They'll take their time while spending more time chatting to each other about who knows what over the customers. They won't skimp on anything or mess up your orders, but I just feel like they're dragging their feet by that time after a busy day of slinging ice cream. But beyond that, quality & value is on par with every other Cold Stone location you've been to. Cold Stone now has a NEW Creation to try, called Birthday Cake Oreo Celebration and I decided to try it after they Rewarded My Account with a coupon! I arrived at the location and when I walked in, I noticed a STRONG URINE SMELL and when I looked to my right, the bathroom door was open. (Picture attached) so that threw me off. I let the guy know I was there to pick up my online order and he said he would begin working on it right away. He must of thought I said "Karen" because he started making a creation using Mint Ice Cream. I looked and said, "What flavor is that?" He responds, "Mint." I said, "Is that mine?" I could tell he hesitated before responded, "You said for Karen right?" I said "No, for Frankie." He apologized and showed me the refrigerator where he already had mine ready to go! I grabbed my ice cream and headed out. As far as the Flavor of the Birthday Cake Oreo Celebration (It comes with Birthday Cake Oreo Ice Cream, Oreo Cookies and Rainbow Sprinkles with Oreo Cookie Frosting), it was okay. We got 1 topping each but only got 1 Oreo crushed in with the ice cream. It wasn't well mixed in and the ice cream itself was pretty soft and kinda melted. We ended up crushing more Oreos at home, mixing it in, and re-freezing the ice cream before eating it. Overall, extremely overpriced and not worth it. Probably won't come back. read more

Hot sunny day, we really wanted some ice cream. As we entered the door, there was heavy mold smell. A few steps into the place, I noticed the floor was dirty and sticky, there were crumbs and stains all over the place. The walls were gross, too. Also, there was no shade in front of the place for us to sit on a sunny hot day and sitting inside was absolutely unacceptable due to the unsanitary condition of the place. We walked out without getting anything and drove 15-20 mins to another Cold Stone location (clean and cool). No way was I going to buy food from a place this dirty, gloomy, and saturated with mold smell. I highly doubt they will pass a sanitary inspection. This place is a health hazard. Ok... I love Cold Stone, but this experience was terrible. We arrived at 9:48 tonight and it looked closed but the door opened when we tried it. We joked with the guy and girl who came out, that we were sorry but he graciously said we had 10 minutes, and we appreciated that. I ordered French vanilla. When I put my spoon in it, it was soft and melted and ran down the side of my bowl. I told this to the girl taking my money and she suggested a lid. I asked for a bigger cup to put it in due to the mess. I went over the kid now making my granddaughter's as I was ready to cancel it if it was the same, but he said the chocolate was more frozen because it recently came out of the freezer. I said to him and the girl that mine was soupy and shouldn't be. The girl suggested I put a lid on it and put it in the freezer at home and eat it later. My granddaughter needed a bigger bowl too as hers was running over the side. After I paid, I turned to them both and said, "honestly you guys, this is terrible." Customer service for Coldstone is a voicemail service where they call you back the following day( doesn't include weekends), when 90% of birthday parties are on. So I'm waiting to see what they say if they call me back on Monday. The receipt email says at the bottom to modify or change the order to call the store, but not even the Store Manager knew what to do, even though they tried and were very helpful, my ice cream cake is literally sitting outside on my doorstep because I couldn't change the delivery time 1 hour later... My only solution was to cancel my order and resubmit the order, but the delivery time had to be within 24 hours and I was less than 24 hours when given that option, nice right..? read more

I recently went in on a Sunday night about an hour before closing. As soon as I got there I noticed the line was almost out the door. There were 2 people working, a guy and a girl, and at least 12 people in line ahead of me with even more people coming in behind me. Literally the line did not stop and was near the door the entire time I was there. The 2 people that were working did GREAT! They greeted people when they saw them walk in, and they were clearly working as quickly as they could and being sure to keep things clean at the same time. I ordered a Cookies & Creamery birthday cake online from this Cold Stone Creamery location for my daughter. It is not local to us but close to where my parents live. When I picked it up, it looked exactly like I ordered - with the lettering and an Oreo on top. When we cut into the cake after blowing out the candle, however, my daughter was incredibly saddened to see that the cake was not what she wanted. Instead of chocolate cake, it was vanilla cake. And instead of Oreo ice cream, it was chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. She was deflated but ate it anyway. It's not like we could return a cut ice cream cake, so we made the best of it so as not to ruin the birthday celebrations. The next day, I called the store after dinner and asked to speak to a manager. The employee who I spoke with (Austin) told me that the manager had just left and that I should visit the store the following day to discuss the issue with the owner. So I followed his instructions and drove from Irvine to Mission Viejo after work yesterday, only to discover that the manager/owner was again not there. To top it off, the employee I discussed my problem with seemed to have very little motivation or clue how to resolve customer service issues. She said they had they type of cake I was looking for, but the best she could do was to write another order. She suggested that I come back yet again, before 5:30 PM (I told her that was not possible because I work too), or to call the owner myself (who she would not call because she was instructed to call only for emergencies). I now had an extra sad child in the car, who expected to get the right cake two days after her birthday, and I was particularly annoyed that the store was left with no one who had any authority to solve problems. So I decided I'd call the owner, Chuck, myself. Thankfully, Chuck is a reasonable man. Even though I called him just after he had reached home, he listened to me and resolved the problem immediately. He called the store employee himself and told her to give us the cake, and that he would take care of the accounting for it the next day. And even more thankfully, when we cut into the replacement cake, it was exactly what it was supposed to be, and it was delicious. It was a 2 star experience, but Chuck made things right in the end. Hopefully, in the future, his employees will be empowered to provide similarly great customer service without having to bother him out of hours. read more

They advertise vegan milkshakes, but they never have almond milk, and the staff literally doesn't know the difference between almond milk, and ice cream made from almond milk. When we called on the phone, the girl who appears to be the only one working right now said that they definitely had almond milk. The reason we called was that a month ago, we drove there only to find that they didn't have it. Today, upon arriving , and after making it very clear that I wanted a vegan milkshake, with all ingredients vegan, this chick asked if it was alright if she used "normal" milk, as in dairy milk, because "we're out of almond milk." Are you kidding me??? When asked to call another local cold stone to see if they have the necessary ingredients, she had a blank stare, and said she didn't have any phone numbers. Guess she doesn't understand anything about customer service, or how easily she could've looked up a friggin phone number, for her own company for godsakes! Oh, and she also said she can't remember the last time they had almond milk, so that's lovely. GREAT management... This cold stone is a smaller shop but that does not decrease the quality. The workers were very knowledgeable and helpful when we wanted to decide what we were ordering. They are very efficient so we walked in and even though there were a few people ahead of us we got our ice cream very fast. The workers were also very welcoming as you walk in. There is not much else to say since the flavors and Mix in's are all the same for all the stores. another sidenote is that if you are looking to create your own ice cream then they will help you with what toppings taste best and which ice cream.
