Upstairs space decorated for the holidays
    Annabelle L.

We had our work holiday party here for about 60 people last week at in their upstairs space, and it was absolutely FABULOUS. I had reached out online and Nikki, the co-owner, was prompt in responding with packages and options. I had shopped around with almost every restaurant in Bay Shore and their packages were the most reasonable. Communication with Nikki was seamless and easy. Booking required an upfront deposit, headcount was due 2 weeks before the event, and rest of the payment was due 1 week beforehand. We had the buffet style and got: -Choice of 3 cold platters: chopped iceberg salad, spinach salad, and orzo salad -Choice of one vegetable: grilled vegetables with balsamic glaze -Choice of starch: garlic mashed potatoes -Choice of pasta with an add-on pasta: penne ala vodka, orecchiette with sausage and broccoli -Choice of 2 hot entrees: bulgogi beef, seafood paella with an add-on salmon -Choice of 1 dessert: seasonal bread pudding The day of, I arrived about an hour early and set up was super easy as the upstairs is already gorgeously decorated for the holidays. The wait staff were already ready and very helpful in helping me bring in items. The sound system had Christmas music on already and they had set up part of the room with extra white linen tables for our white elephant activity and a DIY photobooth (which I brought). The entire event was wonderful and our group had a wonderful time. Every dish we got was INCREDIBLE and so tasty. There isn't a single dish that wasn't perfectly cooked and seasoned. My favorites were the the bulgogi beef, paella, salads, the orecchiette (but I'm a sucker for this dish), and bread pudding. The team was also very kind with dietary restrictions, putting meat/dairy salad toppings off to the side, and making vegetarian and vegan bibimbap bowls. Of note, their korean dishes are SPECTACULAR as Nikki's mom, Helen, is korean! Can't wait for next year's party and many of my team members are now interested in hosting their own parties here! Highly highly recommend!

Love this spot for a casual lunch or dinner with family or friends. It gets busy so I recommend a reservation. It's one of my favorite water spots, and perfect for the summer time. My go-to are the Ceviche, Calamari, Korean Lettuce Wraps, and the Pan-Seared Scallops. The Ceviche is always amazing! Easily one of the best apps on their menu. The Calamari is well battered and seasoned with sweet chili. I love the Pan Seared Scallops - the figs, grits, and bacon give it a well-rounded taste of sweet and savory. This is one of my favorite seafood spots in Bay Shore (there are others) and one I visit often in the summer time. I recommend popping by if you're in the area, especially when the weather is warm out!

Great view and good food make this place a must try! We celebrated my friend graduating with her masters degree and chose Whalers because it was on the water and we are suckers for a good view. The calamari was the best I have ever had. Perfectly crisp and clearly fresh- not rubbery at all. Came with a delicious take on thai chili sauce. I got a ceasar salad as my entree since it was hot and I wanted something refreshing. I was disappointed that there was no way to get grilled chicken for my salad so I ordered a side of their spicy chicken. It definitely had no place being in a cesar salad but the chicken was still good so I ate them seperately. I got a side of whalers fries which have a nice kick to them and the table enjoyed sharing those! My dessert was phenomenal. I got the bread pudding and it was absolutely perfect. Served with vanilla icecream and caramel drizzle. I will definitely be back. I have to get the calamari and bread pudding again! Service was great too.

First, I'll start with the ambiance, beautiful decor with beachy vibes. They have outdoor seating for the summer right by the water, and the setting is absolutely stunning. The service is really good. From the moment you walk in, the staff is pleasant, and the waiters are accommodating. Overall, the service is superb. The drinks are good as well. I originally ordered a glass of wine, but if you're a "wine person," I'd probably stick to the cocktails or sangria. The red sangria was especially tasty, not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. For food, my husband enjoyed his seafood fra diavolo with linguini. I ordered the pan seared scallops with grits, scallops, and bacon. The sides were delicious, but the scallops themselves weren't my favorite. My daughter is 9 and a picky eater, but she loved her chicken tenders and fries. The desserts were on point. The apple pie wontons, chocolate cake, and bread pudding were all perfect, I would definitely order them again!

