The best chocolate cake I have ever experienced...!!!
Ian M.

This place always delivers some of the best food and service in the Carson Valley! We come here as often as possible but split our time between here and Stonefly in Markleeville. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On this occasion, we were seated in a quiet dinning area to the left of the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Having our pick of tables, we selected the one next to a nicely lit China cabinet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Issac, the bartender, took amazing care of our table and made sure our glasses were never empty. The macadamia encrusted sea bass I had melted in my mouth and is one of the most delicious meals I've ever had the pleasure to eat...! My wife and I were celebrating her birthday weekend LOL and she selected the filet Mignon and also opted for the most delicious chocolate cake around...! The chocolate decadence cake (to eat much later at home...!) Glen Eagles portions are so huge, it's really hard to fit dessert in when done with a meal. I'm on a diet eating low carb meals so I stuck with that, but saying "No" to their fresh made piping hot bread left a tear in my eye...! Hardest thing to say...! Not pictured was the artichoke app with lemon truffle aioli. Perfection!

Adult Night Out at Glen Eagle Grill was fantastic!! My husband and I had the best time. We eat and drank our faces off. We had the best time. The service was awesome! We ordered cocktails to start out with. I ordered a glass of champagne and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned make with Makers, very nicely made. We ordered an appetizer- escargot, it was buttery and garlicky with a spice that I'm not sure what it was but good. Our second course was French Onion soup and a caesar salad. For our entree, we ordered the Ribeye and Crusted Chilean Sea base. Bother were perfectly cooked with so much flavor. Finally, for dessert, we ordered lava cake and brownie Sunday. Also with dinner, we order a bottle of Silver Oak and it was served to us by their MD. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left everything was done well. Excited to return.

I feel like this is a solid 3.5-4 rating depending on how you order. The service is amazing, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the restaurant itself is a bit dated but that can had to the charm depending on who you talk to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend making a reservation, but you could get in after a short waiting depending on the time. We were sat and remediated given water and some warm bread with butter. The bread tasted homemade and was great. The bruschetta was served warm, I was not use to it but is tastes fantastic, it was the highlight of the meal followed my the salad for me. Cesar salad was great and I recommend upgrading to that over the house salad. My husband got the black bean soup which was another fantastic option. My salmon was not worth the price, it was very plain and standard as far as salmon meals go. My husband got the peppercorn steak that was perfect! Highly recommend getting that as it was cooked to perfection and warm throughout. For dessert my husband got coffee and swears it was a fantastic brew that he recommends. The bread pudding was good, but average in respect to desserts they have several fabulous options that i would like to come back and try.

The Ribeye Steak.

The appetizers were outstanding. The wait staff were attentive. The main course was fantastic, but the vegetables were cold and the baked potato wasn't warm enough to melt the butter. We already knew that we had to bring the Big wallet. This dinner was for our Son's Birthday. Since he is going into the USAF, Special Warfare, we wanted to give him a special send off meal. He had the New York steak. My other Son, also going into the USAF. had the Ribeye steak. My wife had the Salmon. I had the Chicken Marsala. Our young Men had Cheesecake for dessert. The portion size was quite ample, and very good.

The service is top notch. Food has always been on point every time we've eaten here, never once disappointed. Tonight no difference. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a great, quiet place to have a great meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We finally made it to Glen Eagle's after years of having it on our "want to try" list. We came here for a date night and it did not disappoint. We arrived around 5:00 on a Thursday and didn't have reservations but the host promptly seated us in the tavern area which has the same menu as the main part of the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated at a charming table near the fireplace.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All of the staff were professional, friendly and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. We ordered the Bruschetta and soup of the day which was a Chile Relleno for our starters. The soup was delicious and I would gladly order it again. For our mains we got the Kurobuta Pork Chops which was outstanding and the Macadamia Crusted Chilean Sea Bass. I don't usually enjoy pork but that night I asked my husband for a second bite of his chops because they were that good. We ended the meal with the Chocolate Decadence Cake which was delicious but very rich so we ended up taking half of it home. We enjoyed the service, food and value at Glen Eagle's and can't wait to come back.

