I have decided on Westwood Cleaners as my regular place for this service. I live in New York City. My elderly father lives in suburban Washington, D.C., and I have to check on him. My job obliges me to dress up, even post-pandemic. So I have a stash of shirts I keep in this neighborhood. Westwood is competent. They are efficient. They notify you via text when the job is done. Although I selected them based on the ease of walking there from where I stay, there were two options in the vicinity. Westwood had the better ratings on Yelp. I was satisfied. I have no reason to go elsewhere. I don't have more to report, because a dry cleaner is utilitarian. I want to be a regular. This is where I will do that. I'll post again if anything changes. read more

We've been going here for a few years and the service is so hit or miss we just can't do it anymore. Multiple times have they essentially ruined clothing and done nothing to rectify the situation. And when we ask them about problems associated with the dry cleaning, they typically are rude and refuse to even try to help. Would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I recently lost weight and I had some newly purchased belts I now needed adjusted to fit properly. Vicki was so very helpful and attentive, she did a top-notch job of fixing the belts so now I don't have to throw them away and they look great! read more

Been going here for years. I have always had a great experience, and I fully trust them with all my garments. They have dry cleaned garments worth $10, all the way to $1,500, and I am always happy with the results. I also have had a few zippers and buttons repaired, while having my clothes cleaned, which is super convenient. Prices are a little high, but so is the rent in this area, so I can't really argue too much. I appreciate that it's a family business, and that they always do a superb job! I've been using Westwood for over 20 years. The quality of their workmanship is second to none. If you invest in fine clothes and footwear, this is the only place you should trust their care to. I just picked up my last order at Westwood Cleaners. I've been coming here for months, since moving back to the DMV, and I have to admit, the clothes always come out fine. BUT . . . they're super-expensive (I just paid over $8 per sweater in this order), they're slow (it always takes about 5 days) and no-one has ever seemed happy to help me. I'm tired of seeing nasty people, unhappy to be working, and asking me for too much money. I'll be shopping around for a new cleaners. read more

Used Westwood Cleaners for the first time recently, and will not return. Took several sweaters in on Saturday, Oct 27 and was told they'd be ready Thursday, Nov 1. I was nota in a rush, though thought that was a bit slow. But I went in Friday morning, Nov 2, and had to wait - only person in line - 8-10 minutes to be served at the counter. Three customers were already at the counter - everyone had an issue - either problem with what they had(or were having cleaned)(not necessarily Westwood's fault), or items missing from what they had brought in for cleaning. (Westwood's fault). One customer at the counter was there talking to employee when I walked in - and he dealt with them the entire 8-10 minutes. When they left, he served me - he apologized for the delay, but it was too late as far as I was concerned. Customer at middle employee was missing item from cleaning she had brought in - bunch of people were looking for it. And third customer had multiple orders, questions, they kept her and counter employee occupied entire time while I waited. Rather than asking customer(s) to step aside so they could find out what I was there for, they kept me waiting 8-10 minutes. Took no more than a minute to service me once I reached the counter. I almost left, but figured this could repeat itself if I left and returned. Not a good way to treat customers, and no doubt I can fin dry cleaner who does not inconvenience customers this way. read more

Westwood Cleaners came highly recommended by many people. We have been their customers for over seven years. But for the past 11 months their service and quality has deteriorated. Their customer service has gotten terrible. They ruined three of my shirt and two of my wife's tops, twice. Instead of apologizing; the blamed us. Very annoying plus way too much nuisance. read more

I needed repair on a very nice briefcase - the latches were not working properly. Westwood Cleaners did a beautiful job of fixing it, and it now works like new. They were very courteous, and repaired it very promptly. read more

My family and I have used Westwood for YEARS. It is a wonderful, family owned business that takes quality very seriously. They are worth the wait and price and wouldn't trust my items to any run of the mill chain cleaners. I've used them for dry cleaning services as well as shoe repair. There have been times that I thought that there was no way that some of my shoes could be fixed, but they have brought some of my worst conditioned boots back to life. I have been using Westwood Cleaners for years after trying many different cleaners. Westwood can fix and clean anything. If you have a stain they can clean it. If you need shoe repair they will make your shoes look new. If your rug needs cleaning they can do it. They have never let me down. I have a white heirloom table cloth with embroidery that was stained with wine, soy sauce and small drops of candle wax after the holidays. I took it to Westwood at the suggestion of my son. They did an incredible job. The linen came back like new! Pressed, starched, no stains and the color of the embroidery was even brighter and prettier than before. Thank you Westwood! I had 3 pairs of Dressports that needed to be resoled. The workmanship and pricing at Westwood was high quality and competitively priced. More importantly, I found Garbis to be extremely professional and helpful. There was a minor misunderstanding on the repair but Garbis was gracious and understanding and gave me the benefit of the doubt. I must commend Westwood on their customer service. read more

They came recommended to me by two locals. I would not recommend them especially considering the various other dry cleaners in the area. They consistently take an unusually long time to get your dry cleaning done. On average they request 7 days if not longer. They have now given me another person's clothing, lost an article of my clothing and requested an extension to the time they originally said it would take to get the job done. I don't think its worth the price or the service. Extremely unreliable. read more

I can't say enough great things about this dry cleaners! I have been doing business with them for over 15 years and their service is exceptional. My clothes always come back perfect and on time (we do pick-up service). The owner is professional and takes pride in his business and his customers. Moths. Beware. I brought home some woolen clothing and soon after noticed a clothing moth infestation. Moth traps confirmed it. The next time I was in Westwood Cleaners, I saw a clothing moth flying around and alerted the manager. He assured me that they do not have moths. I suggested that he get traps to confirm it. He continued to refuse to accept that this might be a good measure to ensure they do not. I sent a follow up email asking if he had reconsidered and did not receive a response. I sure could be wrong that the moths in my house came from this store but even the possibility that the store has an infestation should have inspired the manager to take steps. On top of the usual indifferent to rude counter service, I wont be going back. read more

Today, a very cold day, while I was in the store an elderly gentleman came in distraught that he had gotten paint on what seemed to be his only coat and on the upholstery of his car The manager went out of his way to help the man with his problems. I tried Westwood because they came recommended. Brought in three important items, a formal (floor length) dress; 2 small area rugs, and curtains from my daughters room. They did a nice job with the gown (packaged it well for preservation). However, the curtains came back shredded and the rugs were shrunk and ruined. Very frustrating, but worse, they accepted the items to begin with without telling me they were risky, and they handed them back to me without acknowledging the damage -- only found out when I unwrapped them at home. read more
