Location/Atmosphere: The Westville Pub is a welcoming pub in the Asheville area. We went on a Friday night, it wasn't too busy. They had a variety of seating selection such as: the bar, booth, or indoor but with an open window to the street. Service: We were able to sit ourselves and were quickly greeted with menus. Drinks and food were brought in a timely manner. Our waiter was great, and perfectly attentive to our liking. Food (A): I got the Gringo Tacos and I would rate them a 8.8/10. The beef was perfectly cooked to my liking giving it that home cooked tasting. My tacos were hefty and had plenty of beef and toppings. Food (J): I got the Fish Tacos and I would rate them a 7.8/10. The fish was battered really well, but could've used a little bit more of seasoning. The slaw was fresh but was lacking flavor for my liking. read more

Average pub; OK ambiance (very dark inside), and sub-par food. I ordered the special they had for lunch- a smashburger. It wasn't a true "smash" burger (thicker patties), and had way too many ingredients. I did appreciate however that they allow well-behaved dogs inside. read more

I love the vibe of West Asheville and this is definitely a cool spot. Neighborhood bar feel with plenty of seating, some seats that face the street and it's really cool with the windows open. This is a neat local pub ambiance wise but golly it is expensive. The food is fairly bland with little flavors. Sandwiches and burgers are high for the taste and not including a side. If you've ever been to neighborhood pubs in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal in Canada in the summer, this place reminds me of those. Love the roll up at the front so the place is open in nice weather and you can and sit and watch the world go by as you eat and enjoy a beer. Also a small back patio. We had fantastic beers (a Hefeweizen and a Porter) from the adjoining All Sevens Brewery, but they also feature beers from other local breweries, as well as cocktails. The vibe is divey, but in the way that makes places in West Asheville fun, comfortable places to hang out, eat and drink. They are open from mid-morning to late at night. We went for lunch. We had the chicken philly and the black-n-blue burger, with half orders of regular pub fries and sweet potato waffle fries. I like philly sandwiches, but often the hoagie rolls are way too soft and they soak up all the juices and get mushy. Here the hoagie was more baguette-like, firmer and with some nice saltiness. There was plenty of chicken, onions and green & red peppers, covered with very tasty white American melted cheese inside. The burger was super thick, cooked well and very good paired with the blue cheese. We added jalapenos for some kick. The pub fries were excellent and the sweet potato waffle fries were good, too. Westbille Pub is a great spot to grab a local brew & some late night munchies! The fries and hand cut & delicious. The chicken fingers were panko breaded & tender. We chose the sweet potato savory waffle fries for our third choice & they were yummy! This is a great place to go with a big group of friends, on a date, or with the family! Stopped to try out a local beer and pizza. Nice attentive bartender. Only issue was paying to park the patrol guy was checking before I even got out of the vehicle around the corner. After walking there I discovered they had some parking in back. read more

Went on Saturday night and terrible experience. Really rude staff, one female bartended blew my mind with how rude and condescending she was. Ignored my friend for 30 minutes and then came over and was an absolute jerk to us. Can someone also explain to me how you charge for pool, require an ID for the cue ball, AND don't have all the pool balls? (They don't have an eight ball) read more

I was just at westville pub, me and my partner was with a friend of ours and he was at westville pub and we wanted to play pool so I gave him $1 and he sat at the bar amd waited and then i reminded him he had some quarters in the car so he gave me the key and I went to get them we get in then put the quarters in the pool table when he starts racking up the pool balls a lady comes in there and says the bartender said we took something and kicked us out, you can run the cameras back and we didnt take nothing out of the bar so what is the point of us getting kicked out read more