Tuna tartar and whipped feta. The tuna was the best dish but the feta was close!

Waterfront dining on a spacious, covered deck, great service and innovative food makes this one of my favorite restaurants. An added bonus is that this is the most accessible restaurant on Long Island. Wheelchair, scooter and walker users, this is a place that cares about you. I highly recommend you visit.

I came here for a early birthday lunch and this place has been on my list of restaurants for quite some time and was happy I finally got a chance to check them out. This place is located in Bayshore off the water and is a beautiful place to come in the summer and enjoy outdoor eating. I came in the cold winter, but It was located in Bayshore right off the water and the food was amazing. Also a great to cater venues on top of the restaurant. The Thai calamari was one of the best calamari's I had in a long time. When I say it was cooked to perfection the calamari was like butter. Cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My wife ordered the fillet mignon sandwich with fries and I ordered the chicken katsu sandwich. Both very good and flavorful. We also did bottomless mimosas. Overall the staff here were amazing, and the food was 10/10. I can't wait for warmer weather to enjoy the outside seating but definitely a great place to come for special occasions or date night. I highly recommend if you're looking for a different place to eat with good vibes.

I've been here before for brunch but never reviewed. This place is super cute all beach themed. Dined outside on the deck for my birthday. The weather was perfect and Sebastian our server was fantastic. The margaritas were yummy and the food was fresh & tasty. Will def be back.

My son made a reservation, so when we arrived we were seated right away. Outside as requested. However!! Every time someone walked by the floor shook. after about 5 minutes I couldn't take the bouncing around. We asked to move tables and they an accommodated us. It was much better sitting on the tables on the outer of the patio. Everyone was very nice and our food and drinks were very good. We will be back.

Came here yesterday for lunch around 11am. The food was really good. I got a rose martini and was delicious. We split wings - garlic soy & buffalo. They were good. We also ordered shrimp dumplings for the table, I didn't like but my husband did. For lunch I got a tuna poke bowl. Huge portion for 25$ and I couldn't finish It. Service was a little meh. They forgot to give my friend a spoon and had to ask 2-3 times for one for his soup . I would come back if I'm in area

In the mood for seafood, a friend and I decided to check out Whalers in Bay Shore. It was a gorgeous Thursday night, perfect weather for sitting out on their dock. We started off with cocktails. I tried the coconut margarita which was phenomenal, and I'll be day dreaming about it for days to come. For an appetizer we split the steamed pei mussels, the garlic crostini was yummy! For an entree I went with the seafood fra diavolo, which was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of sauce and spice. The waitstaff were great. We went on a Thursday night, so there wasn't a big crowd but overall the food and service was stellar and I have no complaints. I can't wait to go back!

What's the point of waterside dining if there's barely any outdoor seating? That entire upstairs room should have a retractable roof for nice weather if you want my opinion. But anyway on to the horrific parking. There is a parking lot but not nearly enough spaces to accommodate both restaurants that utilize it and there's no street parking close by so that was a total nightmare. There's also parking attendants but idk why, they weren't helping with anything. Anyway, on to the food and drinks. I got two cosmos and the coconut espresso martini-which was good but not all that coconutty. For food, my friends and I split a bunch of things-wedge salad, brussel sprouts, truffle mashed potatoes, whipped feta dip, Korean beef lettuce wraps (that were supposed to be chicken), truffle mushroom gnocchi, dumplings and the ice cream cookie sandwich for dessert. The highlights were definitely the truffle mashed potatoes and gnocchi. They were so flavorful and creamy. The feta dip was far too salty for me and the lettuce recipe were supposed to be chicken but they were still tasty but the kimchi tasted like it went bad though-I know it's supposed to be sour but I eat kimchi and that did not taste normal to me. Wedge salad was basic-I would have skipped that but my friend wanted it. The dumplings and sprouts were pretty good too. The dessert tho, it's hard to say. It was good in theory but the cookies were so darn hard we needed a steak knife to cut them so I'm guessing these sandwiches are pre frozen rather than made to order where the cookies would have been edible. It's pretty pricey also but our server was very nice.

