get the repairs done by them and they will give you true recommendations, even if it means that they tell you not to get something done immediately. For example, I took in a Chevrolet Cobalt I gifted to my sister (it used to be mine) and the owner was there. He not only fixed my problem, but he gave me a discount, since my family has been there before, he gave me a free fluid check (it's usually only free when you get an oil change, and he told me that I should replace my brakes shortly (free brake checks for everyone). This was obviously much better than my experience in places like Firestone. They charge you just to get diagnostics, regardless of if you get the repair done with them. Discount Car Care even drops you off and picks you up for free (given that you are in the area), so there's no need to rearrange your schedule. By the way, they have free towing, too, if you get the repairs done there. On top of that, there is free internet and free phone charging station. My experience here was crap. I took it to them for a blown valve near my coolant tank and to check my ac. They said my fan was broken, which kinda was weird considering my car was not over heating, and they replaced the valve. The day I got it back, I noticed my fan was not working at all.I called back to see if they changed it and they responded with "oh yea, I left early and the other guy forgot to put it in. I'm sitting here staring at it now." This is after I paid for the work to be done and there was no call back about THEIR MISTAKE. When I went back up there, they put it in and was rude when I asked them to prove to me the fan was working, since they FORGOT to put it in the first time. The mechanic said I just needed coolant after his diagnostic and then once filled he said ohh and the compressor is out. after already saying everything else was fine just needed coolant. Mechanic or fraudster? I took my car to discount car care on 21946 kingsland blvd to diagnose an electrical problem on Monday, they told me it is alternator and they will charge me $300 to replace it, I agreed to that and went their the next day on Tuesday, problem was still the same, they said the new alternator was bad and asked me to come back again on Wednesday, on Wednesday when I went there problem was exactly the same, I requested my refund at that point because they could not resolve it. They asked me to give them one more day so they could put my old alternator back and refund me my money. When I went their to pick my car on Thursday they refused to refund, claimed problem has been resolved while it clearly hasn't. Told me to drive away and ask me to come back the next day to see the owner. When i was driving back tire pressure light came on. When i was checking air pressure I saw they have changed my front two new good year tires and old rusty tires of solar and dolar are installed there. This is clearly theft of property and doing fraud at the same time. Now owner Anwar is saying tires are not his problem he isn't gonna check his video tape and won't refund me my money either for the problem which hasn't resolved yet. In pictures you can see the difference between front tires he stole and installed old crap and my rear new good year tires. Took my car in to see why my AC stopped working. Said that my vehicle needed a new part that they would order from the dealership. So I left after they told me that they would call me when they got the part later that day. 2 days later I had not heard a word so I called them and they were extremely rude saying I had to call them the next day when the "right" worker was in. So I call them the next day and the "right" worker answers the phone and tells me that they haven't even started ordering the part needed for my car and tells he'll call me right back after he finds the part. Even if it WAS an accident BY ME, I'm a respectful person and would have owned up! John called me with the accusation and I came right back!! I went to this place because it was open on saturday. I usually go to the Toyota dealership. My car had been making strange noises and was steadily getting worse. Jonathan drove my vehicle and heard the noises and put it on the lift. For several minutes he not only examined the vehicle but had others help as well. He even put it on two different lifts. Eventually it was discovered that the car had very little oil in it. The dealership that provided the last oil change did not fill it up properly and I was lucky that the engine did not seize. After I paid $150.00 for supposedly labor and parts I found out it was just a bad relay. Where was the honesty and integrity of informing customers of true price and labor. The relay to get the ac working again was only $20 bucks and all you had to do was take the bad one out of the socket and plug in the new one so I paid a mechanic $130.00 to unplug and plug a relay what a bunch of bulls(!". read more

They rebuilt the transmission on my VW Jetta, even I understand VW parts are expensive & hard to come by but it was a lot easier than I thought.
