Wanted to try something better than Dunkin for my Friday morning commute. A friend of mine had bought me a pastry from them before, and it was great, so I thought I'd give it a shot seeing it was local and on my way to work. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back for a while, and here's why... I ordered about 15 minutes ahead. Website said it would take 20-25 minutes before it was ready. So I expected at max to wait 5-10 minutes when I got there. Instead it was a standstill at the drive thru with only two cars in front of me with one or two people in each. Let me tell you, I can usually arrive to work a half hour early on Fridays -that's including a stop at Dunkin WITHOUT ordering ahead. This place? I barely got to work on time!!! It took them an extra HALF HOUR from when I pulled up to the drive thru just to hand me ONE sandwich and ONE small latte!!! And my latte was literally just coffee, milk, and a pump of sugar!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I've worked these kinds of places before; I'm not making it up when I say I could've walked behind the counter and made it myself in half that time! I will say the staff was very friendly and apologetic, but EXTREMELY disorganized. The sandwich and coffee were good, but a little expensive and not worth the ridiculous wait time. Until management can find a better system, I will not be back here on my Friday morning commutes. Such a shame for a local spot with good food! read more

I love consistency and quality. If this is your goal, you will never be disappointed at What A Day. The tasty Hawaiian Italian Breakfast Sandwich is always made with fresh ingredients. The provolone, the bacon, the egg, meld great with the mustard aioli. The fabulous bread is top notch. What A Day's service is phenomenal. Often, I am told my points' balance and asked if I want to use them. From ordering to handing my bag through the window, the timing is always 5 minutes. My order is always accurate. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't comment on that. The new Winter Flavors intrigued me though. Leaving out the espresso, I tried the Smores in a Hot Chocolate version. It was good! read more

Our family met up for a late lunch. We stopped by at 1:30 on a Sunday and we're able to sit on the leather sofa and chairs and enjoy our lattes and food at the coffee table. I arrived 8am on Saturday and the place had a few people in it. Ordered a bagel sandwich and Latte. Latte was great but the sandwich was below average. The everything bagel the sandwich came in was like a store bought (Safeway) bagel small and more like a burger roll than a bagel. The sausage was good the cheese was perfect but the egg was dry and one of those premade eggs like you get at Dunkin. It did come out fast and hot. Second visit here, this time for lunch. The Avocado Goast was wonderful but a little messy to eat withut the (available) plastic cutlery. Coffee drinks have a large choice of flavors. Service was super-fast and prices are quire fair for what you get. I would hope to see a larger list of more imaginative lunch offering as "Whaddaday" gets more established. We tried the new What A Day Cafe during their first few weeks of opening. Usually new places need to work out their kinks, but NOT this cafe. The staff was friendly, cordial and working together as a cohesive unit. At a time when so many businesses are struggling to find help, let alone - good help, this cafe succeeded during our first visit. We ordered coffee, Avocado Goast (avocado toast with goat cheese) and a breakfast croissant with sausage, egg and cheese. Everything was served perfect to temperature. While we ate our meal, we observed the staff with every customer being just as polite and cordial. The interior is modern, clean, and uncluttered. There is a nice couch seating area. Also high top and regular tables too. We also saw a bookshelf with games and books to occupy guests who are inclined to do so. Business was brisk on a Friday morning. Went for the first time on a Sunday to pick up a baked goods bag on the Too Good To Go app. Easy to find and plenty of parking. The staff was very nice and the pastries were delicious! The bagel was dry and tasteless and the cream cheese was barely there. Their espresso machine was down. I absolutely love this place! I've been twice now and each time the coffee was delicious, and the food was really good, especially the breakfast sandwiches. They also have so many coffee flavor options, and even some options for those of us who prefer sugar-free, and not just vanilla constantly. They could run circles around Starbucks. We had the pleasure of visiting Whataday Cafe in Sykesville on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The staff is friendly and welcoming, putting a smile on your face right away. The coffee was great, the barista's recommendations help a lot because there are many choices. My partner had the Classic Breakfast Sandwich, and I loved my Ultimate Veggie Bagel--with avocado, as our server suggested. Went to the drive through and no one ever answered. Went inside to order since I was eager to try a new place. Ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant which turned out to be one of the worst I have ever had. Croissant was small and dry. Sausage was cold and looked like warmed over, mass produced sausage. They claim locally sourced fresh food, but this looked like gas station quality. I'm really rooting for this place because we just moved here and are looking for that local go-to cafe for a nice breakfast sandwich and coffee. The positives: friendly staff, fast service, good iced coffee. Plus they now have a drive thru. The negatives: Our breakfast sandwiches were not good. The croissant was dry and flavorless. The everything bagel was basically a plain bagel with no "everything" on it and just a sad looking bagel. I regret not taking a photo. The ham they use on the sandwich was half an inch thick, the eggs weren't served as scrambled, but instead cooked like a hard poached egg and looked/tasted funky. Just overall very sad breakfast sandwiches. I got the order to-go and the sandwiches should really be wrapped in foil to keep warm. I live 10 minutes away and by the time I got home they were lukewarm at best. Again I'm really rooting for this place to make some adjustments as I understand they're new. read more

I stopped into the Whataday drive thru for a post-workout latte and breakfast sandwich. I ordered the scrapple egg and cheese and the barista recommended the white chocolate hazelnut iced latte. Boy oh boy, that was good. The SEC on croissant sandwich was gooey, cheesy, melt in your mouth and finished before I made it home! What a day is a super cute little cafe that opened in our neighborhood not that long ago. When I say we greatly needed a place like this, it's not an understatement. This place is amazing!!!!! Please support this business. The owners are super friendly, they have merch for sale, lots of puzzles, games, books to read for little ones and adults while you eat. The food is delish, drinks are superb! The place is very clean. There are some leather couches and chairs to work and the music is soft and relaxing. Everything is reasonably priced! The baked goods come from a local bakery and are fresh and tasty! There are some tables outside underneath umbrellas as well. We had never been here before so we thought we would try it out since they have good reviews. We got coffee, hot chocolate and two sandwiches. The coffee was good but extremely hot. The hot chocolate was basically your average hot chocolate, nothing special. The monte cristo sandwich was not fried and had soggy bread. The sausage egg and cheese sandwich was not very good. We feel the sandwiches were not worth the cost. I feel that the sandwiches were ready too quickly to be good and were no better than the microwaved crap you can get at Dunkin' .
