Got my first tattoo today from Gilbert.. I went in wanting the side of my neck done. He showed tute care for my future as I'm only 24 and strongly advised against it. We agreed my left forearm and I couldn't be any happier with the results ! I explained how this tattoo meant so much to me as it was to honor my uncle who passed. My uncle was my only father figure in my life. He even played the songs I had mentioned were my uncles favorite songs. That detail meant so much.. Gilbert is a great guy had us laughing the whole time. The piece is beautiful and I will definitely come back for another soon!

I was searching for a new tattoo artist and one I could trust to tattoo my kids as two of them were getting their first tattoos. We pulled up, Gil already had our idea drawn up and he was ready. He attended us promptly and provided some of the best music, laughs, and work. He is one of the realist people I've met. He made us all completely comfortable and welcomed. He even talked to my nephew about working on his bike to make it show quality by giving him ideas. He even offered for him to come by and spend time to help him out. We will definitely make Gil our family tattoo master! Thank for for the laughs, the amazing work and for being good to my kids!

If you are looking for a great tattoo shop with a super chill vibe then this is the place for you. From start to finish I was listened to and felt comfortable. The shop is super clean and Gilbert the owner even sang happy birthday to me ( it was my bday) Carlos did my tattoo and he did a fantastic job. I recommend this shop and will be back. read more

Sent over a simple tattoo drawing for my wife to honor our late dog, they said $150.00 then sent us a link to prepay $105.00. I asked them for an invoice showing the cost and the balance that would be do at the end, instead of doing that or calling they just canceled our appointment and could care less. Asking for almost all the money two weeks prior to the appointment with zero paperwork equals an open check book not the way to do business in my opinion. Any company that would act like that is not one that I would want putting something permeant on my body. read more

Terrible experience I went in with my daughter who was speaking to one of the artists. He said her tattoo was "s**t" and should be covered up. She went to get something from her car and upon coming back in He said "I guess everything about you is s**t your cars s**t too". The experienced rudeness was so bad we left without getting any work done. Obviously from this visit it appears this shop employs unprofessional and rude individuals who don't care about a young woman feeling comfortable in their shop. There is no excuse for bad customer service, making people feel uncomfortable or rudeness. Unfortunately based on this experience I have to say avoid at all costs, there are plenty of other tattoo shops in town, no need to give hard earned money to a place that treats you badly. read more

I went in for a tattoo that was supposed to flow behind my ear to my neck. Not only did they mess me up and give me a horrible tattoo but I will be paying more to get it removed than I paid for the actual tattoo. The owner of the shop did my tattoo, I walked in and said I would be willing to pay 300-600$ thinking I would get time quality and effort put into my tattoo, instead I got rushed into a tattoo that he wanted to take my 600$ for after stating we would talk price after the tattoo, I have never felt more disrespected in an tattoo shop before would not recommend to anyone unless you want to get scammed. Terrible. read more

I went in for a cover up for a name on my right side. The shop has chill & great vibes. And that's a huge plus. My artist GABRIEL blew my mind away!!! Shoutout to him! It's one thing seeing the idea drawn up and then a stencil. But actually seeing the progress along the way it was a pretty great feeling! He was a great listener and then also added his own flair and ideas to what I had in mind for the cover-up. I was in complete awe. He's not only talented at what he does, but he makes getting a tattoo fun and enjoyable! He's very clean & sanitary when it comes to his set up and the whole process. I can't forget to mention that he's also customer service oriented, friendly and down to earth. He deserves more than 5 stars for doing an AMAZINGLY GREAT job! This by far is my absolute Favorite tattoo! I'm obsessed with my new piece. The picture is amazing but doesn't do justice to what you can see in person. It's beautiful. My husband and I went in to get a quote for some cover ups. Decided to get them done. Personally I had no idea what to get but Gilbert did a great job. My husband had Nolita do his cover up and it came out amazing. The shop is clean and it has personality. I'm not a fan of shops that feel like it's a museum. Aaron did a great job on my husbands earth sign tattoo. He was very professional and super nice. And they'll work with you on pricing which is great, even offering military discount bc he's active duty. A lot more friendly than other tattoo shops, they treat you like they actually care about receiving your business. Highly recommend this place! read more

