Stopped into kismet cafe on a Sunday late morning. It was pretty busy inside. We placed our order at the counter for 2 bacon, egg, and cheese bagels. We had to wait about 15 minutes but it was worth the wait! My bagel was delicious. The everything bagel was soft and the bacon was crispy. The egg was kind of like a hotel egg but that was ok to me. The inside of the cafe is modern with about 7-9 tables and a small patio for warmer weather. There is also a restroom for customers. I would recommend this place! read more

I've been to many different places getting this drink but the Dirty Chai at Kismet cafe is by far the best! My daughters agree with me. Every time I go into this place, it is the most amazing thing that I have ever smelt! Normally, I am not the coffee type of guy, but there coffee is AMAZING!!! Love to grab lunch from Kismet GO when I'm in the area. Their salads are plentiful and they are generous with toppings. Their super fruit bowls are wonderful as well. I like to mix and match and they've given me some new ideas of which toppings go best with my selections. The staff is friendly and helpful. This should be interesting. So, I've been meaning to visit this place for a few months now. A friend of mine visited and raved about it. Day of visit... I walked in, checked out the menu and headed up to order. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Panini no cheese. Also ordered the Fresh Brewed Tea. I must say, everyone there was really nice and polite. They speak when they walk by and/ or if they happen to make eye contact. I love that! The environment was cool. The cafe is located in a shopping center at the corner which allows for outdoor seating and plenty of parking. They have a lot of stuff there. They sell bagels, sandwiches, soup, specialty beverages, reusable cups, freshly bagged coffee, you name it! They have a couple of those signs saying that time basically isn't of the essence. Everything's made to order. That's cool, but I never thought my panini would take 30 minutes, but it's ok. ... I had plenty of text messages and games to get updated on. Let me start with the panini, it's not your average panini. It's not on the flat sourdough bread that you anticipate. It's on a small roll. It's delicious! Fresh and soft. The pesto, delicious! My chicken, it was a little tough and difficult to chew. I would say a 3rd of it I just couldn't chew. I want to return back for a Reuben sandwich but I am afraid it may be tough as well so I think I try a breakfast sandwich. Specifically that Bagel BLT. Fresh brewed tea can be a handful and a hassle to sweeten to liking but this fresh brewed tea was worth it. They have a nice condiment station where they have several types of sugar to choose from. I put a few of the raw packets of sugar in and it was perfect. The fresh brewed tea had a smooth taste and actually probably would have been good without the sugar. I just couldn't go without. Although the food didn't win me over, the customer service certainly did and I am dedicated to returning back into a find that perfect match for my tummy. I'd definitely visit again! read more

Third time visiting Kismet Cafe and today's service was disappointing to say the least. Ordered 2 bagels and it took over 20 minutes to receive the food for carryout. The cafe was not overcrowded and staff seemed to be chatting, giggling and visibly slug like. Both bagels were simply a toasted bagel with ham and cheese. Both had the thinnest slice of ham i've ever seen, almost see through. The cheese slice was also minimal. Sadly, this will be our last time purchasing at this cafe. Very disappointing for the price and slowest speed for a carryout. read more

Food is great, everyone is wonderful. A fave place... risking sounding like an old grump but the music is too loud. A group across the cafe from where I am sitting are shouting at each other to have a conversation. So, I get the musics blasting and their talk. It's not pleasant, Especially early in the morning. I don't expect it to be quiet but it really is unpleasant to often listen to hard rock just blaring. Otherwise , of course 5 stars. Great addition to Eldersburg all these years. read more

The filth is layered on the floor especially in corner recesses. The floor looks like two different flooring choices because under the soda and coffee station it was 10x darker with grime. Disgusting. The food line station where items were assembled was chaos with items overflowing their tins and staff just scooping off unwanted, discarded items and using some of them. I couldn't bring myself to eat here. It was appalling. A health inspection is long over due here! read more

They have a really nice variety of fresh bagels with a lot of options for breakfast and lunch. Good coffee. Staff are nice. Vibes are cozy with the decor, though the cafe can get busy (good busy!). Food is fresh and healthy and doesn't leave you feeling bloated. I'm a big fan of their sandwiches as well! read more

Pleasant cafe in a quaint Maryland town. Stopped in the morning to meet a couple of coworkers before an appointment. I ordered a coffee with oat milk as I had already eaten breakfast at home. The cheddar everything bagel is the stuff breakfast dreams are made of! I've never had such a perfect bagel. Also, the horseradish bacon scallion cream cheese was extremely flavorful and decadent. The service was wonderful and the cafe atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. This was my second visit to Kismet since I live out of state. I remember it being better, 3 years ago, the first time. I'm serious about bagels, they must be boiled then baked and fresh. Today my bagel was a bit tough; like day old at least. Not the crisp outside and soft center I look for. It shouldn't chew like a dinner roll. In addition, my 'everything' bagel was missing it's 'everything'... darn... right? However, I did enjoy my large coffee and was sure to get a free refill to go. It is a comfortable cafe with very cool decor including inspirational saying, great music and pleasant staff. I will be back... the donuts looked damn good! Will try! read more

