Specialties
Wet Wendy's Margarita House and Restaurant in Cozumel Mexico has built a reputation for giant, delicious Margaritas that don't leave you sober and are made with no mixes. You pair that with the best Chile Relleno in the Yucatan or perhaps our signature Blackened Chicken Mango Chipotly Burrito, or perhaps a delicious 10oz Black Angus Burger with Applewood Smoked bacon and manchego and you got yourself a date....uh, with yourself. In the evenings we host a great variety of music (generally live salsa, rock and jazz), events and special occasions in our plaza in front of the stage. If you have a group in need of a custom menu and decorations, we do that too. In the end, our mission is to make sure every customer leaves happier than when they came in. We look forward to having you as a guest and don't hesitate to let us know how to make your stay better!
History
Established in 2005.
Originally Wet Wendy's Margarita House was a wooden cart that served as a bar and a fajita grill. Since then a jewelry/gift store was added, then more space for tables and retail and in 2010 we tore the whole thing down and built what you see now and took over the whole plaza. At it's start it was run exclusively by it's owners Chad and Klara Gustafson, then as time went on they saw the need to add people in the kitchen (Carlos), store and hire their first full time manager (Frank from Chicago). So, we started with 2 and now have 18 employees. We've gone from two plastic tables in front of a 7 stool bar into our Plaza with capacity for over 100 and 25 at the bar.
Meet the Business Owner: Chad G.
Originally from a lot of interesting and uninteresting places in the USA, Chad has lived a quarter of his 41 years on the island of Cozumel. Professionally he had a career as a professional pianist and music director until he me the love of his life on a cruise ship, talked her into moving over from Hungary and the two of them started a life. They moved down and bought a tiny bar in 2005 and have never looked back. Chad still plays jazz at the bar and around town when not working on their two businesses. He does the numbers, projecting, marketing, design and all tech for both businesses. Also, he and Klara have two kids who have been raised completely on the island. Yes, they all have different accents ;-)