Our Anniversary desert from the staff. That was very thoughtful!

We decided to give this place a try after receiving two gift cards from a family member. We were pretty excited because we knew this was a high quality steakhouse. Glen Eagles is really easy to find and is set in a really pretty woodsy kinda of setting. It's even nicer as you walk in and sit down. We were seated at a table for two which was great since we were celebrating our anniversary. The back of the restaurant is very pretty and looks like it could be used for a wedding. The inside is very clean and rustic. We arrived at around 4:30 so it was early in the evening. We were seated by a really nice young lady who brought us water and gave us menus. We opted for some calamari as an appetizer and when our server arrived gave her our choices from the menu. My wife had the ribeye with veggies and a baked potato with sour cream and chives. I ordered the pecan encrusted halibut with vegetables and rice pilaf. We enjoyed the calamari and enjoyed the scenery as we waited for our food. I couldn't help but notice the young lady who seated us and how attentive she was to us and anyone in the dining room. We actually saw more of her than our actual server. Our food arrived shortly and looked ok. I was pretty excited to see how everything tasted. The vegetables were still kinda hard and hard to cut. But they tasted great. The rice pilaf I have to say was not very good. It' was pretty generic. My wife's ribeye was dry and not seasoned well at all. My halibut was amazing though. I didn't make a big deal out of anything bcz the meal was pretty good. Just not as spectacular as I was hoping. I mean to be honest we have had better food at some of the smaller casinos. Especially the ribeye. Pioneer Crossing in Dayton does a killer ribeye. So yea. For desert our server brought us a really nice cheesecake with fruit and a Happy Anniversary message on the plate. It was so nice and thoughtful of the staff. They didn't charge us for it. So overall I like Glen Eagles and I will be back to try some of their other items. Just bcz this wasn't the greatest meal experience doesn't mean the next one won't be good. I mean the staff is excellent and they're very friendly. The staff made our Anniversary dinner a very nice evening and we are grateful for that. I am big on tipping and made sure the young ladies that served us got a nice tip. Can't wait to come back and try this again.

I almost canceled, but we went anyway. Those reviews were nothing like what we experienced. The only thing I can imagine with those negative reviews must be just a Smear campaign from a former disgruntled employee. Who knows? For us, the evening was perfect. Great GREAT staff, and the food was everything you could hope for in a prime Stakehouse. I ordered the 16 oz. Prime rib, and she ordered the small Filet mignon. We chose the Albondigas Soup and baked potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly. The meal came with a selection of two breads in the basket they brought out when we sat down. Even the vegetables were cooked tender crisp. We tasted each other's dinners and both were great. I'd recommend this restaurant to any who want a real steak dinner. Nice Job everyone!

Today's soup special with your meal was potatoes and ham. OMG delicious. I could have eaten this for my meal. Hubby subbed a wedge salad for his mixed greens salad. No mention from the waiter of it going to be full price either, vs a subbed item!! Hubby ordered the 6oz filet medium (cooked perfect) with a loaded baked potato. that was good. Green beans and 2 pieces of carrot for the veg. Not really upscale veggies and the green beans were very tough. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. I wanted to get the creamed spinach, but he told me it would be full price. Ok no biggie so I opted for the house veggies that come with it. Now for my potato option, I wanted the mascarpone mashed potatoes, no mention of the fact it would be full price!! Don't understand why as he mentioned it about the creamed spinach. Same as he did not mention the wedge would be full price. My meal was great except for the fact, there was about 1/2 the sauce as it had last year. So the fish was dry once the sauce was gone. Over 1/2 of the fish was without, but this cup of mascarpone mash was not worth the 8.00 they charged for it. Now here is the other problem. A really nice couple sat across from our table. I am guessing our waiter knew them for great tips etc as they were very very friendly. He boxed their meals for them. Not us, a bus helper by the name of Azul, super super sweet and helpful since our waiter was mostly absent. He stopped and talked to them often. So as this is happening, we are left waiter-less. We had to call him several times to get things we needed with our meal and a forgot to order, order of mushrooms. He came by 1 time after our food was delivered to bring us our Anniversary desert, (a good 15 to 20 minutes) after our to go bags sat on the table for a good 10 minutes. He dropped it and took off. Now the couple by us he definitely knew.. They came in after us and left before us by a good 10 minutes each way!. I hate this as we have been coming here for a good 4-5 years now. 1 or 2 times a year. Fixed incomes here. After we finally received our check, we were charged full price for both the wedge salad and the mascarpone potatoes. Well here went our great night. Hubby called for the manager, and he removed those charges as we were not made aware of them 1st off. Manager was also told, wait staff should inform of any full charge. Now this little electric pay crap was handed to us to pay the bill. Ummm I do not work here, nor should I with what we are being charged. Not sure if a tip was left or not as I was totally confused on it, and once again, waiter was not there to help us. Pretty sure, we will not be back!!! Such a shame too In the Carson City area, this was our go to place for a nice meal. THEY ALSO TOOK AWAY THE TRUFFLES

