Yum yum yum! I drive 30 mins to get to this location to eat their perfect yummy warm soft and just rightly baked pretzel, and the jalapeño cheese with the right consistency. Thank you Kim and her staff for the perfect pretzel when I am craving one. =) Worth the calories. :)) Note: I have a wetzel pretzel that opened right close to me, but I am disappointed with their pretzel quality after trying it twice already. I did review them to hopefully get the attention of the manager/location. I am going to stick to my favorite store in Mission Viejo to satisfy my cravings. =)

Original Pretzel with Butter and Salt with Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese Dip, yummy

Who doesn't like Wetzel's Pretzels? They are delicious! I would go out of my way to come here. Sometimes you're walking around the mall and you just need a snack break and pretzels are just perfect. Did you know they have dessert here too? I usually get their Original Pretzel with Butter and Salt, sometimes with Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese Dip. Sometimes I get their Wetzel Dog instead, both are amazing. But when I want dessert, I'll go for their Cin-a-Bitz, oh man, this is amazing. Their Frozen Lemonades are also good. I think I also need to try their Sinful Cinnamon Pretzel sometime too, probably similar but with different feel. Ok but really who am I kidding, call it a snack but eating a whole pretzel by myself is basically a meal for me so I usually share it. Honestly, I don't know which one tastes better, Wetzel's Pretzels or Auntie Anne's. I think I would have to do a side by side comparison to really know, both are just that good. I usually just get whatever I see first. I think in the past, over a decade ago, Auntie Anne's was better by far, but now, I don't know if both stores recipes have changed/improved because they both taste good to me. This one is located on the first floor near J.Jill and Dick's Sporting Goods at The Shops at Mission Viejo. There are many free parking lots and structures for the mall. The closest place to enter and park to get here would be next to Cheesecake Factory. There are two Wetzel's locations at this mall, the second one is on the second floor. Price has definitely gone up over the years but I still think it's fair accounting for inflation and similar in price to Auntie Anne's. Service is friendly and quick. There wasn't much of a wait to order on a Sunday around 2 PM, maybe one to two parties ahead of me. Food comes out piping hot which I love. The concept is cute, it's like a cute small food vendor looking stand.

Pepperoni pretzel with cheese sauce, my favorite!

I love the pepperoni pretzels here very much because they are delicious. Cheese sauce with pepperoni pretzels are my favorite things to eat here.

    Automatic tip they added.

We bought a single classic pretzel and a cheese dip and paid with ApplePay. I heard the guy say $6 something as the total. We wouldn't have even checked to see how much we were actually charged, but there was some confusion about whether we had ordered a drink or not, so I dug the receipt out of my pocket. I saw that we were charged $8.25 because of an automatic $1.48 tip that was added on without our knowledge. It wasn't even an iPad to checkout. Just the small black ApplePay touch device. They never even gave us an option not to tip. We didn't bother going back to fight over $1.48, but it's really not cool to add on over 20% tip without the customer's knowledge.

They have dog bites for sale now. If you have a dog, you can indulge your dog in a small hot dog with a pretzel covering over it. I think it might be 1/3 or 1/4 of the hot dog cut up into bits with the original pretzel covering it. Wow, your dog would be one lucky pooch if you bought one of these dog bites bags. I mean, I kind of envy your dog, lol. Somehow I think they'll do well with the bites bag. Friendly customer service and they ring you up quickly, accurately and professionally. I feel bad for them because their tip jar only has coins in it. Hope people might give them a little more. Times are tough now so I understand if people can't.

Food is ordered up front and beer is in the back bar area. The beers are all German and Belgian which is a nice change from most places. They have many styles of sausages and you can top them with any of their toppings. There's even vegetarian sausages so no one is left out. Belgian fries cooked 3 times is their other specialty served with a bunch of sauce options. There's an outdoor patio area and the bar area inside where most of the seating is. Their concept focused on gourmet sausages, Belgian and German beers, communal dining tables, and a relaxed social atmosphere. We came here with our group our friend and got to feast upon some dogs and wursts. One of the interesting features that have is that they carry exotic proteins such as alligators, rabbit, or rattlesnake in their links; but if you're more of a vanilla eater, than you're probably opt for the beef, pork or chicken flavored. Either way, make sure you pair it with any of their 10+ beers on tap and you'll for sure enjoy every moment of that bite. I ordered their cheddar bratwurst topped with pickled jalapenos and carmelized onions in a pretzel bun. The wurst was kind of the dry side but beer always helps. I do think sometimes that they over cook it which drys out all the delicious fat out of the links but I am here for drinks and a good time. Great spot to hang out for any type of gathering.

There is no seating available inside but there are some tables outside. We went on a weekend and tried to order 2 cinnamon pretzels. They didn't notify us until after we paid that they were out of those pretzels at the time and their solution was to have us either opt for a plain pretzel, an almond pretzel, or wait 10 minutes for them to make more. We asked if we could just change the order and pay the difference to upgrade to pretzel bites, but they were unable to do that. We ended up waiting for the fresh pretzels and they were very apologetic about it. Despite just being made, the pretzels were fairly hard and chewy. The texture made it seem like they had been sitting out for a while. It's an okay spot, but there are options that I'd rather go to first before picking this one.

We ordered the Sweet Almond Pretzel, Pepperoni Bites, plus both the cheese dip and marinara. The original pretzel was honestly the highlight of this visit. Since they were making them fresh for the T-Mobile promotion, it came out warm, soft, buttery, and reminded me why it's such a classic favorite. The Sweet Almond Pretzel was good, but we felt like it almost needed a dip to help balance the sweetness -- although adding one might have made it too sweet overall. It still had really nice flavor, just depends on your sweetness preference. The Pepperoni Bites were pretty much what you'd expect. They're solid, but definitely one of those items that can vary depending on freshness. When they're freshly made and not sitting, they're really good. Overall, it was a great midday snack -- perfect for that in-between lunch and dinner craving. The staff was helpful and friendly, and Auntie Anne's is always a staple for us whenever we're craving pretzels.

Only salted pretzels bits were in the case so I requested for unsalted pretzel bits but the cashier hesitated because they are closing at 8:00 pm but Faith was in the back busy filling a Cinnabon order happily volunteered to make some for me and proceed to do so with no attitude. Nowadays, no matter where you go customer service seems lacking. It's refreshing to see somebody like Faith that cares about customer service!! I would have walked away if Faith didn't offer to make me some unsalted pretzels. But because of her, not only I stayed but are willing to come back. The lid conveniently had a hole on top so I could snack on a couple on the drive home. They were a great recommendation. I really enjoyed those buttery-salty, bite-sized pretzels.