I've been here a few times now. Kind of strikes me as the quintessential West Asheville watering hole. Just real, friendly people with no attitude. I've had great conversations here with complete strangers. The staff is also friendly and efficient. The section of beers is superior. I've been here mostly during the week afternoons and evenings. Late night snacking menu and one of the few places still open for dinner - thank you for having us covered after our 2.5 hr. flight (Allegiant - so mad at you always lol) delay - one of the few pubs + brewery still open! Parallel parking on the street or their overflow lot - accepts cash/parking pass. I had their Kids Fried Fish w/carrots + celery - it totally hit the spot for me. The breading was golden - perfect portion for me since an adult size would most likely be too big and they were already low on fish, so this was really meant to be after all and overall, so happy! Fresh celery and carrots with ranch is an absolute most! Hubs had their Chicken Sandwich - fairly large fried piece that was even better smothered in a spicy sauce - only annoying thing is that it cost extra. ROACHES! COCKROACHES. I usually drop in for a few drinks, yesterday I ordered food. Chicken Philly with fries was good the wings were bland. Gringo tacos were solid. HOWEVER--- half way through my meal I saw TONS of baby roaches so I stopped eating and will never do that again. Pretty good food. This review is based solely upon the food because we didn't eat in (there's a pandemic, after all, even in July 2021). Ordering from here was not planned, but when we stopped at Nine Mile to pick up some dinner for takeout, they weren't taking orders any longer. Lucky for us Westville Pub was just about a block away so it didn't take a lot of hemming and hawing about what to do. We ordered fried pickles, a burger, and a turkey Ruben. The pickles weren't bad, but we ordered them to go so of course they weren't like peak deliciousness. All I can say about the burger, since I didn't eat it, is that it was well cooked and good. I really enjoyed the Ruben, and it's not terribly easy to find them sometimes since the corned beef version isn't up my alley. Fries were pretty good too, and the portions were huge. Extremely rude staff. I placed my order and the bartender looked me in the eye and said "No." With no explanation. I laughed bc I assumed he was joking bc why would you otherwise treat a customer that way? When he didn't laugh with me I said, "Wait, I don't understand." He then told me they don't serve one of the items I ordered, and I told him it was on the menu. He continued to argue with me, so then I showed him where the item was listed on the menu. Turns out he didn't know it was on the menu. I don't care about his knowledge of the menu--I care about how I was treated as a result. Our first few moments in Asheville, we were overwhelmed with the choices for lunch! We decided to stop into the Westville Pub on a whim, and it ended up being a great decision. We were greeted instantly and our server was very friendly and helpful. We loved the family-like atmosphere of the Pub, and the food was just great! We got the fish sandwich and the Fusion Confusion special. Both dishes came out quickly and were large portions. We loved the French fries--definitely try them with the house ranch. Needed something quick and easy that was lacking tourist and Westville Pub provided! It also provided tequila shots and chicken wings! Two of my favorite things on a Friday night! I like to order my chicken wings buffalo style with extra chopped garlic, apparently garlic is not a thing so my corrected order is buffalo style, add chopped garlic. Never with blue cheese, always with ranch and carrot sticks. Wouldn't say these were the best wings I've ever had but anywhere that adds the garlic is a winner in my book. And they didn't judge us for taking 3 tequila shots in an hour. We shared the truffle parm fries - so good, soooo good. We've been on truffle fri kick and I would have to say Westville does it right. We sat at the bar but the booths looked cozy too. I always enjoy a pub with good funky character and that's what you get here. There's a lot to look at and take in, I think my BF gets annoyed when I get lost checking everything out, I'm like a child and get really excited over the quirks of places. The outside patio is dog friendly, so Lucy will be making an appearance next time. DEFINITELY NOT A SPORTS BAR. First let me start off with the two good things about the place. One the bloody Marys were great and two the fries with truffle were good. On to the bad. First off this is not a sports bar, this place has the pulse of a turd. It was like watching football in church. I was there to watch the Georgia Clemson game, I thought there would be a little excitement in a top 5 match up... We arrived early in the evening and they already didn't have ingredients for half of the drinks on their cocktail list. Came here to wait for my wife from getting a tattoo down the street and didn't have any food but the 2 Bloody Mary's I had were spicy and good. I saw some of the food offered and looked good as it was mostly pub fare which is right down my alley. If I had more time to come back for the live music and try the microbrews, I will add to my review if and when I come back to visit again. The worst place ever!!! Food is "blah" and OVERPRICED, especially considering so many other amazing places in Asheville. The service is terrible! I went to pick up food for me and my husband, and the bartenders continuously ignored me. So many people came up behind me, and they gladly asked them if they needed help. I was like "excuse me", and several of the bartenders looked at me straight in my face but acted like I wasn't there.
