    "Small side salad" for $12...
    Shaun A.

Menu says a side salad is $2. Was charged $12 for a small side salad. Food is decent but your menu needs to reflect prices.

Great place. Pretty large. The food is pretty good. The service is great (Johnny is awesome), and there's a bunch of pool tables. I definitely recommend stopping by

    Tenderloins!!!

We are from Indiana so I was really excited to find this little gem, while surfing Yelp. They had me at TENDERLOIN!! I typically make my own, since you can't find them anywhere past the Illinois border, but here we are. The service was great, the name of the bar, is the same as my hometown watering hole, minus the "Westside" and they paid tribute to my favorite college football team, ND. I will definitely go back to try some of the other items and to have a few drinks as well.

Kit Carson burger with onion rings. Delicious!!

I had the Kit Carson burger with onion rings. I subbed the bbq sauce for the garlic aioli which is on a lot of the other burgers. There's crispy fried onions on the burger that are delicious. The burger was fantastic, the onion rings were perfect. My cocktail was great. The restaurant and bathroom are both clean. On the way out I met the owner and discovered his wife was our waitress and bartender. I can't remember her name but she kicks ass! She was taking care of all the tables by herself and doing an amazing job. Super friendly and great customer service. This will definitely be the "go to" spot whenever I'm in Carson!!

Greasy but great. After a long day of traffic and skiing, coming into Westside was a nice end to the day. The music is a bit loud, but the guys manning the bar and kitchen were both super friendly. The bun was soft and went well with the oozing bbq sauce and crispy onion strings. I gobbled it up. The fries were perfect as well. Not the cleanest place, and you bus your own table, but it's all part of the vibe.

What's a full bar but also a great place to catch a burger and fries? The Pour House answers this question and more! Excellent Penguin Burger (double burger with veggies and sauce) with fresh French fries. Yum!! Try the pool tables, upscale karaoke machine-juke box, and wide variety of libations as well. Everything is great! Service is professional and courteous. Ambiance is country and Carson. Check out the Pour House!

Turns out a part-owner is an ND alum - we've found our favorite CC lunch spot

Tried a new (for us) venue in CC for lunch. Great down-to-earth local bar. Super friendly server/bar tender. Good lunch crowd; seemed to be a lot of regulars. Enjoyed the Penguin Burger and Chicken Breast Sandwich; good fries and excellent onion rings. Great prices.

That is supposed to be cheese

Burger, pastrami sandwich, BLTA, fish & chips, and the brisket. The Tahoe IPA beer was great. Kids all ordered soft drinks, plenty of refills offered! We all enjoyed our meals, except brisket boy. He was expecting BBQ brisket, but the plate was more of a roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, and veggies. Fish & chips were pretty good, with 2 nice sized chunks of cod. The sandwiches were nice, burger solid! The fries were really good, seemed like fresh cut. When I looked at what others were enjoying, we observed that the wings look to stand out. Next time we'll explore wings & fries....and more beer! Service was attentive and the patio very pleasant!

The good: Our server was great. She was personable. But she did mislead us when describing how…read moreeverything on the menu was good. But at the same time, it would be silly to hear a server say bad things about the menu items to their guests. So, she was just doing her job. The bad - The food. Of all the things we ordered, the cheese curds were the best thing cuz...how could you go wrong with frozen items you throw in a fryer? Anyway, we also ordered the Fried Pickles. I enjoy fried pickles, but holy sh*t these were SALTY! These pickles were more like chips. They were actually light and crispy which is unusual as fried pickles are typically still soft and and keep their integrity after being fried in a batter. These, however were like, dehydrated pickles that were battered and deep fried. I really liked how crispy they were, but with how salty they were, we couldn't finish it. Chicken Pot Pie - one of the more popular dishes ordered. It looked great when presented. The top crust looked nice and thin like a cracker, but when I dug in, the filling was runnier than what I am used to. But more importantly, the flavor was off. I assume they use a frozen pie crust because it didn't taste buttery at all. It had a weird chemically taste. I missed having that rich buttery crust a pot pie should have. The filling didn't taste great either. Also, had a weird chemically taste to it. I almost think they use canned chicken based on the flavor and texture it had. I was so looking forward to a homey comforting pot pie. It's not often I get to eat one of these, but this one fell way short of my expectations. The Lamb Burger - My husband loves lamb and it's not often you see a lamb burger anywhere. He was so excited to have this, but was so disappointed after taking his first bite. He said it was so bland. I took a bite. And while it did taste of lamb, I agreed it lacked seasoning. Now, THIS needed some of the salt that were in those pickles. Lol! Foxy Fried Chicken - A panko fried chicken breast. It was good. Mashed potatoes were good and the veggies. I didn't expect this dish to be spicy though. I don't know if the cook went heavy handed on the pepper, but the veggies and mashed potatoes it was served with had a kick to them. Meh. All in all, we wouldn't return. There was nothing we had that made me feel like this place had potential and worth making another visit to. We did order quite a few things and everything, but the curds were lackluster and a disappointment.

So there we were. We…read morewanted to take a bike ride, have breakfast, and enjoy a beautiful spring day. We did all of that and we decided to have breakfast at the Overland. We knew it wasn't going to be crowded and the food will be fresh, but it was so much more than that. Overland is lucky to employ Tennessee, who might just be the best server in the Carson Valley. I grant you that we haven't been to every restaurant and we haven't had every server and so it could be hyperbole to try to tell you that he's the best, but we need to be sure to let you know that he is clearly in the top percentile of quality, local servers. Why you ask. He anticipated our every need, and so we always had water, always had coffee, and he cleared every single time he got near the table. His positive energy is infectious. Yes, I can hear you now, what about the food? My wife can, on occasion, high maintenance, and this was one of those mornings. She ordered the Eggs Benedict without the bottom bread plus one more whole extra Eggs Benedict, and Tennessee didn't flinch. I ordered the vegetarian omelette and I had side breakfast potatoes. All of it tasted great. I even tried the hollandaise sauce on my wife's eggs Benedict and it tasted fresh and tasty. So, I say give Tennessee a raise, and when you go to the Overland, hope that you get seated in his section because it will be an experience that you won't forget soon, and the food is very good. Somehow, this breakfast restaurant is flying under the radar on Saturdays and Sundays. They truly deserve to be packed as they have the formula for success, great service, good food, and a clean environment..

Bonus, we caught happy hour! Our server was helpful, clarifying some menu and general questions for us. We didn't realize that it was the same owners of Great Basin, but it was very reminiscent with pub fare, similar menu styles, and Great Basin beers on tap. We'd stop again, but wouldn't go out of our way since we have several Great Basin locations to choose from in Reno.
