2 egg special. That biscuit was like eating cake it was so good

Stopped in a few times this week. Wonderful breakfast!!! I'm not sure how you could not make Friday night seafood buffet your go-to. Breakfast was 5 bucks as a 2 eggs special. Came with 2 eggs, biscuit (near cake LOL), Grits, and 4 sausage patties. So much food I skipped lunch. The Friday night seafood buffet is incredibly priced, and there are many options. Some of the best tender catfish filets I've had. The fried chicken on the buffet was worth the price alone!!! Excellent hushpuppies. I know that is odd to comment on, but they seem to be scratch made and are delicious. Fried oysters, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, crawdads, and some of the best fried clams I've tasted round out the hot bar. Salad bar to boot and a glass of tea for under 15 bucks.

If you love soul food, try out the Apalachee! The burgers are amazing! The service was excellent and the salad bar was super fresh. Has a true Southern Diner ambiance.

    Classic old school Southern food.

Bristol is small town Florida, and for most folks, the Apalachee Restaurant is a place you drive by while passing through headed to somewhere else. This is a good place to stop and take a break from behind the wheel and enjoy some friendly hospitality and good old school Southern cooking. Their buffet confirms that good Southern cooks take frying to an art form. The lunch buffet during my visit included deep fried salt pork slices, fried chicken, fried squash, and fried cornbread. All perfectly done. It wouldn't be dinner in the south without sides such as butter beans, greens, stewed tomatoes, rice and gravy. Iced tea, salad bar and a selection of desserts are included in the buffet price of roughly $10 & change. Good folks, good food, good value.

Sunday buffet with fried chicken, chicken and dumpling, and stuffed peppers.

The best chicken club sandwich I've ever had. Also they have house fries. They're thin and crunchy and I just really loved that.

The staff are super friendly and the food is good. I just wish it was cleaner... the ceiling vents especially. It's off- putting.

So, we meandered on over to this local eatery & were incredibly pleased by the choice to do so!! The ambience was comfy, relaxed, & immaculately neat & clean! Our server was the incomparable Carla, & she truly made the visit welcoming as well as sharing her awesome personality & chuckles throughout!! Hubby had the Grouper Sandwich "Quick Bite", accompanied by a side of cheesy grits & hush puppy, with the addition of a side of onion ring...complete with accompanying sauces. His sandwich was loaded with generous stack of blackened grouper fillets, cooked to tender, flavorful perfection; the onion rings were lightly breaded & golden brown with just the right combo of crispy outside & tender, sweet onion! I, myself had to go for the classic Shrimp & grits, with no skimping here!! Enough tasty; southern-seasoned, shrimp to allow for a reluctant moment to share my dish with Hubby!... cheese, crumbled bacon added to the deliciousnes! ( I still had leftovers to bring home!!) ... Make sure you don't miss out on the delectable hush puppies, which were so amazingly spot-on with their crunchy, outer yumminess & fluffy, flavorful inner nirvana experience!! Of course, the dessert menu options had to be perused, & the Chocolate caramel drizzle cake that my husband chose, had no chance at all of making it home with any leftovers! ( I think the only reason he didn't lick the plate, was his fear of getting caramel & chocolate painting his eyebrows!!) ... Ask Carla for the secret ingredient needed for baking that special cake!! Definitely will visit again when next in the area!!

First of all, out in the middle of no where, odd open times but BUSY BUSY when they are open. Take a seat if available and you will be greeted and treated by their sweet littlest family members who are ready to take your drink orders. Our server was excellent and ready to host and please her guests. They seem to be VERY accommodating with their menu and requests so any questions or concerns prior to ordering do ask, because they were very willing to please! I came in with the intention of ordering the all you can eat--which is mix and match!! but the server talked me out of it (I think she under estimated my ability to pound food) BUT she said if I chose to order more and upgrade later she would do that for me with no penalty. We had 6 in our party. Our drinks came quickly and without issue. They brought us one salad (forgetting another) and honestly the salads were small and disappointing (this is where they start losing some creds). Definitely more salad dressing than salad. It's odd they chose to use disposable containers and dinner ware--I feel like a lot of waste and overhead is lost here...I mean the salad comes in a plastic clear container, with dressing in plastic ramekin with lid and on styrofoam plate with two packs of crackers. Losing too much. Especially for three bites of salad. I ordered the "deviled crab" and grilled shrimp. It came with two hush puppies which I immediately gave away (I don't eat those at all), two sides; onion rings and cheese grits. Ya'll, those onions rings were ON POINT. Don't miss out on those if you stop in. They boast that everything is homemade and I believe it. The onion rings were perfect. The cheese grits were pretty yummy--I wish I tossed my grilled shrimp in them. So the deviled crab, if you've ever had this dish before--theirs is not it. What they truly have here is a homemade crab cake. It's not bad--I ate all mine--however my two gfs could not. They were so disappointed and turned off by the texture/color of the cake. The server noticed they weren't eating theirs and was adamant about bringing them replacement food--they finally agreed to take more fried shrimp which was also very yummy. Crab claws is a new dish for me on this Florida trip--they offer it grilled, fried or blackened and I will say the grilled crab claw was delicious! For the six of us; all ordered the seafood platters (combo of 2) our total was $130 so I'd say that's very reasonable. Definitely worth the stop!!

I always start by ordering an appetizer crab claws. They are usually big and you get about 16 of them. They were a little smaller today but still delicious. I do like their tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, which is on the table. The tartar sauce taste just like I would make it and the cocktail sauce has a little less horseradish than I would put in, but it's still very flavorful. The fried shrimp is excellent. My friend likes the sweet potato fries and I like their slaw. The crabcakes Were crabby and not too much bread. Today I had the fish sandwich which was a catfish fillet on a hoagie roll. It came with lettuce, tomato, onions, and dill pickle. The dill pickles were great and I don't like pickles. The catfish was perfectly tender, coated in cornmeal and fried. I always enjoy the trip up to Attapulgus and my service is always spot on. Oh the cheese grits were good. The only thing that I dislike is that the food comes on disposable plates and Styrofoam cups. But at least that way they don't have dishes to do. I'll come back again.
