Still worth the stop for delicious fried seafood. Don't let the prices deter you unless you are by yourself because there will be enough for at least 2-3 if not 4. This is a memorable stop for fried catfish for my wife so every so often we have to drive over from Tallahassee to satisfy her craving. It's small town simple on the outside and inside. It's one big dining room with lots of tables. They do have a sign out by the road which is an improvement post Hurricane Michael. Plenty of parking in an unpaved lot. We have always found the service friendly and efficient. I have found that if you are friendly then the wait staff wherever you go will also be friendly. The food comes out pretty quickly and hot. First ever table had garbage under the table. The waitress was playing with her face and hair without washing her hands. The fried shrimp was okay but only warm. The steak was not cooked properly and was grisly. They forgot my coleslaw all together.The waitress did not make eye contact and just threw the bill. Went by there today to eat. Wife been wanting to go there to eat for a while there was a sign on the front of the building saying they do not take credit cards, went in to ask about debit cards, they do not take them either. looked around just look like a regular dinner nothing special about it we did not have that much cash on hand, do not even carry cash much anymore, Wife was mad when we walked out said "that blew it with me I do not even want to go there now" I'm disable they did not even have a parking spot for disable made right so might report them on that. read more

We stopped by to grab a catfish sandwich. No sandwiches on the menu but they furnished us with white bread, onions, tomato (cubes not slices), mustard, ketchup, hot sauce and catfish. We furnished our own handprint on top of the sandwich. It was good. The sides that came with it were mediocre and we really did not need them. It's an old school place with lots of locals (apart from us). We split the food and for 10.99 you cant complain about that. The service was great, attentive and caring. read more

Oh my goodness this lil place is a gem! I had the small two-way platter which was the special of the day for $16.00 (not sure if it's every Tues or not) , I had the fried shrimp and fried clam strips with hush puppies, baked sweet potato and fried okra. Even though this was the small platter it didn't look like any small platter I've ever seen. Someone had heavy hands because I had a lot of seafood on my plate. This is the best seafood I've had all year, very fresh. I tasted my friends coleslaw and wanted to eat all of it. Needless to say we ordered a coleslaw to go. This lil place is awesome. We didn't know that you have to pay with cash or checks only until we started eating. They were nice enough to let us finish our meal and run to the bank to get cash to pay with. Have been only once & shared a plate of fried catfish fingers with my boyfriend. We got double sides of fries & cheese grits. Honestly it was my first time having catfish & the fingers were really good. The sweet tea was wonderful & the waitress just brought you what you needed without pestering. Gargantuan sized platters! My wife and I both ordered the "small" two-way platters. Hers had 14 shrimp, 14 oysters, 8-10 onion rings and cheese grits for $19. Mine had two catfish filets, with hush puppies, shrimp, fried okra and a baked potato. We are stuffed and are leaving with an entree sized to-go box each! Interior and exterior of building is very run down and unmaintained. But this is off the beaten path in the middle of nowhere. My husband and I have wanted to eat here for years but never seemed to be in the area at the right time. Tonight we had our opportunity. We shared the catfish fingers which were wonderful. We left with more in the take out box than we actually ate. I was not a fan of the side salad but we will return and I will order a different side. The servers were pleasant and attentive. I went here with about 15 members of my kayak club after a good days paddling on the Econfina Creek. Other club members highly recommended it. I had never been here or even heard of it. From the outside it looks seedily suspect but all those world food adventurers know that deliciousness awaits in so many places lacking the usual curb appeal. My dining experience was awesome. I had the combo of fried cat fish and grilled shrimp with sides of cheese grits and fried okra. My friends had all varieties of the seafood they offer and we LOVED it all!! The service was fantastic. Wait staff are top notch in ensuring you are treated right. It is cash only as others have pointed out so be advised and prepared . If you are in this area enjoying the great Florida outdoors like we were, come here afterwards for a really great seafood meal. My wife and I went there for dinner based on good reviews we'd read and heard. The oysters were the small frozen type and were served burned and was heavy with old grease. The fried okra was undercooked; the hush puppies and cheese grits were served cold. The boiled shrimp were the small frozen variety and were not good. The salad was lettuce, one slice of cucumber, one slice of tomato, and the dressing was in a foil pack. In 60 years, this was the worst meal I have ever been served at any restaurant and it wasn't cheap at $46. read more
