If you've ever been to neighborhood pubs in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal in Canada in the summer, this place reminds me of those. I was just at westville pub, me and my partner was with a friend of ours and he was at westville pub and we wanted to play pool so I gave him $1 and he sat at the bar amd waited and then i reminded him he had some quarters in the car so he gave me the key and I went to get them we get in then put the quarters in the pool table when he starts racking up the pool balls a lady comes in there and says the bartender said we took something and kicked us out, you can run the cameras back and we didnt take nothing out of the bar so what is the point of us getting kicked out read more

Parallel parking on the street or their overflow lot - accepts cash/parking pass. I had their Kids Fried Fish w/carrots + celery - it totally hit the spot for me. The breading was golden - perfect portion for me since an adult size would most likely be too big and they were already low on fish, so this was really meant to be after all and overall, so happy! Fresh celery and carrots with ranch is an absolute most! Hubs had their Chicken Sandwich - fairly large fried piece that was even better smothered in a spicy sauce - only annoying thing is that it cost extra. Pretty good food. This review is based solely upon the food because we didn't eat in (there's a pandemic, after all, even in July 2021). Ordering from here was not planned, but when we stopped at Nine Mile to pick up some dinner for takeout, they weren't taking orders any longer. Lucky for us Westville Pub was just about a block away so it didn't take a lot of hemming and hawing about what to do. We ordered fried pickles, a burger, and a turkey Ruben. The pickles weren't bad, but we ordered them to go so of course they weren't like peak deliciousness. All I can say about the burger, since I didn't eat it, is that it was well cooked and good. I really enjoyed the Ruben, and it's not terribly easy to find them sometimes since the corned beef version isn't up my alley. Fries were pretty good too, and the portions were huge. Needed something quick and easy that was lacking tourist and Westville Pub provided! It also provided tequila shots and chicken wings! Two of my favorite things on a Friday night! I like to order my chicken wings buffalo style with extra chopped garlic, apparently garlic is not a thing so my corrected order is buffalo style, add chopped garlic. Never with blue cheese, always with ranch and carrot sticks. Wouldn't say these were the best wings I've ever had but anywhere that adds the garlic is a winner in my book. And they didn't judge us for taking 3 tequila shots in an hour. We shared the truffle parm fries - so good, soooo good. We've been on truffle fri kick and I would have to say Westville does it right. We sat at the bar but the booths looked cozy too. I always enjoy a pub with good funky character and that's what you get here. There's a lot to look at and take in, I think my BF gets annoyed when I get lost checking everything out, I'm like a child and get really excited over the quirks of places. The outside patio is dog friendly, so Lucy will be making an appearance next time. DEFINITELY NOT A SPORTS BAR. First let me start off with the two good things about the place. One the bloody Marys were great and two the fries with truffle were good. On to the bad. First off this is not a sports bar, this place has the pulse of a turd. It was like watching football in church. I was there to watch the Georgia Clemson game, I thought there would be a little excitement in a top 5 match up... The worst place ever!!! Food is "blah" and OVERPRICED, especially considering so many other amazing places in Asheville. The service is terrible! I went to pick up food for me and my husband, and the bartenders continuously ignored me. So many people came up behind me, and they gladly asked them if they needed help. Westville Pub is OK. It's one of those spots where you will see the same people every time you go there. Said people will be sitting on the porch smoking cigarettes and talking loudly. There was once a period in my life where I hung out here regularly but that time has definitely passed. The food here is OK. The atmosphere of the bar is OK. The service is OK. Really, everything about Westville Pub is OK. They have a great patio as mentioned above, but if you sit out there, you will be surrounded with a cloud of smoke. The inside has a pool table, a long bar and some booths. The food menu consists of classic pub food such as nachos, buffalo chicken dip, wings, chili and burgers. All of the food that I've had here is fine, but not up to Asheville food standards. That's OK though, this is the type of place where people go here for this consistency and knowing that Westville Pub is the same all of the time. read more
