My wife and I loved her frozen Banana Colada. Their secret to whipping the drinks so high is that they blend their frozen drinks with a nice dose of mayo - who'd a thunk it? We also enjoyed a heaping and tasty serving of fresh Chips & Guacamole at the bar. The bartenders (Luis & Kern) were fun and friendly. I went on a cruise with some friends a few weeks ago. It was my first time, but they'd been to Cozumel a few times and kept raving about this place. Needless to say we went straight to Wet Wendy's once we got off the ship. The margaritas were out of this world and the bartenders were so fun, friendly, and hospitable. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing since it's a little off the beaten path. My first margarita was consumed on an empty stomach, so I ordered some chicken tacos to settle my gringa ass down. It was only 11AM, after all. As expected, the tacos were fresh and delicious. I had a lot of tequila afterwards, so I don't remember the distinct details of the food. I do remember that our bill was $60 USD for 6+ margaritas and 4 meals. Can't beat that! If you want delicious, strong, authentic margaritas- skip Señor Frogs and get to Wet Wendy's! read more

Clara and Chad, the original owners of Wet Wendys and later the Thirsty Cougar catered our wedding down here on our island. Our family still talks about the cucumber/jalapeño margaritas that we had at the wedding and every night prior to and after. Two amazing people who poured their hearts into these two businesses. We were here often (about 45 days a year) and watched their little hut grow into a large place and then branch into a second location. That wedding eventually produced the baby that these things tend to bring so we had a five year hiatus from our island, but Wet Wendys was one of our first stops when we brought our little angel to see our favorite place. It was sad to find Clara and Chad have sold and returned to Hungary. With them went....something. We've stopped in twice for our favorite marg's but we both agree there is something missing. Either the veggies are coming from a different place or the recipe has changed. Music is still good, food seems the same but our magic Cozumel bullet is missing it's zip. I visited twice during my stay in Cozumel. During the my visit, Lime Margaritas were $78 pesos. There was advertising for 2 for $100, but we didn't get that pricing and I'm not sure if that's only for certain hours. The first night the bar was pretty slow, and we enjoyed some great and pretty strong margaritas. A few nights later we went back, and they had a fantastic live band and the place was pretty crowded with locals and tourists alike. Alas, the second visit produced near undrinkable margaritas. The inconsistency brings the place down a level. For the best margaritas around, take a stroll down calle 5 to Casa Cuzamil. read more

We were planning on coming here before we left the States, but as we walked toward the restaurant we were greeted by a gentleman asking if we were looking for Andres(sp?). It turns out that he was Andres, a very friendly guy cracking jokes and providing us with excellent service the entire evening. The margaritas need to be seen (and tasted) to be believed, as they are bigger-than-your-head huge and require their own plate as you probably won't be able to suck down the frozen mixture before the Mexican heat gets to it, and it melts down the side of the glass. They also provide spoons as they are so thick it's more like eating dessert first (but life is short, and you're in the Caribbean, so why not?). See pictures for the specialty margs - our party of five had the CCP (unique and refreshing), the Very Berry (tart and sweet), the Elvis (knocked my blue suede shoes off, unexpectedly delicious), the key lime pie (super accurate), and a non-alcoholic Mango Mint (nice accompaniment to the seafood chili rellaños, which, proven by the sweat coming off my dad's forehead, were quite spicy). The food was delicious - a shrimp burrito, a chicken burrito, the chili rellaños and two orders of the half verde/half rojo chicken enchiladas made all of us very happy. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, but I'm learning this is the standard in Mexico. They also had some good American rock n' roll playing. Overall, very pleased at the service and food and had there been more patrons present (we like to go into town after the cruise ships leave) that place certainly would have been lively. read more

We had one of the best nights of our 15 day trip here! The live Salsa music was truly great, the service was spot on and they even convinced my fiancé and I to dance with them! Seriously! Wet Wendy's is very fun. The food is decent, not the best but not bad. I'm a minor, so I can't drink, but they looked good lol. The sprite is good! The location is also pretty good. It's in the middle of a cluster of shops and activities. My brother and I explored the area and we got hennas and I got my hair braided. The coolest thing is that you can write your name in the walls!! It's so exciting to go back and see your name every time you go. It's also fun to look for friends names and other peoples. read more

I am tempted to give this place three stars or less . It is an American bar in Coz where typical Americans hang out. People only talk to the people in their group and are generally unfriendly. The place is nothing special - a nice dive bar. However, the drinks are great (cucumber jalapeño marg es bueno). We also had the Veracruz grouper which was superb. I'm super disappointed. Not only were the drinks "eh", but they refused to take American dollars in Cozumel of all places. The manager yelled at us that they only take pesos, to which we explained we did not have and American cash was all we had on us (even though American dollar bills are stapled all over the bar). I told them if they wouldn't take our money they were welcome to call the police and all of the sudden they accepted American dollars. Remember, this was after being yelled at and intimidated. I will definitely never come again and do not recommend this bar for other Americans. I would give negative stars if it were an option. read more

The service was excellent and friendly (5 stars), but we went primarily for the margaritas. We ordered a mango/mint frozen margarita that was very good (4.5 stars), and a classic frozen margarita (1 star) that unfortunately tasted very bland. For the price, $223M (around $13 + tip), I'd say it was A-OK, but I'm not sure I could go up to I'm a Fan. Seriously though, I can't recommend the servers enough, they were great! One quick tip- I thought about paying with credit card, as they accept credit and USD, and list their price, but it would have been $17, a 12/1 exchange rate.