I walked in to this tattoo shop originally looking for an ex tattoo artist that used to work here, was informed he no longer worked here, but Miguel (a different artist) approached me and asked me questions as to what I wanted and made me feel confident in trusting him to add something to my body forever. He was very knowledgeable, nice, respectful, and calm. I came in with no specific idea, and he freehanded something for me that would look great with the existing unfinished tattoo I already had, from 3 years ago. The price was amazing for the size, and the finished result was outstanding, and for me to say that is a lot! Once he began tattooing he has a very light handed and it did not hurt as much as expected. He had me sit in a very comfortable position which depended on where the tattoo was. He was kind enough to talk me through it and kept checking on me to make sure everything was ok. The shop was clean, disinfected and sterile. I would 100% not only recommend this shop, but in specific this tattoo artist! I certainly plan on returning to continue my work! Thank You Miguel!!! Went last week with my girls and we all had a good time. We all got tattoos and one got her nipples pierced. Vibes were awesome. Music was great. We were offered snacks and drinks. This is my first review I've ever done on yelp, first I'd like to thank the artist for not judging me nor making me feel out of place once I walked in, I went to MULTIPLE tattoo shops in the area and not one place made me feel like I was a actual customer, it was very uncomfortable but coming to west side tatttoo best experience OF MY LIFE. 10/10 recommend anyone to come here I am not from Arizona but I now know where my home is when it comes to getting tattooed/pierced. I wanted a certain orbital but he said not only is my ear not as pronounced there, it's a very complex healing process. Luckily I had already researched Old West & liked another orbital picture they posted to Yelp so that one was my second choice & Torin was all over it! He measured & placed it PERFECTLY. Plus I got a flat piercing & he placed that perfectly as well in comparison to my other piercings. His commitment to health & safety is unmatched & both piercing are healing so well with the saline solution I bought from Old West. I came back exactly a month to get the shorter post needed for my flat and it was just such a pleasure to show Torin how great they both look! Each time I was in there were multiple people getting tats and the piercings are like back-to-back so this is definitely a go-to place for both. Thank you Torin & Old West! Saw this shop was open and the first impression was already great -- they were very nice on the phone and was more than happy to provide pricing and wait time information. When getting there, you're greeted by the staff and you just tell them what you're looking for. Tattoos take appointments, but piercings are walk-in. And the good thing is they are opened late so if you're wanting something in the middle of the night, they got you. I had to wait a little bit since there were people ahead of me, but once it was your turn, it flied by and it was super quick. ALWAYS ask your questions during the piercing to ensure you have proper aftercare. Since the piercing goes by quickly, they usually send you off quick too. But always ask about the healing time and any solution you can use to clean it -- the staff was more than happy to provide that to me. The piercings were also very affordable even with tip being applied, it did not break the bank! The only downside is that the parking around the area is slim, but walking isn't too bad! My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary, and her 1 request for our anniversary was to get tattoos on our ring fingers of each other's initials. We didn't have any luck finding an artist to do them as we went to two different shops who were not very helpful. I mentioned to my wife where I got my tattoos 15 years ago, which was Westside Tattoo, and we should check them out. We got to the shop about 3 minutes before they were about to close, and I mentioned that my wife and I wanted to get tattoos to mark our 25th anniversary. Without hesitation, the shop owner Gilbert, who had done my tattoos years back, told me that he'd take care of us. I felt bad because they were about to close, but he insisted that he'd take care of us and not to worry. He immediately took us to the back of the shop, and started chatting with us. The whole time upbeat and not at all annoyed that we came in the shop when it was about to close. He was also playing love songs for us, and was happy to hear we'd been married that long. We were in and out of the shop within a half hour, and it really made our night as this was my wife's one request that was fulfilled. It also made me very happy to see my wife this happy because she was pretty bummed out prior to going to the shop. We really had a great experience, and really appreciate Gilbert taking care of us. His shop hasn't changed as I had the same experience 15 years ago. He was just taking care of his customers and wanted us to have a great experience. However, to us it was much more than that as he was able to help us celebrate a pivotal milestone in our life journey together. We will be forever grateful, and will forever have our business for any future tattoos. Best tattoo shop! Love the professionalism! Got my first tattoo at Westside Tattoo in 2017. It was a simple red rose w/leaves on my bicep. It is beautiful but I wanted to add-on, widen the design a bit, extend it to to the elbow. I wanted to add stem, leaves & a couple rosebuds. Allen was there & chatted with me about what I wanted. He looked at my original single rose tattoo & a picture I got online, sketched out a design AND he was available to do the work right then. And the price was good. My finished tattoo beautiful! It took less than 2 hours and it's exactly what I wanted, exactly the way I wanted! He took a pic of it for me, which I sent to my husband. I couldn't get home fast enough to show it off! He also added my husband's initials into the design, that I suddenly requested that at the end. Allen was the best! I absolutely love my rose tattoo & so does my husband & 2 best girlfriends.