While the sandwiches are good, trying to order is nearly impossible. They rarely answer the phone. If they do, they lose the order. I tried to order online but couldn't. All the manager says is "I'm doing my best". Don't go there on the weekend - they can't handle it. read more

This is a charming little cafe in a busy shopping center off Liberty Rd. Landed here after seeing good reviews on Yelp(of course) and have been back twice since. The interior is small but comfortable and it's a good place to have lunch or just grab some coffee. For my first visit I just got a dozen bagels and a tub of chive cream cheese. We tried everything, egg, j.o. everything, rosemary salt, and one more variety I can't remember. I tried an everything bagel and thought it was very good; the cream cheese too. The only other places I ever get bagels from are the Bagel Bin in Columbia, and Wegmans. I thought the quality was on par with both of those BUT Kismet has a much wider variety of bagel choices. My second visit I got a chicken salad wrap and a chai tea latte. My friend got a sausage, egg, and cheese. The chicken salad was good, not great, but it did hit the spot and the lettuce, tomato, onion, and sprouts on it were very fresh. The CTL was awesome. I was hoping to steal a bite of the sausage, egg, and cheese but my friend had wolfed it down by the time I got back from getting a straw sooo I'm thinking she liked it. Third time my friend ordered a chicken salad sandwich and I ordered a turkey panini. Tbh I didn't like it. The turkey tasted...past it's prime? But to be fair it could have been a fluke. Another positive is that the employees are sooo nice. You see them working busily behind the counter making sandwiches, bagels, lattes, and then always hand you your order with a friendly smile. They deserve kudos for that; it seems like a very busy operation. Filled with signs you find at Home Goods and Marshalls, this independent cafe makes a good sandwich. They have a lot of options and are willing to customize them. Their juicing skills could use a bit of work. The $7, 10 oz., ABC Juice (Apple, Beet, Carrot) had maybe half a beet and one baby carrot to the 12 apples. Four and a half stars is what I was hunting for. Kismet is Panera/Starbucks if either had a heart, soul and a local owner's touch. Two of us went for a weekday lunch, and found just the right balance of other patrons and empty tables. A good sign. Kismet is a modestly upscale sandwich and coffee shop, with an interesting and varied menu well-balanced for the hurried 21st century patron on the go. Many but not all of the sandwiches are prepared on bagels, perhaps as a nod to Zipani, which formerly occupied the strip mall space. There also are paninis, salads and so forth. Coffee and related specialty drinks appear to be a well - specialty. My 19-year-old dining partner instantly declared the "frozen hot chocolate" to be the best she ever has experienced, even while I was trying to get past the intrinsic oxymoron of the name. Service was competent and fast; management and staff appear to care about every aspect of the customer experience. In Steve M.'s January 3, 2016 review, he calls himself a bagel snob. We're nothing short of bagel connoisseurs and Kismet has rocketed to the top of our local list of favorite places for them. Prices are fair for what you get. Holding Kismet back from five starts are relatively modest portions and a pricing structure that seems a little more Columbia or Owings Mills (or Olney or Gaithersburg) than it does Eldersburg. One of my favorite places in the area for delicious healthy food! So many things to choose from. Very flavorful and great portions. Baked goods are not something I usually gravitate toward when I go out to eat as they typically taste "fake"..no other way to describe it...but their baked goods seem to all be home made and are incredible! Their black bottom cup cake is the bomb! They have gluten free options as well. The atmosphere is very relaxing, cozy friendly and clean. The manager, Max, has the customer service thing down! He is super personable and very exacting on making sure your order is perfect. I love coming to kismet because their coffee tastes great, but this is the second time I've ordered a hot large latte and they gave me a drink that's not full at all. I didn't ask for a cappuccino so there was no reason that their should be an inch of foam & even so this was equivalent to ordering a medium coffee if i ordered it cold. I came here when this was Bruegger's Bagels, I came here when it was ZiPani, and I'm still stopping by now that it's Kismet Cafe. They've kept the charm of their predecessors and have improved to offer the most delicious flavors for their bagels and sandwich combinations. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu (but I will offer a special shout out to the turkey and herbs bagel sandwich and the good old fashioned egg and cheese).