They also have an incredible beer selection with well over 100 beers on the menu, so there's something for everyone. A word of advice make reservations if you can. The wait was nearly an hour and it's easy to see why. We started with the fry bread and the jalapeño bombs. The fry bread was delicious, but those jalapeño bombs were an absolute 10/10 and a must-order. We originally came for the prime rib, but unfortunately they had already sold out around 6 p.m., which was definitely disappointing. Thankfully, the food that did make it to our table erased that disappointment pretty quickly. We ordered the two-meat BBQ plate with ribs and brisket, and both were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, smoky, and paired perfectly with their delicious BBQ sauce. We also tried the spicy pot pie, which was unlike any pot pie I've had before, in a good way. It reminded me of an enchilada baked inside a buttery, flaky crust, and it was fantastic. The service was equally impressive. I feel terrible that I can't remember our server's name because he absolutely deserves the recognition. He was friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience even better. Between the amazing food, outstanding service, and unique atmosphere, this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. In fact, it's probably the biggest reason I'd make the drive back to Carson City.

We had a 45 minute wait which I don't mind being that it was a Saturday night, but after being sat at our table it took more then 25 minutes for our server guy to come around and take our order for a soda and an Iced tea! As far as the food I think that we enjoyed your sample that was given at Taste of Downtown more than the almost $80 meal that my wife and I had that night! Wife had the Brisket sandwich which looking at the menu you'd think it would be 2-3 slices of brisket accommodating the bread and fixn's, Nope it it came out like pulled pork or canned beef jerky. I had the half chicken meal and I guarantee the the reason our meals were cold, was probably because the waiter was sitting at the table by the left rear wheel of the steam paver in the lobby instead of bringing our food out and we had to ask the server for the table behind us for a few boxes and our check! NEVER RETURNING id rather spend my time and money elsewhere! Mike

He said they opened the wok stir fry station that was closed for a long time. He said it was really good and you get to make up you own wok fry my just checking off on a list of ingredients of what you want. We meet up there, you just have to sign in at the front desk as you enter first. The inside looks same as it always did, open and clean. We go over to the stir fry station on the back to the right. For $8.65 you get to pick out all the stuff you want, no limit, but I do think they go my total weight, so like if you pick 2 meats, you get less of each one, still generous with the stuff you pick though. We just filled out the little forms, circling what we wanted. They even offered shrimp for no extra cost. You won't get that in any Chinese restaurant! I got shrimp for my protein and the chef put a ton of it in! My friend had a combo of chicken and shrimp. We watched as the chef tossed our stuff in the air in the wok. They run induction burners, so no giant flames ... prob a good thing inside a hospital! Our food is served in to go boxes, no plates here. Wow, the food was super scrumptious, I liked our selection of ingredients. I'd say with this wok stir fry station open now, get yourself over here and have lunch. It starts at 11 am. $8.65 with no tax is way cheaper than any Chinese restaurant these days!