My bf and I snagged a last min. Reservation on a Friday night. We had been talking about this place for a while. Here's how it went.... We were warmly greeted by a hostess named Gianna! What a sweet girl. Our table wasn't ready but she gave us frequent updates as we enjoyed a cocktail by the bar with John. He crafted some delicious drinks and gave us some great recommendations. Spicy mango margarita A flavored martini (I think) We had the option of outside or upstairs dinning. We opted for upstairs bc the view and the decor is absolutely gorgeous. Our server Ryan was very pleasant. For apps we ordered the ceviche and the spicy salmon crispy rice. Both were dilcious I prefer a little kick so added some hot sauce to the ceviche and a little extra spicy Mayo to the salmon. Lately, we've been sharing a dish when we go out bc I can never finish what I order and rarely eat it after. We had the coconut cod and it did not disappoint! So flavorful! The vegetable base had apples in it and omg TOP Tier! We didn't have desert. Will be back for more cod .

It's the food for me. The food is good and that's all I need. The ambiance is causal seafood, very New England wharf feeling. Our server was polite and gave some good suggestions on things to try. But the food is the highlight here and it made me happy. I had the Whaler's Chopped Salad and it was everything. It's a must try. Portion was huge (ate remainder for dinner). The mix of avocado, lobster, Parmesan cheese, bacon bits, boiled eggs, kale-yum yum yum. I can't wait to try it again. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

The Vidalia onion soup was honestly the best onion soup I've ever had, and I'm a huge onion soup fan. The crab cake bites were among the best crab cakes I've had anywhere, which is saying a lot because I've spent years searching for great crab cakes. I also loved the maple bacon mac and cheese, which struck a perfect balance between sweet and savory. My daughter enjoyed the Georgia wings and sweet potato fries with a marshmallow dipping sauce. Everything was packed with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive. I had the Georgia-themed Old Fashioned, while my daughter tried the Guy Fieri-inspired Georgia margarita. Both were creative, well-balanced, and memorable. As a mobility disabled person, accessibility is always important to me, and Roadtrip did very well. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant with an accessible route to the entrance. Inside, the aisles are wide, the seating is flexible with movable chairs, and the restroom is fully accessible. The only thing keeping it from a perfect accessibility score is the lack of automatic doors. Food: 11/10 Cocktails: 10/10 Accessibility: 9/10 Roadtrip Bayshore earns my highest recommendation. The premise of the…read morerestaurant is that every week they highlight a different U.S. state, creating entrées, appetizers and drinks that showcase the selected state's leading agricultural industries and cuisine the state is known for. The menu and food were excellent, there's truly something for everyone. We opted for the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, and our entrees were the Brisket Horseradish Stack and the Blue Summit Burger. The service was great - the wait staff, attentive. What unfortunately has left a lasting impression and may be the reason I don't go back is they're okay, and likely encourage (based on their IG) content creators to visit. I understand in this day and age, exposure means everything. Getting a viral video could mean the definition of sink or swim in a competitive industry. What's not okay is having content creators with their bright lights blinding the patrons next to them. Having a bright camera light shone in our faces several times through our dinner soured the experience. I hope in the future the staff, and the owner (who was there), are more conscious of the dining experience for others.

The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. The service was also just okay. Our waitress wasn't very personable. I ordered the Island Rum Punch, and it was terrible. When I mentioned that it didn't taste right, she explained they were out of one of the liquors that normally goes into the drink. She never offered to replace it or let me choose something else. Happy hour at the bar is from 12-7pm with the bar bites available after 4pm. The place is very nicely decorated and exudes an upscale but unpretentious vibe. I ordered a glass of the pinot noir which was tasty and at $6 a nice bargain. I got the chickpea fries and was surprised by the texture. It was almost custard like with a slight chickpea flavor in a very light breading. Served with the harissa aioli it made for a nice app. After a while I decided to try the Filet mignon sliders, which I ordered medium rare, the bartender said they don't usually take a temp on those but he'd note it. The meat is sliced very thin but was tender and still had a bit of red. The arugula gave it a nice peppery bite. My only critic is the slider roll was very cottony, but the overall taste was very good. I'll definitely be back and will try something off the regular menu.
